Epilogue
Three years later…
The sweet sounds of my wife singing lead me into the newly built nursery. She’s up a ladder with the electric drill, humming along to some God awful pop tune.
I frown and cross the room, stepping over the boxes of baby gear and colorful toys that have been flowing in from well wishers on the mountain.
“Get down from there.”
She gives me a winning smile that makes my heart lighter but stays where she is.
“I’m fine, Jagger. I’m only on the second rung.”
I know better than to argue with my wife, so instead I hold the step ladder while keeping a close eye on the bump that she’s carrying.
While Izzie was away finishing her studies, I got to work extending the cabin. My once tiny home for a man and his dog is now a five bedroom palace fit for my queen.
We created the design together, planning the layout and dreaming about the children we’d have to fill it.
Now we’re finally getting to decorate the nursery waiting for our baby girl to arrive.
Landon finally came around to the idea of the two of us together, helped in no small part by the young woman who captured his heart and became the second Mrs. Laker.
Izzie got a job straight out of graduation as a nurse practitioner on the mountain, exactly what she wanted. She’s cutting down to part time hours after the baby comes. Her mother would be proud.
“Does that look straight?”
I step back to check the picture she’s hanging. It’s an elephant family in a line linked together trunk to tail.
My gaze slides off the picture and to my wife’s butt, which looks exceptionally good today in her stretchy pregnancy leggings.
“Perfect.”
But my mind’s on other things as she steps off the ladder. I slide my arms around her waist and pull her into me. Her pot belly bumps against us, and I spin her around so her ass rubs against me instead.
Izzie’s hair whips in my face, and her scent fills my senses.
“You need a break, baby girl?”
I nuzzle her neck, and in response she pushes her hips back and grinds against me.
“You know I do.”
Ever since she got pregnant, my wife’s been hornier than usual. And I’m more than happy to satisfy her every need.
I kiss her neck and run my hand down her belly and in between her legs.
“Not in here.” She giggles. “It’s the baby’s room.”
I press her up against the wall and tug at her leggings.
“Which is why we need to christen it before she arrives.”
My wife concedes as I help her wiggle out of her leggings. She tilts her ass up and gives a delicate sigh as my cock slides between her slick folds.
I never thought a woman like Izzie would want me, but every day that I wake up beside her, I give thanks to whoever I need to thank for bringing down that once in a lifetime storm and delivering her into my arms.
