Chapter 11
CHAPTER ELEVEN
AUDRY
I was never taking my bed for granted ever again. Being able to sleep on a soft mattress, under warm covers in a light airy room was an underrated luxury. I didn’t leave my room for the rest of the evening. For one thing, I was tired having passed an uncomfortable previous night. I luxuriated in the tub, just enjoying the feeling of hot water on my skin while jazz music played through speakers in the ceiling.
“This could be fun.”
I decided to regard this night as a holiday from my life. Nobody wanted anything from me, until morning. So, I could just pretend to be Marco Cassio’s trophy wife, my only thought to be concerned with looking pretty.
No responsibilities, no expectations.
With a long sigh, I leaned back against the back of the tub and closed my eyes, running my hands down my body, over the swell of my breasts, tweaking my nipples and then down to my belly, made concave by the way I was lying. My fingers tripped slowly downward, rubbing against the tiny hairs covering my pussy before questing inward.
I closed my eyes, thinking of Marco and how it might feel to have him there, inside of me. Just because he was a mark didn’t mean we couldn’t have a little fun. He gave off big dick energy and I was eager to explore that with him. My hand brushed over my swelled clitoris, and I moaned aloud. Then my eyes flew open, looking around to make sure I was still alone.
The room was still innocuously empty, nothing but steam and soft music present with me in the room. With a sigh I relaxed again, rubbing myself, slowly reveling in the pleasure as I undulated in the hot water. It was easy to imagine Marco there with me - a large warm presence covering me with his hot body, splitting me like a peach with his cock.
That made me moan out loud again, arching my back. I could almost feel him filling me up, so much so that I think I tricked my body into actually thinking he was. My inner muscles contracted searching for his dick as I orgasmed. I gave a long exhale before lying back in the water, eyes still closed, completely relaxed.
Tomorrow I would have to be the thief extraordinaire, but today I could just enjoy my bath.
I was woken in the morning by a knock on the door. A woman in a maid’s uniform smiled at me, while handing me a tray containing a pot of coffee and a breakfast sandwich. “You're welcome to come down to the kitchen, if you need anything more. Or at any time,” she said.
I nodded my thanks taking the tray from her. “Did Marco tell you to tell me that?” I asked out of curiosity.
“No ma'am. Mr. Valerio did.”
I cocked an eyebrow. That was the brother, as well as the underboss. I knew there were also a sister and a mother. I wondered if I would meet them. I hadn't really taken their presence into account in my infiltration strategy, mainly because they were not decision makers. But if we were all living in the same house, I might just have to.
“Thank you,” I said to the maid in dismissal, and she nodded and walked away. I watched her go before closing the door to my room and putting the tray on the bedside table. Clearly I was not a prisoner anymore, or at least my scope of movement had been widened to the rest of the house. I figured if I tried to leave the compound, someone would probably stop me.
That wasn't a concern since I had no plans to.
I reached into the pocket of my borrowed sweatpants and extracted my communicator putting it in my ear. “Good morning Kylie. And how are you today?”
“Morning boss. Did you sleep well?”
“Better than yesterday. They have me in a guest room now.”
“Progress,” she said sounding impressed.
“Yeah, sort of. It's not like they trust me, and Marco isn't exactly falling into my arms.”
“Give it time. So now what?”
“Did you did you manage to copy the files yesterday?”
“Of course. I didn't leave a trace, but you were right about them not trusting you. George checked whether you were up to something nefarious.”
“Oh really…” I grinned to myself. It was good to be respected and always nice to have a worthy foe to defeat. What fun was there in pulling off a clever heist if no one was intelligent enough to appreciate it?
“Yes really.” Kylie said, “be careful.”
“Aren't I always?”
Kylie snorted derisively and then hung up on me. I couldn't blame her – I could be known to get a little… reckless sometimes.
Once I was done with my breakfast, I sat by the window waiting to see if someone would come for me. I didn't want to presume too much by walking around unsupervised. By lunchtime no one had shown their faces so I decided to wander down to the computer lab. I wanted them to get comfortable with seeing me there.
George was hard at work, and I gave him a wave as I sat down opposite him. “What news?” I asked.
He looked up, and gave me a distracted grin, “Look I don’t really have the time right now to talk.”
I raised my hands in surrender, “I get that. I just wanted to see if there was some movement on the Triad deal.”
He nodded, eyes on his screen, “They're setting up a meeting. I assume the Capo will let you know if they need you.”
“Do you have any profiles on the current leadership. I wanna brush up on them.”
He looked up at me as if trying to assess my motives. I gave him my most wide-eyed innocent look. With a sigh he picked up a laptop and handed it over. “Knock yourself out,” he said.
“Thanks,” I answered surprised. I opened the machine and switched it on, going straight to the Internet. I expected it to be restricted but I found that I could check my mail, even send Kylie a message on my instant messenger.
“Hmm…”
George looked up, “Problem?”
“No. I was just expecting more restrictions on your machine.”
He smiled, “What good would that do? You’d just get around them, right?”
I give him a one-shouldered shrug, “Yeah well that's half the fun, isn't it?”
“No time for fun at the moment. I really suggest you get to know those Triad profiles. You never know when you might need them.”
I nodded, chastened, and got to work. We worked in companionable silence for a while and then George cleared his throat.
“Yeah?” I said, most of my attention still on the Facebook profile of one Zhang Chonglin, first born son of the local Triad Dragon Head. He was currently attending Yale on a full scholarship, studying business and biochemistry.
Impressive.
There were a few photos on the profile, nothing connecting him to his father Zhang Heoran, but a few with other family members including his mother and a sister. The sister was apparently older and currently living in Shanghai. Her job was listed as ‘marketing’ and she was married with two kids.
“Interesting.”
“What?” George asked.
“Nothing. Just talking to myself.” I said. I looked up. “Did you ask me something?”
“Uh… no. I was just wondering if you know someone named Amy Mercer?”
“Who?” I furrowed my brow wondering where I'd heard that name before.
George shook his head, “Never mind. My mistake.”
I stared at him for a while my eyes narrowed. There was something more to this, but I couldn't quite put my finger on why I thought so. With a mental shrug I got back to memorizing the dragon head’s family tree.
Feeling a little bit at a loose end, I decided to venture downstairs and see what could be had for dinner. To my surprise I ran into Valerio at the bottom of the stairs and he smiled at me, offering me his arm. “Are you going into dinner?” He asked.
I shrugged. “I suppose so? I just wanted to see if I can get something to eat.”
He nodded, “Follow me.”
He led me to a fairly large dining room, with a table that could seat at least ten people. There were three people seated at one end of the table, Marco and two women.
Marco looked up at me and I gave a small nod.
“Hi.”
He got to his feet, “Am- uh, Audry, I wasn't expecting you.”
“I hope I'm not intruding,” I replied with a grimace.
“Ohh no, no, no,” the older woman said gesturing towards one of the chairs, “please sit.” She kept her eyes on me the entire time that I moved around the table and took the seat she indicated next to the other girl.
“Mother,” Marco said, “this is Audry Martin. She's helping us with a project.”
His mother continued to stare at me. “Is that so? And how long will you be with us, Audry ?” She asked and I frowned wondering at the emphasis on my name.
“I'm not sure,” I replied, “I guess that's up to your son.”
Mother and son exchanged a loaded glance I couldn't quite interpret. The sister turned to me. “Hi I'm Lucia, Marco’s little sister.”
I held out my hand to shake. “Pleasure.” I murmured and smiled.
“So, where did Marco find you?” She asked, her eyes bright with interest.
“Well funny story, I stole from him.”
The mother gave a surprised laugh but Lucia looked at me as if she couldn't quite believe her ears. “Are you serious?”
“As a heart attack.” I said with aplomb.
