THIRTY-EIGHT

Easton

“I love you, honey. We'll see you in the morning, okay?”

I smile at Jade as she stands outside her friend’s house on the porch. “Okay, Uncle Easton. I love you guys so much, and I'm really glad that you guys are getting married. Oh man, can I get a special dress for the—for the wedding? Oh, this is going to be so cool.”

“Jade,” I grin; she’s already moving a million miles a minute, “I'm going to need you to go inside, okay? Your friends are waiting for you. Have fun.”

“Oh, right.” Jade nods at me, giving me a crooked smile, and I give her a big hug before scooting her off inside the house.

“See you later, sweetie. Have fun.”

“Bye! Congratulations!”

My heart warms as she calls out, and I return to Hazel, who waits in the car. As I sit down behind the wheel, Hazel reaches over for me and pulls me in for another kiss.

This woman is going to be my wife, and I am so damn happy about it. “You're sure she's alright going over there for the whole night?”

Hazel's eyes are filled with concern, but I know that she's also desperately in need of some alone time with me. I need it, too.

“Yes, babe, she'll be fine. Besides, we have a lot of celebrating to do, and I don't want to have to worry about being quiet.”

I give her a crooked smile myself, laughing a little bit as I brush my thumb over the side of her face. Hazel's eyes go wide as she giggles.

“Yes, that's very true. Being quiet is difficult . It was very smart of you to think of this as part of the proposal arrangement. Or was that Olivia?”

I scoff. “No. Not everything was Olivia's doing. A fair portion of it was mine. I thought of making sure that Jade was out of the house so that I could screw you senseless , and I was the one who thought of the park. So give me some credit, thank you very much.”

Hazel laughs, leaning back in the passenger seat, and I fire up the car so I can take us home.

Home, this magical place that we created, just the three of us. After years of thinking I would never have something like this, I finally have my Hazel back, and I have Jade in my life, proving to me that the ability to be a father is something that I do have.

My own strained relationship with my parents doesn't ruin what I have with Jade.

And I’d never want to replace her mom and dad. Neither of us would. We're always going to think of my sister and my brother-in-law, and that's always going to be hard.

But both of us, Jade and I, are finding a way to have a family that we never thought we'd get.

Sure, I held on to that belief for a lot longer than she did, but we're still both able to find joy in each other's presence. And I can't help but be grateful for that.

I hope that if my sister is aware of what's going on, if any of that is real, she sees how much I love Jade, how much Hazel loves Jade, and how hard we're going to work to give her the best possible life.

It takes us less than five minutes to get each other naked when we get home, our clothes scattered down the hallway in a trail that leads to the bedroom.

Our bedroom.

I kiss Hazel with everything I’ve got, our tongues tangling as our touches roam over each other’s skin. Backing Hazel up, I don’t separate our lips as I get her onto the bed, not until I’ve got her lying down, gloriously naked.

“Easton,” she moans breathlessly.

“Yes, baby.” I drag my lips over her collarbone to her breasts, toying with each nipple in turn. “I want to hear you calling out my name for at least the next hour.”

I look up to see Hazel smile, and then I’m immediately getting back to work, warming up her body with my lips and fingers. Settling between her thighs, I devore her like a man starved, twirling and sucking and nibbling, all while using my fingers to bring her crashing over the edge in moments.

Hazel bucks up from the mattress. “Easton!”

“That’s it, baby. Again.”

I keep going, not stopping until Hazel is trembling and breathing in ragged gasps. My cock aches with the furious need to be inside her, and I sit down on the bed, pulling her on top of my lap, sheathing myself inside her.

“Ugh…fuck, precious.” I flex up into her, creating the perfect rhythm. “You feel like perfection.”

Hazel grips my neck, one arm wrapped around me while her other fingers dig into my flesh, like she’s anchoring herself, staking her claim.

And I will wear every mark she gives me proudly.

She’s so damn warm around my cock, her tight walls hugging me, and I grab her hips, helping Hazel to ride me, to bounce up and down as I thrust up.

I bottom out inside her then, holding her down on top of me as I bury myself as deep as I can go.

“Fuck!” Hazel’s eyes screw up tight, her head falling back as she clamps down around me.

A thread of worry worms through my chest. “Too much?”

“No.” Hazel grinds herself down on my cock, rubbing all her sensitive nerves against it. “It’s…so much…never stop.”

The way she takes her pleasure from me like this is too damn good. I want to give it all to her. I want Hazel to know down to her bones that whatever she needs, I’ll give it.

My cock, my heart, my protection. Everything I have is hers.

Forever.

Pulling Hazel’s hair back from her face, I grasp her neck, getting her to look at me as I slow my rhythm to a pointed, purposeful one. She locks eyes with me, and the rest of the world disappears.

“I love you, Hazel. I love you with everything I have.” I brush my lips against hers, and I let my body say what my words can’t. “You mean everything to me, and I give everything I have, everything I am, to you.”

Her eyes go glassy, and she takes my face. “I love you, Easton. I accept everything you are. Not only do you have my love, you have my undying gratitude. I owe you my life.”

“You owe me nothing.” I kiss her, rocking my hips and blissing out to the feeling of her taking me.

“I give it all freely, Easton. I know you’ll keep it safe.”

“Always, Hazel. Always and forever.”

The pleasure and emotions are so high that I can scarcely understand how we’re taking it all in. But Hazel has proven that my heart is bigger than I ever thought it was.

I let it all sweep me away. The woman I love is right where she belongs—here in my arms.

As we lie in bed together, soaking up each other’s warmth while our breathing and heart rates return to normal, I let our new reality set in. We’re engaged, and there is nothing in the world that could make me happier.

“How long have you had this ring for?” Hazel asks, admiring the shiny diamond on her ring finger.

I press a kiss to her forehead, smiling against her dewy skin.

“Since the day I left to go back to the military. I had every intention of finding my way back to you, Haze. This ring was a reminder of the future I desperately wanted with you. I was a chicken shit and got scared, but seeing it on you now…it’s the best fucking thing on the planet. ”

Hazel climbs onto me, straddling my waist as she kisses me again. I smile against her lips, sliding my hands up to her waist and squeezing lightly.

“I’m glad you found me. I know I would’ve spent the rest of my life waiting for you.”

“And I promise you,” I look her dead in the eye, sealing this promise with my very soul, “I’m going to spend the rest of mine making up for the fact that I didn’t come back to you sooner.”
