Chapter 29 Wren
CHAPTER TWENTY-NINE
WREN
My pussy clenches, and I moan, my eyes slowly blinking open as I try to figure out what’s happening.
I recognize the bedroom I went to sleep in, but feeling around, nobody is beside me in the bed anymore, and Jagger’s chair in the corner is empty.
Light trickles in through the curtains, telling me it’s morning.
I cry out when something presses inside me, and I look down, realizing there’s currently someone between my legs, under the blanket. I throw it back, revealing messy blonde hair.
Pete lifts his head and grins at me. “You’re awake.”
“Uh-huh,” I mumble with wide eyes as I watch him press a finger into me, my back arching as I try to hold my moans in.
“I was hoping I could make you come in your sleep.”
“Is that even possible?” I pant out as he starts thrusting his finger in and out of me.
“I don’t know, I was hoping to find out.” He watches me for a second before tilting his head. “It doesn’t bother you, does it?”
“No, what you’re doing right now definitely doesn’t bother me,” I pant out.
He grins, then gives his head a quick shake. “Good to know. But I meant touching you while you’re asleep. Does that upset you at all? Some people don’t like it, but you were just so irresistible lying here all sexy and vulnerable for me.”
I think about being asleep while he pleases my body, and a fresh wave of arousal flows through me, telling me exactly how I feel about that.
I shake my head. “No, I think that’s hot.”
His grin grows wide, making him look even sexier and more menacing. “Yeah? You like the idea that anytime you fall asleep, you might wake to me being between your legs?” I nod, and he licks up my center, making me cry out.
Then he slowly crawls up my body until his very erect cock bumps against my clit.
He’s naked!
I realize I’m naked, too, having fallen asleep pretty quickly after having sex with Dex and being cleaned up last night.
“The thing is, I really want to try fucking you while you’re asleep, to see if I can gently coax an orgasm from your body while you aren’t even aware.”
I whimper in approval as he leans to the side and kisses right below my ear before whispering, “But the first time my cock is inside you, I want you awake to remember.”
My hips lift, trying to get his teasing cock inside me, but he just thrusts it through my wet folds at an excruciatingly slow pace.
“Peter!” I beg, my fingers digging into his back.
“You want my cock, angel?”
“Yes!” I hiss as I try to pull him closer.
“Tell me how bad you want it,” he whispers, his teeth grazing my neck as I squirm beneath him.
“So bad,” I pant out.
“Is my angel desperate? Needy?”
“Yes! Peter, please!”
“Mmm,” he hums, his nose running up my throat as he starts to pepper kisses over my jaw. “I love hearing you beg for me.” I whimper with frustration and need, and he chuckles, his warm breath blowing across my cheek. “Don’t worry, Wren. I’ll give you what you want.”
His hips pull back as he lines himself up with my entrance.
“But just know, once I’m inside of you, I might lose control.
I’m not sure I can be gentle with you this time.
You have me so worked up, the second I feel you wrapped around my cock, I’m gonna lose it.
Are you okay with that?” He taps my entrance with his tip.
“Because if not, tell me now, and I will make you come on my fingers instead. I don’t—”
“Fuck me, Peter. I want you.”
His eyes turn molten, and he doesn’t hesitate to push into me. It’s not as fast as I thought he might be, but once he’s settled fully into me, he takes a second for us both to acclimate. That’s when he loses control.
He places his hands on the pillow, either side of my head, and pushes the front half of his body up as his hips start thrusting… hard.
He stares into my eyes as a look of sheer determination crosses his face. He fills me up with every thrust as I hold onto his shoulders for support.
“Fuck, angel, you feel incredible.”
“So… do… you…” I manage to grunt out between thrusts.
“You’re so goddamned sexy. Now I know how it feels to have you wrapped around my cock, I’m not sure how I’ll function without being inside of you every moment of every day.”
His words make me whimper at the thought of him doing this to me throughout the day in random places. Over the arm of the sofa, on the kitchen table, in the shower.
“Mmm, you like that idea, I feel how your pussy just responded. Is it my dirty words that did it? Or the thought of me taking you everywhere and anywhere?”
“Both,” I mumble as he moves faster and faster, my climax barreling toward me quicker than I expected.
“Keep wearing those sexy skirts, and I’ll be sure to make it happen.”
I lift a leg to wrap around his back as leverage as I try to meet him thrust for thrust.
“Fuck, yeah, angel, that’s it. You want to come with me?”
“Yes!” I exclaim, the mere thought of us finding our release together brings me even closer to my own release.
He bares his teeth as he pushes us both toward that blessed peak, his hips moving at an inhuman speed.
Reaching up, I cup his cheek as I think back to the letters we shared, to everything we’ve been through together, and to how he’s told me how he feels about me, twice, and I haven’t done the same.
Feeling like this is finally the perfect moment for it, I pant out, “Peter, I love you.”
“Fuck!” he cries out, his hips move frantically as he crashes his lips to mine right at the moment my orgasm explodes out of me.
I cling to him and whimper into his mouth as he kisses me with a brutal passion I’ve never felt before, as if he’s not just kissing me, he’s claiming me.
His hips stutter before going still as he releases himself inside of me. Slowly, he lowers his body over mine before turning us to the side so he doesn’t crush me.
We both pant heavily as we stare at one another. He clutches both my hands between his, against his chest, and I smile at him, my heart feeling full and warm.
“I hope you know how special you are to me,” I tell him quietly. “I care about you so much. Just because I hadn’t said it before didn’t mean I didn't feel it.”
He leans forward and gives me a chaste kiss. “I knew how you felt. I didn’t need the words, although I’m definitely glad to hear them now.”
“I do, Peter, I love you. I’ve loved you for a long time, and I’m sorry I never said it before now.”
“I love you, too, Wren.” He leans forward and kisses me again. This one is slow and languid, and we take our time, his hands releasing mine as we start to explore each other’s naked bodies.
That is, until we’re interrupted.
“Sorry to break this up, but we need to leave soon,” Sly says from the doorway. And it’s like a bucket of cold water has been dumped on me, reminding me what today may have in store for us.
It’s time to finally take down my brother.
Dex holds me tighter in his lap as Elias paces the living room, the floorboards creaking under his boots. It’s the fifth time he’s gone over the plan, but we know it’s important that we’re all on the same page.
Outside, rain patters steadily against the windows. I’m not sure yet if it will help or hinder our attack on the compound.
“After I hack back into their system and start the signal scrambler, what’s next?” Elias asks, turning sharply toward us. His tone is calm, but his eyes cut like he’s testing everyone.
Sly answers first, sitting forward on the couch, elbows on his knees. “Once the network’s blind, we advance to the perimeter. Two at the east gate. We neutralize quietly, clear the approach, and breach through the supply door.”
Elias nods. “And after entry?”
Sly continues, precise as always. “Sweep and clear. We take out the interior guard station first. Maintain momentum. Minimize noise.”
Jagger’s hands move fast and sharp. I’ve learned to follow the rhythm of his signing by now. “Roof access. North side. Watch exits. No one slips out unnoticed.”
Elias glances at him and then at the others. “Good.”
Dex’s voice cuts in next, low and rough near my ear. “And I stay with Wren. We’re in the van, a safe distance from the main gate.”
“Right.” Elias folds his hands. “Engine idling. Lights off. Doors locked. You wait for my signal. If something goes wrong—”
“We drive,” Dex says.
Pete, who’s perched on the arm of a chair with his fingers steepled, speaks next. “I’ll take the west flank,” he says calmly, like this is a walk in the park for him. “I’ll be the charming distraction if anyone gets uppity. Or, you know, the un-charming one. Either works.”
Elias shoots him a look that could cut, but doesn’t waste words. “You’re on interior sweep with Sly. Keep your theatrics to a minimum. Don’t fuck this up.”
Pete’s grin widens. “Copy that. Limited theatrics.”
Elias scans everyone as he speaks. “If the scramble fails early, abort. Dex calls it. Everyone pulls back to point Bravo. No heroics. We regroup and reassess.”
Dex’s hand tightens around my thigh as Sly looks at me and asks, “And if they get close to the van?”
“You leave,” Elias answers simply. “Dex knows to take off the second they spot someone.”
I hate the idea of taking off and leaving them there, but I know it’s for the best. We can’t save them if we’ve been compromised ourselves.
Elias crouches and meets my eyes. “You keep your comm quiet unless we call you. If you hear gunfire, you stay down. Got it?”
“Got it,” I say, surprising myself with how steady I sound.
“You don’t have to be brave today, Wren. Just do as we say, and you’ll be okay.” His fingers touch my cheek for a second, and they're gone so fast I question whether it actually happened.
I want to argue, to tell him that today will take more bravery than I think I possess. But they’re the ones going in there and risking their lives. All I’m doing is sitting in the SUV.
Dex stands slowly, setting me on my feet. “I think we’re all good with the plan, we should go.” He brushes his thumb over my knuckles. “You good?”
“I’m good,” I tell him.
Elias straightens. “Wren, you’re with me, I want to show you something in the car. The rest of you gear up, we leave in ten.”
He turns to me and gestures to the front door, and I move behind him, slipping on my running shoes and leather jacket.
“We might need rain jackets if this weather keeps up,” I say, making small talk as he slips on his own shoes.
“I want to show you where to bunker down in the SUV in case things go bad,” he tells me as he pulls the door open.
I jog down the steps as rain starts to cover us. The SUV's lights flash as Elias presses the unlock button. I open the back door and jump inside, trying to avoid getting any wetter, and he kneels inside the edge of the door, pointing at the ground between the second row of seats.
“This is a good spot for you to lie low. But really, anywhere on the ground between the seats will work. Do you have your knife on you?”
I nod, tapping the side of my ankle where a knife is strapped under my jeans.
“There’s a gun in the glove box if it comes to that. Release the safety, hold tight, and squeeze the trigger.” He looks at me, and his lips press together as a look of worry crosses his face. “I should have taught you to shoot.”
“You can always teach me after.”
He nods, not looking any happier about it.
“I need to grab my computer. I’ll be right back.”
As he turns to leave, a figure cloaked in black comes out of nowhere and hits him over the head with something hard.
I scream as Elias crumples sideways onto the floor of the SUV. Everything happens so quickly. Another man appears, and they lift Elias’s legs and shove him inside, climbing in after him. One of them points a gun at me, before the other slams the door shut.
We start to move, and I turn to see a third man in the driver’s seat.
“Let us go!” I yell as I reach for my handle, but a rough hand pulls me back against my seat as a gun is pressed to my temple.
“Don’t move,” he warns.
But I struggle against his hold, that is, until I hear the click of a gun being cocked. I turn my gaze and find the second man with a gun pointed at Elias. “Keep fighting, and I’ll kill him.”
A whimper escapes me, and I sag in defeat.
With tears in my eyes, I watch as they bind Elias’s hands and feet with zip ties.
They don’t even bother with tying me up, clearly not seeing me as a threat.
I have my knife, but I know with the two of them back here with me, and a gun pointed at Elias, I can't do anything to help our situation right now.
I turn my eyes to the window, where the rain pounds down heavily, hoping to figure out where they’re taking us.
I feel hands on me, and I flinch, my head whipping around to find one of the men searching me. “Calm down, I’m just looking for your phone.”
Deciding I don’t want to be groped any more than necessary, I lean forward and tell him, “Right back pocket.”
He grunts in response and quickly pulls it out.
For a second, I think I’ve gotten away with my watch again, but he searches my wrists and finds it.
The other man finds Elias’s phone and rolls the window down a few inches, tossing away all three devices from the SUV, and with them our only chance at the others finding us and getting out of this nightmare.
