Chapter 6
I sit by the kitchen island eating cereal alone. I couldn't sleep for long, so I decided to get up and clean everything up. Everything left, that is.
It's pretty early, just 7 a.m and I'm the only one awake. It's not weird or anything. Everyone if them likes to sleep in when they're not working, which they do.
I don't know if I'm going to tell Jason about the kiss, I know he's going to be heartbroken, but I feel guilty.
Guilty for not feeling guilty. The only person I can seem to tell is Summer, but I'm still not entirely sure.
I don't want her to change towards Aiden.
I don't even know if it meant something to him.
He might've been drunk. I don't recall tasting an obvious alcoholic taste yesterday though.
I can't stop thinking about that damn kiss. His lips, his hands. They were so rough, but still gentle. He kissed me with such a force and to be honest I liked that. And I'm not even feeling guilty for liking it.
I don't even want to think about what Jason is going to do when he finds out. Our whole relationship will come to an end.
I need to see him today, I just crave to see him and feel his touch, for resurance, I think. I'll ask Summer about a double date once she gets up.
But will I be able to look at Jason in the eyes? I love him. Actually I'm not even sure if I do anymore. I wouldn't kiss another guy and enjoy it as much as I did if I loved him.
I'm a terrible human. All my morals just flew out the window. I hate cheaters and now I'm one of them. The reality brings tears to my eyes. Blinking them away before they can fall, I pull out my phone and decide to read wattpad.
It's the only thing that can get my mind off of things.
Before I get to read one sentence on the story I just begun I hear slopy footsteps behind me, making me turn around. I find Tristan half asleep walking towards the cupboard.
His dark brown hair is messy from sleep and the only thing he's wearing is pair of black boxers. I'm used to the sight, I live with six boys after all.
He doesn't seem to notice me so I just stay silent and stare at him, since I know it'll creep him out.
I think he notices me from the corner of his eyes because he jumps slightly turning to look at me as he holds the glas in one of his hands.
"What the hell!" He whisper yells and I giggle, putting a spoonful of colourful cereal in my mouth.
"What?" I smirk and he rolls his eyes before putting some water in the glass and chugging it down. "Why did you stare at me like that, you creep?" He says once he finishes and I laugh evily in response.
Two things can get my mind off if things actually. My brothers and wattpad.
"What are you doing up so early anyway?" He furrows his eyebrows and I swallow my cereal before replying to him. "Couldn't sleep, what are you doin'?"
"I was thirsty, but I'm not sleepy anymore so might as well join my little sister for breakfast." He smirks making me groan.
He starts eating his cereal beside me, making awful noises. My reading just gets harder with him beside me.
"What are you reading?" He asks and I know that he's trying to annoy me.
"A romance novel"
"Can I read?"
"No"
"Why not?"
"Because" I mumble my eyes still fixed on my Mac Book screen.
"Please can I rea-" he starts but gets interrupted by footsteps heard from behind us.
We both turn around and I get an unfamiliar feeling in my stomach at the sight in front of me.
Aiden is wearing nothing but a pair of black sweatpants that hang low on his waist, showing of his perfect V and the waist band of his Calvin Klein underwear.
His muscular, ink covered chest and arms look amazing under the morning sunlight that shines through the window and I now notice a space on his left arm that's shows of clear skin.
I guess the only one. His dark hair is messy on his head and he has his eyes half open.
"Morning, why up so early?" Tristan asks him and I swallow the lump in my throat and turn back around on my stool to face my screen.
"Couldn't sleep" He answers in his morning voice, making my heart flutter.
He couldn't sleep either, my subconscious remind me.
I have to stop thinking of him this way, I have a boyfriend! I keep reminding myself.
"Yeah, me too, Aves was even up before me." Tristan answers. I can feel his burning eyes on me.
"Morning, Avery." He smirks when I turn around. A sexy smirk for that. I swallow my cereal I just put in my mouth, without chewing first.
Tristan pats my back as I continue to cough violently, but when I'm done I look up and my green eyes meet Aiden's.
"Morning" I stutter, my voice raspy from coughing.
"Apre you okay?" Tristan asks and I nod.
After Aiden, have made his coffee he takes a seat beside Tristan. I feel his eyes on me once in a while but I keep looking at the screen in front of me.
After a while everyone else comes down to the kitchen and Summer sits next to me on the kitchen island.
"Tell me what happened!" She whispers, taking a spoonful of fruit loops.
"I can't tell you right now, the person is in the room with us." I whispers back.
Her curious gaze looks around before it lands on Aiden, who's luckily having his back towards her.
She looks at me with lifted eyebrows and a smirk.
"You know what, done eating, let's go to your room!" She says getting up.
"Summer, you literally ate like three spoons of cereal." Zach points to her full bowl and she shakes her head. "I'm done, " She resures him and he shrugs.
She takes my hand in hers and drags me out of the kitchen towards the stairs.
My feet touch the cold merbled floor, making me shiver as we walk up.
Once in my room Summer opens the door and closes it behind her before sitting on my bed, looking at me.
I let out a sigh before I begin talking.
"So, you know last night?" I ask nervously.
"Yes, Avery! Cut the prologue and tell me what happened!" She demands, crossing her arms over her chest as she leans her back against my headboard.
"Aidenkissedme" I mumble under my breath.
"Avery! Stop being annoying and tell me loud and fucking clear!" She never curses. I can tell she's holding back from twirling her hair.
"Aiden kissed me." I mutter and sit down on my cream colored rug.
She blinks at first. I close my eyes, scared of her reaction.
"He what!?" She shouts suddenly.
"He kissed me" I whisper and open my eyes only to find Summer with her mouth wide open, along with her eyes, staring into the wall. A shocked expression on her face.
"And I kissed him back." I say even lower.
She tugs a strand of her red hair behind her ear before blinking her eyes a few times and clearing her throat. She holds her hands up in front of her, as if to stop me from saying anything more.
"Wait, so you cheated on Jason?" She asks with, what I assume is a smirk, on her face.
"Yeah, but I didn't want to! Aiden made me! And the kiss didn't mean anything!" I resure her and she mumbles something under her breath, with a smirk playing on her pink lips.
"Wait, does Jason know?" She stops smirking and looks at me with a serious expression. I shake my head no and she nods.
"Are you telli-" I interrupt her. "No, I'm not telling him, there's no need for him to worry, it didn't mean anything, I'm going to continue my relationship with Jason, without having Aiden making my life a mess.
" She nods. "Bacause I don't want Aiden making my life a mess.
Because I have a boyfriend and Aiden is a big no. " I continue.
"I get it. You won't tell him." She holds her hands out.
........
We spend a few hours doing nothing, but watching Netflix on my TV but the ringing of Summer's phone makes us pause the episode of Jane the Virgin we were currently watching.
"Hi, babe!" She says into the phone.
"Yeah...okay...yeah...okay!" She hangs up and looks at me with a smile.
"Get ready, we're going to Daiana's!" She squeals jumping off the bed and towards my closet. "What why?" I ask still laying down.
"Jason and Asher said that we're going on a double date in an hour they're meeting us there." She tells me from the closet and my heart skips a beat as the feeling of guilt takes over every inch of my body.
At least I won't be the one to come up with the idea.
Finay building up the strength to get separated from my bed I walk to the closet and pick out a pair of jeans and Xavier's stolen sweater. I've been having this one for years so I doubt he'll recognise it.
I leave my dark hair in its natural state and put on some mascara and lip gloss, before grabbing my purse and phone.
"Let's go!" Summer says, interlocking my arm with hers.
We walk to the guys, who are all sitting in the living room, watching some crappy show on TV. Parker and Ashton are also home now.
"We're going out, " I tell my brothers, mostly referring my announcement towards the three eldest.
"Where?"
"With who?
"Why?
"When will you be back?"
"How?"
"Is it with boys?"
Everyone asks at the same time and we both look at them. They're all looking back at us with the same angry expressions on their faces and arms crossed across their muscular chests. My eyes lock with Aiden's and I can tell he is annoyed by the way his jaw is clenched tightly.
"At Daiana's, Jason and Asher, in a couple of hours, with the car, yes." Me and Summer answer all their questions at the same time, my eyes never leaving Aiden's.
"Have fun!" Ashton says with a smile, making me look at him.
He's always been the most careless
of all my brothers, but that might be because he's the youngest. "Thank you, Ash." I smile and he nods.
Me and Summer tell everyone goodbye and walk out of the house and toward the garage where my car is.
When I turn the key, my car makes some weird noise. I look at Summer.
"Let's just borrow, Xavier's."
We get into the house and I put my key on the table in the middle of the hallway.
"Xav, can I borrow your car?"I shout from the hallway.
"Yeah, my keys re in my office!" He shouts back from the living room, and I leave Summer in the hallway to go to his office.
I open one side of the white double doors and walk behind his wooden desk in the middle of the room.
I look on the wooden surface for the keys of his black Mercedes but the only things I see is piles of papers, and loose money.
I grab the metallic handle of the wooden top drawer and pull it out, to see if the key is in there, but what I find inside is something that makes me let out a loud gasp.
I see a black hand gun with silver bullets all around the wooden drawer with the car keys beside.
Why does he have a gun in his office?
Many thoughts run through my head but get interrupted by Xavier coming in through the door.
"Did you find the ke-" He stops talking once he sees that I opened his drawer.
"Why do you have a gun?" I ask slowly and he scratches the back of his neck, a habit of his, he does when he's nervous. "Um, it's for security, its legal, principessa, don't worry, now take the key, you'll be late." He says and I nod slowly.
I eye the gun once again before I take the key out and walk towards the door but Xavier pulls me back by my arm and into a tight embrace.
His muscular arms wrap around my shoulders and I wrap my small ones around his waist.
I breath in his nice aftershave smell and he kisses the top of my head.
"I love you, Avery, don't ever forget that. No matter what. " He says and I scrunch my eyebrows in confusion.
"I love you too, Xav, are you okay?" I ask and I feel him nod against my head.
"Okay, well I better get going." I tell him unsure, trying to get out of his death grip. "Yeah, have fun, but not too much." He says back, making me giggle.
The diner is a retro, cozy place with dark, red booths lining up against the walls. The walls are painted a white colour and posters and other decorations are hanging from them.
I slide into a booth with Summer sitting next to me as we wait for the guys to arrive. And yes, we came here earlier than them.
The door to the diner opens and in comes Jason and Asher in all their glory. Jason's blonde hair is gelled back and he's wearing a red polo shirt with blue jeans.
My heart beats faster at each and every step they take towards us and my leg starts bouncing, anxiously under the table.
"Avery calm down." Summer whispers and puts her hand on my knee to stop my bouncing leg.
"Hey, babe, hey Avery!" Asher greets us and I force a smile on my face.
"Hi!" We both greet back and Jason nods at us, before taking a seat across me.
"Did you guys wait long?" He asks, looking at me and I shake my head no.
He reaches over the table and I realise he wants to kiss me, Summer pats my knee under the table and I lean in.
Our lips press against each other and for the first time, well second, I don't feel anything. Aiden's lips were softer yet rougher than Jason's. Jason's are way to wet, now that I think about it and I can't help but crave Aiden's lips instead.
I abruptly pull away and he gives me a weird look before shrugging it off.
"So, babe, since Summer is going home, do you want to come over to mine, I mean if you want to obviously." Jason suggests and my heart skips a beat.
He wants me to sleep at his house?
I look over at Summer for help but she's in the world of hearts and flowers as she talks with Asher.
I don't want to sleep at Jason's, I'm not ready to take our relationship to that level, even if we've done sexual things before, I'm not ready to give him my virginity, especially after what happened with Aiden, even if it was just a kiss.
It's always been a great deal to me. I'm not necessarily waiti g until marriage, but I've always wanted to lose my virginity with someone I know deserves it and with someone I trust enough to do so.
I might even want to lose it to someone I'm in love with.
Completely and utterly in love with. And I'm not completely sure that Jason is that person.
Doesn't matter if we are in a one years relationship.
I can't trust that he won't tell anyone what we've done. He doesn't give me the mature vibes actually. And if I lose my virginity it has to be to someone mature.
"Yeah sure." I give him a fake smile and his eyes lit up.
"Great, but will your brothers let you?" He asks as he realises I have my brothers but an idea pops to my mind.
"I'll tell them I'm sleeping at Summers." I shrug and Summer snaps her head at mine direction at the mention of her name.
"What?"
"I'm telling the guys I'm sleeping at yours but I'm going to Jason's, think you can tell a pretty little innocent lie for me?" I give her my best poppy dog eyes and she sighs before nodding her head.
"Just use protection, please." Asher says making my face heat up and Jason chuckle lightly.
We won't need to. My subconscious again.
"Hi, guys! The usual?" Candice, the waitress comes over to our booth with a warm smile, plastered on her kind face.
She's a girl in her early twenties that has been working here for about three years, while she's studying at the local college.
We met her the first time we came here and she also has a thing for Tristan.
"Hi, Candise!" We all greet back.
"Yeah, the usual." Summer smiles and Candice nods.
"Oh, can you make me a chocolate milkshake instead of strawberry?" I ask her politely and she gives me a weird look, since I've never ordered a chocolate milkshake before but nods anyways.
"I'll be back with your orders soon." She smiles and walks off, her blonde hair bouncing on her shoulders as she walks.
"So, what do you guys want to do after?" Asher asks and I shrug.
"Lets go to the mall! I really need some new clothes!" Summer says excitedly and I roll my eyes.
"You were literally at the mall two days ago!"
