Chapter 29 #2

“Perfecto!” Kieran replied. “I can find Queenie’s mate and pick out the outfits for Theo and Norm to wear when they get married, cause they need my help otherwise I have no idea what they’ll look like and I need them to fit in with the color theme of their wedding.

I was thinking Norm could wear a gray suit with a light blue shirt and Theo could wear a blue suit with a light gray shirt and then matching ties that have both blue and grey in them and maybe a little pink because you know that’s good luck at a wedding. ”

“I thought something blue was good luck,” Logan said.

“No, it’s something pink…huh…but just in case it’s blue, we also have that covered, although I don’t understand why someone would think blue would bring good luck when blue is such a sad color.

You know, like ‘I’m feeling blue’ but you really mean ‘I’m feeling sad’ but I don’t think that, which is a good thing because Theo wants blue and white flowers for his wedding.

If I can’t find a tie with pink, I have a back-up plan…

pink underwear and socks. Isn’t that clever? ”

“A very good idea.” Logan smiled. “Now, why were you waiting for me?”

“Q wants to join our pack but since Hunter is a member, I wasn’t sure if that made Q a member too, but in case it doesn’t we came up with a plan that I need your help with.

I thought if Q did a petition and everyone signed it then Alpha would have to make Q a member and it would make Q feel so good because all of his friends are members…

and did you know Q doesn’t have any other friends except me, Theo, Norm, Fi, and David?

Isn’t that sad? But if he was a member then he’d feel like this was really his home. Don’t you agree?”

“I think Quin is a member because of Hunter but I’ll talk to Jackson to make sure if I’m right.”

“Oh! That would be the bestest thing ever!” Kieran exclaimed, his eyes shining with delight. “Wait till I tell Q!”

“Babe, don’t say anything until I confirm it with Jackson.”

“What if you’re wrong?” asked Kieran, suddenly alarmed at the possibility.

“Then I’ll ask Jackson if he’ll accept a petition from Quin. One way or another, I promise you, Quin will be a member of the Blackwood Pack,” Logan said, hugging his mate.

“Oh, my goodness! You are the bestest mate ever! And I mean ever!” Kieran exclaimed, wiggling his ass. “Do you want to go and do our fucking dance?”

Carson’s eyes snapped open when something woke him up, prompting a growl from his wolf.

Checking on him, he found his wolf standing with his hackles bristling.

Not good! Remaining still, he listened before hearing the faint squeak of their bedroom door as someone opened it.

He slowly slipped his arms from around his sleeping mate and got ready to shift, knowing it was the best defense against an intruder bent on hurting Remy.

“Reemeee!” A soft, low voice cried.

Now alert, Carson saw Galen, tears glistening on his face, silhouetted in the faint hallway light, clutching a well-loved teddy bear.

His heart melting, Carson slowly slid out of bed, glad his mate suggested they put pajama pants on before falling to sleep.

“Hey, did you have a bad dream?” he murmured.

“Uh-huh,” Galen whispered, rubbing the tears away.

“Then it’s a good thing you came here,” Carson said.

“Why?” asked Galen.

“Because my wolf knows how to chase bad dreams away so you’ll only have happy dreams when you sleep,” Carson whispered.

“Really?” Galen asked, doubtfully.

“Really…all you have to do is sit in my lap and then my wolf will find the dream that’s bad and chase it away,” Carson murmured, holding his arms wide.

Galen stared at Carson for a moment before flying into his welcoming embrace, burying his face against Carson’s chest.

Slowly rubbing the boy’s small, bony back, Carson said nothing, waiting until Galen’s breathing evened out. Then he murmured, “My wolf is ready…go ahead, tell him about your dream so he can make it go away. ”

“They wuz in my room…I wuz hiding…”

A sob broke free and Carson felt the wetness of tears on his chest as Galen clung to him. Hugging the boy close to him, he murmured, “You’re okay now, sweetie. My wolf found the bad dream and chased it away.”

After a few more minutes, Galen sniffled a few times, trying to catch his breath. “Is it gone forever?”

“Maybe…but if it comes back, you just let me know and my wolf will chase it away again.”

“O…kay,” Galen whispered.

“C’mon, let’s go back to sleep,” Carson murmured.

“Can I sleep with you?” Galen asked, his tear-stained face looking up at his new-found hero.

“Yup,” Carson whispered, setting Galen on his feet before standing. “Climb up…you can sleep between us, just be careful not to wake Remy.” Following the boy onto the bed, he pulled the covers over them, then gave Galen a kiss on his cheek. “Go to sleep, sweetie. My wolf will stand guard.”

“I luv you Carsso,” Galen whispered, “and also your wolf.”

“I love you, too, buddy…sweet dreams.”

Remy listened until their breathing told him they were asleep. His heart melted when he heard Carson comforting Galen. Chuckling quietly at his mate’s solution to the problem, he knew it was going to be so much fun teasing Carson about his bad dream wolf catcher.
