“What was that for? “ Stephen asked Michael
“Nothing much; it’s just that I advised her to marry, and she reacted like this. By the way, I am impressed with you, Stephen. I mean, you beat me in taking care of her."
Stephen didn’t understand what he meant, so Michael educated him about the points that Eva narrated to him. Stephen rubbed the back of his neck in anxiety as didn’t know what to reply to Michael
"Relax, Stephen. I know one thing for sure: my princess will be safe with you."
"So... did she...? Steve couldn’t hold his curiosity
“No.. Not yet, but she will. It’s her nature, or, you can say, a special behavior that is reserved for me only.
Whenever I suggested something to her, she used to deny it first, and later she agreed for the same.
For example, when I left her at your place, she had a fierce argument followed by a crying session but at last she agreed, “
Both the brothers chuckled at his words
“So it’s the rebel period going on."
“But where did she leave?”
“Nothing just to grab some coffee and discuss this issue with her three supporters.“
“You mean her friends?"
“Yes, if she was at our home, she must have invited them at our home and made some cookies for them along with a running commentary about my dictatorship."
They all shared a laugh, and then Stephen recalled something he asked the security team:
“Where is your madam? “
“She is at a nearby restaurant, busy with some calls. She advises us to stay outside. are monitoring her.”"
“Hmm, ok, but don’t leave her from your sight for a single moment. Am I clear?"
“Yes sir,”
Stephen disconnected the call and informed Michael how accurate was his guess
At the Restaurant
Eva was furious at her dad’s words and his support towards Stephen.; she doesn’t even imagine staying near to Stephen, although
never misbehaved, but still, his personality was so intimidating, which made her nervous.
Marrying him is out of context for her, but her dad is confident that he is the perfect man for her.
She talked with her friends and shared her feelings with the people who would understand her dilemma. So after ordering a coffee, she did a video call to her friends
The trio listened to her carefully, and no one disturbed her in between her talk. The moment she finishes her words,
She glances at the screen in expectation of receiving some reaction, but to her dismay, the three friends are gawking at her with mouths hanging open.
"What? Why are you looking at me like this? Tell me, what should I do? Suddenly,”
Suddenly, a loud squeal from her three friends startled Eva
Madison was the first one to react". Oh my God, are you seriously going to wed my... stefu? No ... it means he is not my anymore. “
Sara smirked. “See, didn’t I tell you he loves you?. You know my guess is never wrong."
Before she could say more, Jacey Jacey smacked on Sara’s head, “You bitch! You know about this, still you hide this from us.

Eva didn’t react and disconnected the call.
She then noticed the coffee in rage and gulped the coffee in one go.
She returned to the Smith mansion; she asked for the check, paid the amount, and stood up to leave. But suddenly her head started spinning, and she felt an urge to throw up.
So she reached the washroom of the restaurant. While moving towards the washroom, her vision started getting blurred and her steps stumbled, but she managed to reach the washroom with great difficulty
She threw up whatever she had since morning; after that, she washed her face and was going to exit the washroom, but the dizziness boosted, and before she could know it, darkness consumed her.
Two men dressed in the staff uniform were quick enough to pick her up from the floor. They wanted to perform their work, which was to kill Eva
But before they could do any harm to her, they heard some loud footsteps, which made the two of them panic, as their boss had given explicit instructions to kill the girl and not to leave any proof behind.
Till now, the plan was going smoothly. They drugged the coffee and were waiting for her to reach the washroom, but what they missed was Stephen’s security, keeping a keen eye on Eva’s movements. They noticed how Eva’s steps were slipping when she was walking towards the washroom.
The security in charge also reached the lobby of the washroom and was waiting for her.
The assassin understood they couldn’t kill Eva in these situations. So they started searching for another way. It was observed that on the opposite side of the washroom lobby, there exists a cold storage room designated for the storage of frozen items for the restaurant.
They dragged Eva on the other end of the lobby and pushed her inside the cold storage room and smoothly exited the restaurant., as they were dressed like employees
The security head sent a female employee to search the restroom, but she didn’t locate Eva in any restroom.
In the hospital
Michael was busy in discussions about the wedding with Stephen, Steve and William
Stephen was listening to him when a message popped up on his mobile, followed by a call
Stephen read the message first, then excused himself to attend the call before he reached the lobby.
“What the hell did you mean by Eva missing?
“Sir, we are searching for her.""
“Send me the address I am reaching there
Stephen messages Steve to accompany him and also not to tell the elders.
In a few moments, they reached the restaurant; they found their men were still searching for Eva
The security head got nervous, spotting an enraged Stephen moving towards him
“Sir. Madam, who was here only, left for the washroom, and we were waiting for her. Later, we checked, but she was not present in the washroom
“Is there any other exit for this restaurant?"
sir, the entrance which you used is the only way to enter and exit this restaurant. “
Stephen raked his fingers through his hair; his fear of losing Eva was increasing every passing moment
“I think we should inform the cops, “Steve suggested
Stephen was going to agree when he spotted some employees who reached to the manager and asked for some frozen food needed for preparation
The manager was nervous with the presence of the Smith brothers and also by the lady who went missing. Still, he asked the security headenter the lobby where the search was going on
Stephen asked the security head, ”Is there some room too that they are asking for?"
"Sir, it’s at the end of the lobby," themanager replied persistently
Stephen asked his man, “Did you check it?
The security head shook his head and the next moment Stephen, Steve, and the security head rushed towards the room
They all barged into the small room and the. Sight in front shattered Stephen’s heart into million pieces as Eva was lying on the floor on her stomach; her head was bleeding and her body was looking white
Stephen quickly pulled her in his arms and Steve quickly covered her with the suit jacket Stephen patted on her cheek
“Eva, open your eyes.”
but she stayed unconscious
Both the brothers exited the restaurant in haste and got settled in the car, which started running for the hospital
Steve was rubbing cold feet and Stephen held her close to give her the warmth of his body
The security head was still trying to comprehend how she reached the cold storage room. He was also worried, looking at her condition. He informed the hospital about the urgency of the situation
The moment their car entered the hospital premises, some staff members rushed near the car with the stretcher. But Stephen was so frightened that he was not ready to leave Eva.
Steve tried to handle him
“Stephen, I understand your fear, but she needs medical attention now. Please try to understand “
Stephen nodded and made Eva settle on the stretcher. They hurried her to the emergency room where doctors were waiting to check on her.
Stephen slumped on a chair outside the room, whereas Steve informed William, who reached the emergency room. He spotted Stephen in a devastated state
He reached Stephen first, but Stephen was already in tears. He was still living when he held her senseless body in his arms. Her lips were blue, and her skin was pale white “I will die if something happens to her. I can’t leave without her dad.”
