Chapter 32 #2

Giving his twin another hug, Sawyer wiped his eyes before stepping back. “Bye Mac…see you in two weeks.” Turning on his heels, Sawyer quickly left before his brother could glimpse the tears threatening to fall. Brushing aside his unexpected sadness at leaving, he headed out to chase his dream.

After saying goodbye to Oracle, Carson joined his cousin and Fionn in the living room; both of them were beaming at him.

Sitting down, he said nothing, knowing anything he’d say would only give them more opportunity to rag him about his gift.

Waiting for Remy to finish a call with his foreman, he sent a message to Cody and Colton, telling them he’d found his Fated Mate.

After his meltdown before he’d left, he knew they were worried about him, so much so, they’d wholeheartedly endorsed his plan to find a new job elsewhere.

“Mate, he’s ignoring us,” Fionn pouted.

“Does look that way, pet,” replied Hunter. “Know what I think?”

“Uh-uh…what?”

“I think we have time for some lovin’.” Grabbing Fionn, Hunter settled his mate on his lap facing him. “Comfy?”

Wiggling his ass, Fionn giggled, “Yes, sir!”

“Good,” Hunter murmured, pulling Fionn’s head down, their lips touching together.

“Oh, for fuck’s sake! Stop it, you two! I don’t want Galen and Eamon to see that kinda shit when they’re around you.”

Peering around Fionn, Hunter winked at Carson. “What’s the problem, cuz? We’re just trying to help you by demonstrating…”

“I don’t need any help and certainly the boys don’t need demonstrations of Fionn humping you,” Carson growled. “Anyway, don’t you have something else to do?”

“We do,” replied Fionn, climbing off Hunter’s lap. “Remy’s going to show us around the winery…remember, at lunch…he invited us?”

Fuck! How could I have forgotten that? “Peachy…could you guys at least keep any sexual shit under wraps? And for gods’ sake, don’t you dare embarrass me or my mate in front of the employees. ”

Looking at Hunter, Fionn said, “We’ll behave ourselves, won’t we?”

“Absolutely, whatever the Mystic Guardian wants,” smirked Hunter.

“Fuck you, both!” Carson snapped, throwing up his hands in disgust.

“Already looking elsewhere, Carsy?” Remy teased, walking into the living room.

Jumping up, Carson wrapped his arms around his mate, “Never, babe!” Pulling Remy close, he kissed his mate before murmuring, “My cousin was being a real prick. Is everything all right at the winery?”

“Yeah, it’s good,” Remy answered, before looking over Carson’s shoulder and smiling at Hunter and Fionn. “Ready to see how wine is made?”

“Hell, yeah!” Fionn exclaimed, jumping to his feet. “Can we try some? When Theo was checking out possible wedding venues, he found one at a winery and it included a wine tasting party.”

“What kind of wine do you prefer…white or red?” asked Remy.

“I don’t know,” Fionn said, “I’ve never had any red.”

Remy’s eyes widened at that pronouncement. “Well, then, today will be a special day, since we’ll end in the wine tasting room where you can sample a number of red wines.”

“Perfecto!” exclaimed Fionn, bouncing up and down in excitement. “How much wine do you think I should drink to get drunk? Ki told me all about how it makes you do silly things. ”

“Pet, I don’t think you can get drunk, but if you drink enough, you’ll probably get a good buzz,” Hunter said.

Chuckling, Remy twined his fingers with Carson’s. “I better have Pierre bring lots of bottles, then.”

“Eddie, please stop here,” Oracle said to her driver after they’d left the cottage, driving along the same dirt road they’d come in on.

Getting out of the car she walked over to the woman standing under a tall, leafy tree.

“Mystia,” she said, greeting her friend, “Carson and Remy are expecting you this evening.”

“I’ll help them with whatever they need,” said the witch. “They are facing a daunting task.”

“Yes,” Oracle agreed. “The Fates believe they are the ones who will rid the mystic world of the evil that has infested it and, after seeing them together, I agree. By the way, I have already suggested certain actions Remy may want to take. I have also sent official notice to the Witches’ Governing Council that the Keeper of All Magic has claimed his Fated Mate. ”

“Hmm, they should withdraw the council guards, then,” Mystia mused.

“Yes, they should,” Oracle said, dryly.

“I think I’ll stay a little longer,” said Mystia. “Just in case.”

“What about the trace of black magic you found? Did you tell Maximus?” asked Oracle.

“Yes…and that’s another reason for me to remain here,” Mystia said. “I want to ask Remy if he knows anything about it. ”

“Good idea. I am very impressed by him…and his brothers, they are adorable but also a handful. Reminds me of Steel and Slate when they were that age. Carson loves them already.”

“I met them,” chuckled Mystia. “Remy gets top marks in my book for stepping up and becoming their guardian. He was going to reject Carson because he felt it would upset his brothers so soon after their parents’ deaths.”

“Just like our Jackson,” Oracle said, with a satisfied smile.

“Yes, he’s exactly what the mystic realm needs,” agreed Mystia.

“I better go. Maximus is always anxious until I return, but do not tell him I told you that,” Oracle said. Giving her friend a hug, she walked back to the car. It was time to go home and spend some time with her husband and grandpups.
