Chapter 51 Doubts
That night Eva couldn’t sleep in suspicion of Stephen, although he tried nothing inappropriate with her, but the moment he held her close to himself was still running through his mind.

Eva murmured some curses in her mind and then told him,
“I am fine here."
“No! You are not, as you continuously like to move around the bed in your sleep, and that couch is not good for that. I hope you know this: “
Eva closed her eyes tightly in frustration as Stephen was telling the truth, which her friends always used to tell her after their night stay
Eva slowly stood up to her feet, wrapped her blanket around her and picked her pillow too
She reached to one side of the bed and tried to get some sleep
"See, it was not tough. Goodnight, wife."
But Eva never responded to him, and Stephen just sighed at her hardheadedness
The next morning when Eva woke, she didn’t find Stephen in the room, and

After finishing her morning routine, she left for the dining room. She could hear some chatting voices from the room. When she enters the room. Eva found a beautiful young lady dressed in classy clothes who was busy in chatting with Stephen
Eva noticed herself. She was wearing a pair of shorts and a t-shirt that had cartoon print on it. Her hair tied is in a messy bun; she felt a little out of place looking at the dressing style of the woman in the front bun.
Stephen noticed her presence and called for her. ” Eva, we were waiting for you. “
It surprised Eva at his honey-coated tone but then she recalled about his words to act like a perfect couple, so she gave a warm smile at him and reached near him
Stephen pulled her by her waist and placed a kiss on her side of head
“Good morning, love, hope you had a good sleep.“
Eva gave a fake smile at him. and just nodded
“Meet her. She is Samantha, founder of a well-known beauty brand and also the heiress of a famous clothing brand, and Samantha meets my lifeline, my wife Eva.
“Come on, Stephen, tell her the most important thing. Wait, I tell you, I have been his friend since college days. “

“Eva, Samantha is here to help
“What help?”
“Let me finish with my words, wife. She is here to guide you with some professional tips to handle business as a lady and how to deal with different business people. Some essential etiquettes which will help you proceed in the business world “
It amazed Eva to know this, but then she looked at Samantha, who gave a reassuring smile at her. Somehow Eva felt insulted by Stephen‘s words. It’s true that she doesn’t belong to a rich household, but still, she was sure that her father gave her the best upbringing
She kept her tears at bay and told them,
“I don’t think I need any teaching from. anyone. Excuse me."
Without waiting for their reaction, Eva left the room in long strides. Stephen exhale a breath to keep his anger in check and apologized to Samantha
“It’s your fault, Stephen. You must have informed her before calling me here. “
“Yeah, you are right; I understand this now. Let me talk to her."
Stephen entered the room and was shocked to see Eva packing her bags
“What are you doing? “
Eva didn’t reply to him, which enraged Stephen. He pulled her from her elbow and make her face him
“I am asking you something.”
“How does it matter to you? I am done with your nonsense. I told you earlier too, and I’m telling you again I am not interested in that Hudson business. He can keep that money to himself.
“You know that this is not possible, “Stephen replied.
"Look, Stephen, I know you are trying to help me and my dad. That’s why you agreed to marry me.”
“Eva, listen to me."
“No. You listen to me. I know I don’t belong here, in your high society, between elite people. But you don’t have to rub it on my face as you just did in front of your friend.
Anyway, what could I expect more from a heartless man like you? So now I am leaving for LA, and you stay here with your friend and enjoy your so-called honeymoon."
Before Eva could move forward, Stephen held her close by her waist. Till now, Eva kept talking in her rage. She didn’t even notice his reaction but now, looking at his red eyes and heavy breathing, she understood she enraged him to the highest point
“Heartless.. Okay, I agree. I am heartless, as I lost my heart to you at our very first meeting. And what do you think I married you just to help your dad and to keep you safe? No, Mrs. Smith, I married you because I am madly in love with you.”
Eva gasped at his words. Stephen exhaled a breath to calm his rage, then he noticed her scared face. He just wiped her tears with his thumb and get settled on the couch, pulling her with him and making her settle in his lap
“I know you don’t have any feelings for me, and I don’t blame you, as I am terrible at expressing my emotions. I don’t want to push you to accept me or love me, but at least you can trust me. I know for now everything is difficult for both of us, but you have to keep trusting in me. “
Eva kept listening to him with her eyes down; she could sense the honesty in his words.
“We both are not interested in the Hudson Empire, but my only interest is to keep you safe from them. And for that, we have to face them. as we don't have any other option in hand.”
“I called Samantha to help you. Her experience in this field allows her to guide you the best. And trust me, I never, in my thought, insulted. I am so sorry I offended you.”
Eva gave a nod to him, so Stephen continued
“I just thought of something to finish this Hudson problem forever, but for that, I need your support and trust in me. Don’t trust me just because I am your husband; trust.
Me as your friend. Can you do it for me?”
Eva nodded and Stephen gave a smile at her
"Remember, I love my clumsy, naive Eva the most, but now it’s compulsory to face the world; you must keep carrying a facade of a tough and smart businesswoman
So now are you ok with Samantha or should I send her back? “
Eva gaped at him and told him,
“Sorry for losing my cool, and I trust you, or else I should not have married you. Don’t send her back. I am fine with her.
‘Thank you, dear; now just freshen up and meet us in the hall.’
Eva nodded, and Stephen left the room. Soon after, Eva attained the living room and she first
reached near Samantha to apologize
“Sorry for being rude."
Samantha patted her shoulder and told her, “it’s ok, I understand, Now shall we begin?“
Eva gave a nod. The rest of the day, Samantha kept giving her guidance. At first glance, Eva was believing her as an arrogant lady, but to her surprise, she was very sweet with her
