chapter 2

Thinking of this, I gently held the box of cold medicine in my hands. "Thank you, Natalie, but my throat hurts a lot right now, and I feel a bit nauseous, I really can't eat it."

"But since it's your kind gesture, I certainly can't waste it."

Saying this, I turned to look at Maria Stewart, who also had a cold. "Maria, do you want to try? This is cold medicine Natalie brought back from abroad, and I've heard it's especially effective."

Maria's dad is a school leader, and her grades have always been the best in the school.

Moreover, most of her family members are in politics, with a strong background.

She took the medicine box, carefully looked at the packaging, and was about to agree.

Suddenly, Natalie shouted, "No!"

Her voice suddenly rose, startling everyone present.

She met my shocked and puzzled gaze and quickly explained, "Sarah, Maria seems to be allergic to many medications. What if something goes wrong after taking it?"

Maria leaned over to check the cold medicine's ingredients and said, "I'm only allergic to penicillin, and this medicine doesn't have it."

A trace of nervousness appeared on Natalie's face.

Sophia snatched the cold medicine and angrily said, "This was specially kept for you by Natalie! If you don't want to take it, fine, but why give it to someone else?"

Her words were blunt, and Maria's face instantly darkened. She said nothing and turned to leave.

I had already gotten the answer I wanted.

It seems that as long as something from Natalie is given away, it will trigger that "plunder mechanism."

In that case, I'll play big with her.

What's the point of her stealing only my grades?

When the time comes, I'll give her the grades of all the students in the school to truly honor the game she carefully prepared.

I made up my mind and was about to take back that box of cold medicine.

Natalie, worried I might share the medicine with others, pulled out a piece of candy from her pocket.

She said, "Sarah, if you're worried about the cold medicine interacting, don't take it. I have throat lozenges here, you can have one of these."

The people around were deeply moved by her thoughtful gesture.

"Natalie is so considerate, she even thinks of such details."

"Natalie cares so much about her. Sarah is really lucky."

Natalie smiled slightly and said, "I just thought Sarah must be feeling awful with a cold, and if it doesn't get better, it might affect her exam performance."

"Sarah is the pride of our class, of course I have to think more about her."

Looking at her fake smile, I recalled my previous life and the conversation between Natalie and Sophia that I heard before my consciousness faded.

Sophia was admiring Natalie for becoming the top SAT scorer in the city.

Natalie chuckled lightly and flicked her wrist. "I'm about to go abroad, I don't really care about grades. 'Top SAT Scorer' just sounds nice, it's not that useful."

"I was just messing with that poor girl. She pretends to love studying all the time, it annoys me to death."

"Now it's perfect, let's see how she keeps pretending! Trash will always end up back in the trash heap."

I couldn't help but laugh in anger.

I thought, "She went through all that trouble just to mess with me?"

This time, I didn't refuse. After taking the throat lozenge, I casually stuffed it into my pocket.

Natalie saw my action and seemed a bit displeased. She frowned and asked me, "Sarah, isn't your throat feeling uncomfortable? Why aren't you eating it?"
