Epilogue

Ivy

One year later…

I’m right on the edge of release, and I’m not sure if I can keep being quiet at this rate.

“Fucking hell, Xaden,” I groan, grinding myself down onto his mouth as my head falls back. “Oh, shit…I’m so…fuck!”

The rough bark of a noise escapes me as the orgasm detonates, rocking me with the force of a sonic boom. I’m shaking everywhere as his tongue circles around my clit again until I’m begging for breath, his fingers so damn deep.

After a moment, he yanks me down onto his lap, and his erection drives home in one swift motion. I’m falling apart all over again as he crashes his lips to mine and silences the almost too loud sounds with his kiss.

I can taste myself on his tongue, and it’s more than enough—together with how he pummels into me—to get me coming again.

Clamping down around his shaft, I chew on his full bottom lip, desperately trying to stay quiet so we don’t wake up the kids.

“Ugh, Ivy,” he groans, my hold on his lip making the words sound even more desperate, “I’m—ugh.”

He grunts, and I feel him thicken inside me all the more, his cock pulsing wonderfully as he finds his release and fills me up.

It’s warm and perfect, and we tumble over that edge together until it finally backs off, and I fall forward onto his chest.

After a moment of just lying there and enjoying the feeling of our hearts thundering near each other and Xaden’s length still filling me, I sigh and sit up to gaze down at him.

“Well, I’ll admit that was not the way I was expecting to wake up this morning.”

He smirks, chuckling lightly. “You just looked too damn good. I couldn’t wait another moment.”

Lifting up onto his elbows, Xaden reaches for a kiss, and I’m happy to oblige. When he does, it presses him deeper again, and shit, I could go one more time.

Xaden appears to be “up” for it as well, but as he sits up and wraps his arms around me, I can hear a little coo come across the monitor.

“Damn,” he whispers, dropping his head to my chest and gently teasing me with kisses over my breasts, “looks like round two will have to wait until later.”

Laughing through a throaty moan, I swivel my hips, stealing just a few more seconds of pleasure before I have to get up and get dressed.

“Guess so.” I pull his face to mine for a kiss. “But you definitely have to do something about how worked up I am once the kids are down.”

Xaden chuckles. “You’re downright insatiable, baby. What’s gotten into you?”

I rock my hips. “Presently? You. And I love it.”

With a hiss, Xaden twitches inside me, and dammit, sometimes I really wish we just had a few more moments alone.

“Da, da, da.”

We both sigh, but it blends into little laughs and smiles. I kiss Xaden one more time and then slide myself off.

“Sounds like you’re being paged, Daddy.”

Xaden closes his eyes, probably thinking about baseball or something, and then struggles through getting up and walking to the closet.

“It’s a good thing Remus is so damn cute.”

Breakfast is warm and ready when I come down from a quick shower. Daisy is sitting at the table with her little bowl of cereal while Remus is propped up in his high chair, eating some of the eggs with his little fingers.

“He loves those things so much.” I smile, and Daisy looks over with a huge grin.

“Mama!” I walk over, hugging her over the back of her chair at the table. “Sit with me!”

I do because, of course, and in moments, there’s a fresh cup of coffee before me. I smile, taking a long sip because I know I need to walk back my caffeine consumption.

Pulling Daisy in for a quick hug, I kiss the top of her head. “How’d you sleep, muffin?”

She looks up with a cereal-laden smile, dripping milk down her chin. “Good!”

Giggling, I use the sleeve of my robe to wipe her mouth. “Oh, good. And hey, it’s the weekend. No school this morning, so we can hang out as a family.”

“Oh, can we go to Discovery again!?”

Enjoying a sip of the steaming drink, I nod gently. “Sure. I know Remmy likes playing in the toddler section. Sound like a plan, Papa?”

Xaden plates us some fresh piles of breakfast, nodding along as he finishes up. “Yeah, sure. We can hit the Children’s Museum. I do have a little something planned for dinner, but that’s not till later.”

“Dinner?” I furrow my brows at him.

“You’ll see.” It’s all I’m given, and if I didn’t enjoy Xaden’s surprises so much, I’d be annoyed.

As it is, the man is fantastic at perfectly marrying preparation and spontaneity, so I don’t let it phase me.

Eggs and toast come quickly after the coffee, sliding gently into place in front of me. Xaden sits down on my other side, helping to feed Remus, who’s bringing up the end of our little family breakfast line.

“Good morning.” I kiss Xaden on the cheek with a smile I haven’t seemed to take off since we finally settled into our life. “A very, very good morning.”

Xaden smiles back at me. “Can I make it better?”

I cock a brow. “Oh? How?”

He’s all grins, turning toward me and taking my hand to deposit something into my palm. When I look at it, my jaw drops to the damned floor.

“Xaden, are you…”

“Marry me?” He asks, simple and perfect, and right here during my favorite moments of the day.

“Yes.” I kiss him again before sitting back with my own toothy grin. “Well, now’s as good a time as any.”

It’s Xaden’s turn to cock his head. “Go on.”

“I’m pregnant.” I chuckle as my eyes sting slightly with happy tears. “So, you know, big morning for us.”

He looks shocked but then laughs as he shakes his head. “Really?”

I nod. “Yup.”

Wrapping his arm around me, Xaden looks over at Daisy, who’s watching us like we’re nuts.

“Well, kiddo. Looks like you're going to be a big sister again.”

She gasps, the pieces falling into place, and Remus bangs happily on his tray. It’s just tears and grins after that, and I shove my coffee at Xaden after a moment.

“We’ll need to buy decaf.”
