44. A chase
The next morning when I woke up, Abhinav was not beside me. I searched for him in the bathroom and study but he was not there too. Where did this man go early in the morning? I was about to turn back when a pair of hands wound around my waist pulling me closer.
"Searching for me, Princess?" He asked in his husky voice and planted a kiss on my earlobe. I kept my hands above his and nodded.
"Why were you not here?" I asked in a complaining tone at which he chuckled.
"I had to attend a call and didn't want to disturb your sleep." He replied kissing my crown and I nodded at him. He turned me around and joined our lips for an urgent kiss. My hands tugged his hair while he pulled me closer by my waist. He kept one of his hands over my cheek rubbing there without breaking the kiss.
"I have to go to Chandigarh for an important meeting. I will be back by tonight." He said brushing my lower lip with his thumb. I just nodded in a daze. He left me after pecking my forehead and disappeared into the bathroom.
He came out wearing his clothes but his shirt was not buttoned. I looked at him raising a brow but he just came and stood in front of me and pulled me closer by my waist.
"You are becoming lazy day by day!" I exclaimed buttoning his shirt.
"Achha, am I? Let us see that tonight!" He said in his husky voice making me blush red.
"Nav!" I whined and he chuckled kissing my forehead. I helped him with his blazer. He took out a yellow poshak for me and asked me to get ready in it. I took it and got ready. He helped me wear all the jewelry once I was ready and filled my hair partition with vermilion and kissed my hair.
"you are adding beauty to these pieces of jewels, biwi!" He praised kissing my eyes which fluttered close and kissed my cheeks after that.
"I will be waiting for this to-be-king to return!" I said kissing him on both cheeks. He chuckled nodding his head and we walked out of our chamber.
He walked away after bidding bye to everyone and I too got myself busy with work. Little did I know what cyclone was waiting for us.
"There was a parcel for you Choti Rani Sa!" A worker handed over the parcel 4 hours after Nav left. I took it and went back to my room. I opened it and it had a scarf that I had once seen Abighya wearing. There was a letter in it. I took it out and started reading.

I looked around trying to process the things and come up with something. I can't let these things come out but I can't risk my safety either! What should I do now? There are chances of my mobile being tapped so I can't take the risk of texting or calling someone.
I decided to meet whoever he was and changed my outfit and walked out praying to god in my mind that my plan actually works. I hope it does.
I drove to the mentioned destination after executing the first step of my plan successfully. I was halfway through it when I felt a few cars following me. What the hell? From where did these cars come from? I dialed Abhinavs' number in fear and he answered my phone in a few rings.
"Hey baby, missing me?" I heard his teasing voice but fear crept into my mind and I could feel my heartbeat rise.
"Nav! Someone is following me! Save me, Nav!" I teared up looking at the rear-view mirror and there were three cars following me.
"How many cars?" He asked and I answered.
"Which car did you take?" He asked him and I answered still glancing in the rear-view mirror from time to time.
"Listen, Princess! Your car is bulletproof. So, you have to just stay far from their reach so that they can't dash into you. I am sending our guards. You just follow my instructions." He said and I replied with an okay.
"I am unable to see my guards either!" I replied. I actually planned to lose them after reaching the temple but I could not see them now only.
"Relax, Princess! Just change the gear and raise the accelerator." He said ad I followed his instructions with no questions asked.
"Take a right turn." I did as he said and saw 2 cars with royal symbols already waiting there. The people bowed from inside and started driving towards me as soon as they saw me approaching.
"Give them way"He guided and I took a little left so that they could go ahead. The cars took a turn and started following me. I was confused about what Abhinav was planning.
"Take the next left and you will see 2 more cars. Give them the way and don't panic." He said and I did that. The cars crossed me but I was unable to comprehend what was happening actually. I could only see Abhinavs' cars in the rear-view mirror too. I then saw a few royal cars surrounding my car.
"Take the left turn and enter the palace. " He said and I drove through the palace gates. Not the one we are staying but some other one. There were guards standing there on either side of my car and one came to me and opened my door. I came out and saw all the other cars following me enter one by one.
That was when I realized what Abhinav did. He blocked those cars that followed me from all directions while protecting mine too!
"Breathe Princess! Your husband is all around you!" He said and I heaved a sigh of relief. He is around me indeed. The roaring lion symbol of the royal family, his voice over the phone, and his trusted guards all around me made me feel safe.
"Daram will handle this matter from here on!" He said and I felt myself nodding with tears in my eyes.
"I am coming back!" He said and I replied with a 'please be quick'. That's when a message came and I looked at my mobile.
It was from the same man asking me to come to him before evening. I am hell scared to go there but I have to. For my family and I trust my angel!
"Daram, I want to go to the temple. " I said and he nodded opening the door for me. I settled in the back seat and he took the driving seat. We reached the temple in some 15 minutes. That man texted me saying his car was waiting for me and asked me to drop my mobile there.
