Chapter 27
Violet
“Sweets, what are you doing?” I hear Nolan’s groggy voice ask from behind me.
“Cleaning,” I tell him as I gather everything off the counter and throw it in the trash. “There’s so much to do. Everyone will be here tomorrow, and this house is a mess.”
“Hey, woah.” Nolan comes up and grabs my shoulders. “Sweets, you need to take a moment and breathe. You’re spiraling right now.”
I blink at him rapidly, my heart pounding in my chest. “I am, aren't I?” I murmur, my shoulders slumping.
“Just a little,” he chuckles. “You tossed Thomas’s wallet and the keys to Aiden’s truck in the trash.”
My eyes widen as they snap over to the trash can. “Shit,” I groan, taking a step towards it to fish them out, but Nolan stops me.
“I got it.” He guides me over to the dining room chair and helps me sit down. “Just take a moment to breathe, then we will make a game plan, okay?”
“Okay,” I sigh heavily.
The girls are getting in later today, and I’m so damn excited to see them. It’s been too long. Texting and video calls just aren’t cutting it anymore.
When I woke up this morning, I decided to let the guys sleep and started cleaning the house. I started with the bathroom. I needed something to keep my mind busy because as soon as I opened my eyes, everything that happened with Sylvia came rushing back.
I can’t believe I pulled a gun on her. I’ve never done that in my life! I’ve never had to. Being within Calling Wood, I was always with one of the girls for the most part, but even when I wasn’t, I never felt unsafe.
But I was so damn afraid she wasn’t going to let me leave. The way she was talking and how she was following me made me panic.
“There’s still so much left to do,” I groan, putting my forehead on the table.
“And we’re going to get it all done. We have today and the weekend. With the three of us, everything will be taken care of.”
“Three?” I frown as I lift my head to look at him.
“Yes, me and the guys.”
“What about me?” I raise a brow.
“You're going to sit your pretty little Omega butt down and let your men take care of you.” He grins, placing the wallet, watch, and a few other things I threw in the trash amongst my cleaning frenzy on the table.
“You don’t have to,” I tell him, but the idea of them setting up for the gender reveal has my heart warming.
“We don’t, but we want to. And yes, we know you’re perfectly capable of setting everything up, but with the day you had yesterday and how eventful we’re expecting tomorrow to be, we want you to take the day to relax. And before you know it, we’re going to be at the airport picking up the girls.”
That has me grinning. “I’m so excited. I miss them so much.”
“I know, Sweets.” He comes over and kisses my forehead. I sigh, leaning into his touch.
“Ugh, I just remembered I need to go back to the store and get the decorations. They probably put everything back. Damn it,” I sigh, scrubbing my face with my hands. I feel like a hot mess, all sweaty and sticky from running around the house.
“Already done,” Aiden says, entering the kitchen.
“What do you mean?”
Aiden stops next to me, grips my chin gently and raises my face so that I’m looking up at him. My heart flutters as he bends down and kisses me sweetly. “Morning, Little One,” he murmurs.
“Morning,” I sigh happily, swooning over my Alpha. He chuckles, pressing another kiss to my lips and one to my forehead before heading over to Nolan. He grins and gives him a quick kiss before looking over at me as he heads towards the fridge.
“Nolan went back last night while you were napping.”
My eyes dart toward Nolan, lips parting. “You did?”
“I did.” He smiles, nodding before going over to the corner and grabbing a few bags, placing them on the table.
“Nolan,” I breathe out, tears stinging my eyes as I look through the bags. Everything’s there. I look up at him, lower lip quivering. I love this man so damn much. “Thank you,” my voice cracks.
“Hey, don’t cry,” he chuckles as he rushes over to me, kneeling down next to me. “It really wasn’t a big deal.”
“I’m sorry.” I wipe at my eyes. “Damn hormones.” Nolan pulls me to my feet and straight into his arms.
“Never be sorry.”
“Where’s Thomas?” I ask, noticing that Aiden seems to be fully dressed. When did he even wake up?
Just as I ask the question, the door opens, and in walks my sinfully sexy Alpha. Biting my bottom lip, my eyes sweep over him, taking a moment to admire him. His red locks are wind-blown, and his freckles pop against his pink cheeks, probably from the crisp morning air. Even if it’s spring, spring in the mountains is still a little chilly in the morning.
He’s dressed in a red and black plaid jacket, jeans, and hiking boots. Nothing new, yet he’s as handsome as ever.
“Hey, baby girl.” He grins, catching me eyeing him up.
“Hey,” I breathe, making my way over to him. He hugs me before gripping my chin like Aiden did and pressing a kiss to my lips. “Where have you been?”
His eyes move over to the guys and frowns.
“What?” I ask, looking between the three of them.
“I was at the courthouse,” he sighs. “Getting this.” He hands me some papers. “It’s the form for a restraining order.”
“Oh,” I whisper, looking at the papers.
“I hate that we have to do this,” Aiden growls. “It shouldn't have gotten this far.”
“It’s okay.” I take the papers and place them on the counter next to the house phone. “I’ll fill this out over the weekend, and we can bring them back on Monday. Now, no more talk of her. This is a happy, fun weekend. Nothing is going to get in the way of our happy moment,” I say, determined to make it true.
“You're right,” Aiden agrees. “This weekend will be fun.”
Smiling wide, I nod. “Now, I’m going to shower.”
When I get out of the shower and I’m dressed, I head into the main part of the house and gasp. “Oh my god!” I squeal. “This looks amazing.”
How long was I in the shower for? Because by the looks of it, they put up all the decorations while I was in there.
“You like?” Nolan asks.
“I love it.” I am astonished as I look around, taking in everything. It looks amazing. And the baby seems to agree because they chose this moment to start kicking up a storm.
“Oh my god! Quick. Get over here.”
“Why? What’s wrong?” Thomas asks as all three of them scramble to get over to me.
A wide grin takes over my face. “Give me your hands,” I say, grabbing them and placing them on my belly.
I watch as all three of their eyes widen in awe as they feel our baby moving for the first time.
“Holy shit,” Aiden says.
“Wow,” Thomas whispers.
“Damn, they have a good kick.” Nolan chuckles.
“Amazing, isn’t it?” I ask, still grinning like crazy.
“Best feeling ever.” Aiden murmurs.
Thomas gets down to his knees and presses his cheek to my belly. He chuckles a moment later. “So strong.” He turns his head. “Love you, Little Bean.”
“Fitting name. They’re like a little jumping bean in here.” Nolan chuckles.
With my heart so full, we all stay in this moment for a little while, not moving until the baby stops.
This is everything I’ve ever wanted, and I thank the lucky stars for bringing me my dream pack.
Seeing my friends again has been amazing. We spent the night staying up late, talking, watching movies, and just having girl time.
They obsessed over my belly, unable to keep their hands off it. Normally, I don’t like anyone but my pack touching my belly, but in a way, they're part of my pack. They’re my family and nothing has ever felt more right.
I told them what happened with Sylvia, and let’s just say it took everything in Jenny not to go out and find where she lives so she could, and I quote, ‘Beat that crazy bitch’s ass’.
Rylee wanted to set her house on fire. That got her a few shocked looks. But my Omega bestie is a little on the crazy side.
Poor Jenny has her hands full with that one.
I see a change in them. The way Jenny looks at Rylee more when Rylee isn’t looking. If I didn’t know any better, I think my Alpha bestie is starting to realize some things about herself. Whatever happens, I'm here for them both and want nothing but happiness for them.
The house is filled with family, and I stand back, watching our guests with a smile. Aiden’s mom, dads, and sister are here. As well as her daughter, Aubrey. Aiden’s been on Aubrey patrol because the little cutie-pie kept trying to get into the cupcakes.
Now she’s running around, laughing her head off as Aiden chases her. I might have given her one of the cupcakes without anyone knowing. But come on, how was I going to say no to her cute little face?
And the girl knows how to pull at my heartstrings. She called me Auntie Vi. There was no hope for me after that. I had to. It would be a crime if I didn’t.
“How are you doing, sweetheart?” I look over to see Aiden’s mom, who’s coming to stand next to me.
“Good,” I tell her honestly. Today has been the best day. We played games, laughed, talked, and just enjoyed each other's company. “It’s all new, you know?” I tell her, looking out at the group of smiling faces. “I’m not used to this. My parents passed when I was a teenager, and my nana not long after. Apart from my best friends, I’ve been alone most of my life. I don’t have any siblings; no aunts, uncles, or cousins that I know of. So my family was just those girls.” I turn back to smile at her. “Until I met your son's pack.”
She smiles back. “Apart from those men, you're the best thing that's ever happened to him. You're everything he dreamed of.”
My throat clogs with emotions. “Same goes for the pack with me.” I rub my belly. “None of this happened how I thought it would. But apart from... well, you know.” I sigh, anger bubbling within me as I think about Sylvia. “I wouldn’t change it.” Okay, so maybe being away from them for those three months could have been done without, but I can’t change the past, nor will I focus on that.
“We’re lucky to have you as a part of the family. And once those men stop hogging you so much, we would love to spend more time with you.” Her laugh is carefree, making me smile.
“I would love that.”
“Alright, Sweets. Are you ready to find out what we’re having?” Nolan asks as he joins us.
“Yes!” I grin brightly. “Let’s go.”
He chuckles as I pull him towards the door.
“Alright, everyone, outside!” Aiden shouts. “Let’s find out!”
Everyone cheers as they follow along into the backyard. Pinned to the tree is a balloon filled with colored rice flour, so it’s safe for the environment.
I let the guys decide how we do the reveal, and of course, true to the mountain men they are, they chose to shoot it with arrows.
The guys walk over to where the bows are leaning against a nearby tree. They each grab an arrow and get into place.
I stand off to the side, away from the crowd but out of the way, and watch.
I chew on my lower lip as I take in my men. All of them have their sleeves rolled up, showing off their bulging forearms, and fuck me if it’s not a turn on. What can I say? I’m an arm girl. I don’t like them when they’re too big but big enough to be able to toss you around without breaking a sweat is sexy. And theirs are mouth-wateringly perfect.
“Got a bit of drool there,” Rylee whispers, not so quietly.
I shoot her a glare as the guys chuckle.
“Oh, whatever,” I mutter, crossing my arms. “Just shoot the damn arrows.”
The guys put the arrows in place and pull back the bow string. “Three!” Jenny shouts. “Two!” Everyone else joins in, and my attention is focused on the balloon. Excitement vibrates through me as I rub my belly. “One!”
All three arrows hit the tree at the same time, popping the balloon. Pink powder explodes, and I shriek with excitement. “It’s a girl!” Happy tears spring to my eyes as I start to jump around.
The guys shout their excitement and rush over to me. “I told you so, Sweets! I knew it would be a little princess!” Nolan laughs, sweeping me up in his arms like I weigh nothing.
I toss my head back, laughing with pure joy.
Aiden grabs my face as soon as Nolan places me on my feet. “I fucking love you, baby,” he growls, kissing me again harder.
Thomas takes my lips next. “Thank you for making us papas, and thank you for giving us a little Violet.”
“I love you,” I cry, happy tears rolling down my cheeks. “I love you all so much. And I love our baby girl.”
We stand there, hugging, having a moment as we process the fact that we’re having a girl.
Once we’re done and pull away, my best friends embrace me in a group hug, telling me how they can’t wait to spoil the baby.
Macy and Tessa come over to me last.
“Hi.” I smile.
“Congrats. I must say, I’m happy for a little girl. Aubrey is going to try and kidnap that baby, you know.” Tessa laughs.
“So, like her uncle?” I grin.
Tessa’s brows jump. “What?”
“Oh, he didn’t tell you?” I look over to Aiden who’s standing nearby talking to his dads. “Aiden!”
“Yes, baby?” he looks over at me, and I swear my heart stops.
“You didn’t tell your sister how we met?” I ask, raising an amused brow.
His smile drops. “No, he didn’t,” his mother answered for him. “How did you meet?”
“Violet,” he says in a playful warning tone.
“The pack came over and shoveled me out of my cabin. The snowstorm was so bad, it covered the door overnight.”
“Aww, that’s so nice of you, sweetie,” his mom says. “You didn’t tell me that. He just said you owned the cabin nearby, and you came over after Nolan met you at the store.”
Aiden groans, and I can’t help but laugh.
“That's partly true. But he left out the fact that as soon as I opened the door, he and Thomas realized I was their scent match. He had no plans on letting me go after that.” I laugh. “They distracted me, got me dressed, then this one.” I point to Aiden. “Tossed me over his shoulder and kidnapped me, bringing me back to their place.”
“You did not!” Tessa gasps before bursting out into laughter. “Oh my god. Okay, but why am I not surprised.”
“I’m not sorry,” Aiden growls, crossing his arms. “I knew you were mine, and I had to have you.”
“And I loved every moment of it.” I laugh, smiling wide as he pulls me into his arms.
He leans in, bringing his lips to my ear. “You're going to pay for that, Omega,” he growls, nipping at my ear.
A shiver runs through me, and I bite back a moan. “I can’t wait.”
Would it be rude to kick everyone out now? Maybe. But I want to find out what my punishment is. Like, now.
