Epilogue 2

BENNY.

Four Months Later

“You look so beautiful, Ma,” I told her as I handed her the bouquet.

“Thank you, baby.” She exhaled slowly. “Ooft. Really thought the nerves wouldn’t be so bad the second time.”

“You love him, and he loves you. Nothin’ else matters.”

She nodded. “You think your pa would be happy?”

“Hey.” I stepped in, pressing a kiss to her perfectly styled hair. “Pa would want you to be happy. You know that.”

“Yeah. Yeah, I know. Nerves. Really never thought I’d be here again.”

“I’m glad you are.”

She nodded. “Me too. Hey, this kind of makes you and Harper stepbrothers, huh?”

“Yep, so we’re just gonna stop that thought right there. Come on. It’s time.”

Ma hooked her arm in mine, and the music began to play as I walked her down the aisle.

The wedding was mostly family, or at least it was supposed to be before Ma did what she was always going to do and invited absolutely anyone who had the vaguest interest in attending.

There were employees and regular clients from my gym. Rachel and some of her new coworkers from Noctis Tech. The boys and their close friends from their new school.

Rook was here with his partner—a guy who most people seemed to find very off-putting, but they seemed completely obsessed with each other, so as long as Rook was happy…

Rook’s bandmates were here too, and there was just about every color I could think of between them. They seemed like nice people. Rikky was here too, of course, with his surprising date.

And Harper. My beautiful prince, Harper. He stood next to Matthew at the alter in a suit that looked far too good.

I tried to focus on the ceremony. On Ma and Matthew, and the love that was undeniably between them. She was so happy with him. And he fit so perfectly into our family.

But my attention kept pulling back to Harper like a magnet. I was stupid in love with the guy. We all knew it, so why not stare at him?

He caught onto it pretty quickly, and at first his eyes had flicked back to the officiant, trying to divert my attention to where everyone else’s seemed to be. But he was all I could see.

He gave up after a while, though, and simply stared back at me with a look that promised punishment and pleasure after we went back to our room at the resort.

It wouldn’t be long until it was our wedding. We hadn’t picked a date yet, but we weren’t in a rush.

I loved being his fiancé, and I knew I’d love being his husband. And his submissive. His pup. His business partner. His soldier. His willing slave. I’d love being anything as long as it was his.

And I was. His. And he was mine. We were each other’s. Had been from the moment we’d met, before I’d ever seen his perfect face.

We were made for each other, and I couldn’t wait to spend the rest of my life with him.

THE END.
