Chapter 65 Friends Again
It was evening time when Eva returned home, as she had to get ready for the upcoming party too. Rose already called her to remind her about the party.
On the way home, she kept thinking about the meeting, precisely Harry’s behavior. She wanted to have a talk with him after the meeting got completed but before she could approach him, Harry had already left the office.
Rose was glad to see her on time, and Eva was relieved that she returned home before Stephen’s arrival .Now she will get enough time to discuss last night ‘s occurrences with him and will try her best to clear his misunderstanding.
It was never that she didn’t enjoy the intimate moment between them; Stephen always took care of her comfort in those moments and never forced any action on her. She refused that time because of tiredness and she was just wishing for some rest.
She changed into her eyes, which was a gown, which fitted to her perfectly and all her curves were perceptible. eyes,
Eva was all ready to attend the party and kept waiting for Stephen. When Rose observed Eva’s clothes, and she complimented her look. And then she informed Eva that Stephen’s messaged her about his change of plan, as now he is going to join her directly at the hotel where the party is arranged
Eva gave a nod at Rose but she felt bad about how Stephen must have informed her too , but she could easily understand the reason behind his action.
Rose noticed sadness on her face so she added
“ Stephen was trying to call you but you didn’t attend his call; that’s why he called me. I told Stephen that you must be busy in the closet; maybe that’s why you missed his calls.”

Soon after Eva started her journey towards the mentioned hotel venue, all the way she kept fidgeting with her fingers in nervousness
As Eva was heading to attend a party where she doesn’t even know who the host couple is, it would have been much better if Stephen had already accompanied her. What if she reaches before Stephen? Then how will she handle the situation?
And her fear came true when the car halted and she stepped down from the car, her vision blurred by the flash lights of numerous cameras.
Eva was scared to notice the media around her; she was not expecting this type of party, but now she understood why the Smith family did not want to miss this party. Smith
Eva tried to calm down her anxiety and walked towards the entrance of the party hall
The guards were on alert around her.
While stepping up to the party hall , suddenly her heel got twisted, and she felt she was falling down before touching the ground Someone held her hand and make her stand on her feet
Eva thought it must be some one of her security team, but to her surprise, it was harry Hudson who was holding her hand, helping her to balance herself
The media captured this moment without any delay, Eva tried to pull her hand from his but harry whispered
“ It’s ok; I don’t want you to fall. I will help you.
“Thanks for earlier but I don’t need your help.'
Eva jerked her hand and again lost her balance. Harry once again held her hand.
And without waiting for her reaction, he started moving towards the party hall along with Eva .
The moment they entered the hall, Harry released her hand from his hold and went towards the guests. Eva was shocked to see his behavior
“ Idiot," Eva muttered some curses for him
Soon Mr miller entered the hall and guided Eva to meet the host couple, He forwarded her the gift box, which Eva passed to the couple
The host couple greeted Eva warmly and requested that she enjoy the party
Eva settled in at a table; she asked Miller about Stephen . But Mr. Miller has no idea about Stephen ‘s whereabouts.
Eva was not expecting this kind of behavior from Stephen , although she has a clear idea that Stephen is upset withStill, this type of behavior was not expected from him
Eva was busy in her thoughts when a glass of soft drink came to her vision. She peeked at the person and found Harry holding the glass for her. Eva sighed and held the glass.
"So, Mrs. Smith where is your knight in shining armor, I mean, Mr Stephen Smith. “
“He is on the way."
“Hmm, ok.”
“Harry, can I ask you something ?”
“ Yes , shoot."
“ Why did you agree to my words in the meeting?”
“Because that was the right thing to do, no matter whatever differences we hold, I keep my company above all differences and this morning you made the right decision for the benefit of the company so I have to agree.”
Eva gave a nod and started, “ That’s good to know. Anyway, it’s only you who took me as an enemy; I never thought in this way about you."
“Eva.. I always thought of you as a friend, but these circumstances made us eventually competitors. But no matter what, I can assure you that I will never wish harm for you.”
"Harry, if you are again trying to say something inappropriate about my husband or my family, then there is no way I am going to talk with you."
“ Don’t worry, I am not going to do anything like this; rather, now I will just wait for the day when you can see the truth about the people whom you trust. most”
“That day will never come, “ Eva confidently replied .
“ Ok that we will see but till then we can be friends , right?”
Eva gave a nod at him before they could discuss something more The waiter served the cake to both of them
The moment they spotted the piece of cake, a smile appeared on their faces
“ Now let’s play my favorite game."
“ What game?”
“Guess the ingredients of this cake and we will take turns to guess. Whoever guesses more will win."
“ Then be ready to lose Mrs. Smith, as I am too good in this."
“ That we will see Mr. Hudson."
Soon they took the first bite and started guessing the ingredients one by one, Harry proved to be a tough competitor for Eva but atlast Eva won
They shook hands while Harry congratulated her. Eva accepted his wishes with a smile , but the next moment she felt an arm snake around her waist
“Someone is having a wonderful time here."
Eva doesn’t have to guess it was Stephen who’s cold voice made her shiver; she noticed Stephen was giving a cold glare at Harry.
Harry just sighed He left the table and moved to the other side of the hall
Eva spun around and gazed at Stephen
“Where were you? I was waiting for you.
“Sorry, wife , Just some last-minute meeting. You did meet the anniversary couple ?
‘ Yes, I did."
“ Ok then, came with me. I want you to meet some other business associates and then we will leave."
Eva didn’t argue much and left with Stephen
After meeting some of Stephen's business associates, they decided to leave for home .
The journey home was a quiet one, as Stephen didn’t say a word and Eva didn’t want to have any conversation in front of the chauffeur .
After reaching home, when Eva stepped inside the room, she found some lights appearing from the balcony of her room. In uncertainty, she entered the balcony and gasped , as there was a beautiful arrangement for candlelight dinner.
Stephen smoked at her delighted face and hugged her from behind
“ What is this Stephen?”
“ Tomorrow is the weekend; I thought to make this night special. After all, it’s the weekend tomorrow so no office work for us. Do you like it?”
Eva spun around and pressed her lips on his. Stephen held her close while responding to this kiss, which has now turned into a passionate kiss.
After breaking the kiss, Eva hugged him and told him
“ I just loved this, and thank you for understanding me. I am really sorry if I hurt your feelings that day.
“Shh.. Why did you think like this? I was indeed upset for some time. To be honest, I like the way you told me about your distress. I know that I am not an expressive man, not romantic either, but I love you, Eva, and I never want to hurt you in any way.”
Eva smiled and hugged more into him.
“ Thank you, Stephen, for coming into my life.”

Liam looked at the pictures, where Harry was giving support to Eva; his men were gaping at him while waiting for his next order.
“Good job , fantastic. Go with the plan and tomorrow every leading newspaper must have this picture on the very front page .Am I clear?”
