Chapter 13 #2

She was grinning against my lips as I slowly eased her robe off her shoulders…

Yeah, this was better than being Mated. This was a choice—our choice—and it was perfect.

Later, Kesha was lying across my chest as the sun slowly set out of the window. I could feel her drifting in and out of sleep, and my Kteer purred in contentment—not peace, because the damned thing still wasn’t satisfied…but contentment.

“What are you thinking about?” she asked me suddenly, and I had to focus.

“I suppose…how nice this is, to have time alone with you.”

She hummed and wriggled, her ass cradling my finally limp cock. “Yeah, but you know what’s weird? I miss the boys.”

My arms tightened around her. “Not weird. I miss them too. I guess we’ll have to limit ourselves to nighttime activities from here on, but I’ll bet Brak and Jocelyn would take them once a month.”

“Then we can have all sorts of fun—”

Somewhere in the house, my phone began to ring. Kesha pushed herself upright and cocked her brow at me.

“Ignore it,” I murmured, reaching for her.

But when my phone stopped ringing and hers began, she pushed herself off me, rolled from the bed, and hurried after it. I could feel her spike of happiness when she picked up. “Joss! Everything okay?”

I didn’t hear the other end of the conversation, but Kesha came hurrying back, a smile on her face.

“We miss you too, boys. Dad and I were just saying that. Hold on, I’m going to put you on speaker.”

She did, and climbed back into bed with me, and I held her as we listened to our sons tripping over themselves to tell us what adventures they’d had that day. We were each appropriately impressed, and Kesha was the one to ask, “What’s on the agenda tomorrow?”

Milo blurted, “We’re going to the beach in the morning, then in the afternoon we’re going to work on our fort.”

“The one in the woods?” I asked.

Jay cut in with, “It’s a secret.”

“Secret fort, got it.” Kesha winked at me. “Just be safe guys, okay? Dad’s going to be picking you up at five tomorrow evening, so be back at your aunt and uncle’s by three to help them clean up.”

Milo sighed, and I heard Jay hush him. “We will, Mom, don’t worry. I’ll take care of T’mak, he’s my responsibility.”

“I love you both,” Kesha said, and I leaned over her shoulder to call, “Love you, boys. Goodnight.”

“Night, Mom! Night, Dad,” they both chorused, and then the line went dead.

Kesha was grinning when she tossed the phone aside and turned to me.

“Sounds like we have until five tomorrow evening, husband. We should make good use of our time.”

I twitched a brow. “What do you have in mind?”

“Well…” She made a show of pushing me back against the pillows and swinging one leg over my waist to straddle me. “I thought I’d climb on top of your cock and ride you until we both came three or four times.”

My cock stirred against her ass as my hands went to her hips. “Three or four times, huh?”

“Oh, yeah.” Her hands caressed my shoulders, my chest. “Think you can manage that?”

And I, grinning, made a show of sighing, even as I settled her into position. “Work, work, work…”

I made her come five times before she called for a break and fell asleep on top of me.

I let her rest for a few hours before my Kteer’s demands became too much to bear, and I flipped her over and licked her from behind until she came twice more.

I slid into her, allowing her to come on my cock again, before withdrawing and settling between her legs again.

It was like I couldn’t get enough of her pleasure, of bringing her to climax. As many times as I came, it was her pleasure my Kteer demanded.

I don’t think she got much sleep that night.

But I got even less; my Kteer kept me awake, even just staring down at her in my arms. It was insatiable, like a song that kept cycling back to a chorus it hadn’t finished yet, and I decided this sensation—of more more claim fuck mine mine more now—was even stronger than the Mating Heat I’d experienced so long ago.

Once, Kesha stirred, her eyes opening in the dark. I didn’t think she was truly awake, but she hummed. “Your eyes are glowing.”

“What?” I startled.

“Your eyes are green,” she mumbled. “Again.”

Again? I frowned. “Sometimes that happens when an orc is in the throes of some sort of emotion.”

Her lips curls as she snuggled closer. “What kind of emotion?”

“I’ll show you,” I growled, lowering my lips to her skin.

Her fingers curled in my hair as she sighed, “I love you, Korrad.”

Yeah, that emotion.

I loved her so much that my eyes were glowing? I’d never heard of that before, and made a mental note to ask Giza, the older male who lived in town, if he’d ever heard of it. The only other time my eyes had glowed was when I was first Mated to Sharra…

Kesha mentioned it again the next morning, and after I fed her, licked her pussy until she came twice more, and tucked her in for a nap, I studied my reflection in the bathroom mirror.

Yeah, my eyes were glowing, and I couldn’t explain why.

The sight made my Kteer growl, a strange reaction I couldn’t place.

My whole chest felt itchy, like something was out of place, something wasn’t finalized…

I realized my claws were digging into my skin, as if I could scratch that itch away. But I couldn’t—my whole body felt on edge, confused. As if I was missing something important.

Something to do with Kesha.

Shaking my head, I went back to her. We still had a few more hours, and there were a few places I hadn’t fucked her yet…

By Sunday afternoon, we were both worn out. My cock could barely twitch, but my Kteer still wasn’t silent, urging me to claim her again. I was frustrated with the damned thing, but it didn’t seem to matter.

Kesha was dozing on my chest when my phone rang. I picked it up to check the time. Three-thirty. In ninety minutes I’d go get the boys, and our little vacation from reality would be over.

“Who’s calling?” Kesha murmured.

“Brak. Probably has a question about the boys. He’ll text.”

I went to put the phone down again when it buzzed—a text message.

CALL ME ASAP. CAN’T FIND THE BOYS.

I sat up so fast I dislodged Kesha, and my fingers shook as I clicked his number. As soon as he picked up, I barked, “You’re on speaker. Tell us everything.”

I could hear my brother’s stress through the line. “The boys were supposed to be back here thirty minutes ago. They said they were going to their fort, and you let them go all the time.”

Kesha’s nails were digging into my forearm—I could feel her panic, matching mine. “We do. That’s where they said they were going this afternoon, right?”

“Do you know where it is?” Brak snapped. “We don’t. Joss is searching the beach, I’m in the woods.”

“It’s behind our house, that’s all I know.” I glanced at Kesha, who was already pushing herself to her feet.

She leaned over the phone to say to my brother, “We’ll meet you in the woods in five minutes.” Then she met my eyes. “I’m going to get dressed. Don’t even think about telling me to stay home.”

I was shaking my head as I hung up on my brother. “I wouldn’t.”

“Good,” she called over her shoulder as she hurried toward the bedroom. “Because those are my babies out there, and I’m going to find them.”
