30. Lia
Chapter thirty
Lia
Valen slides his fingers down my sternum and pushes until I walk backwards down the hall.
The look in his eyes is pure sin. My breath is frozen in my lungs as I slowly back down the hallway.
“Poor little omega,” Valen purrs and leans in closer.
I gasp, my eyes fluttering closed as his hot breath wafts over my face. I was on my way downstairs for breakfast, but then Valen, who had just exited Zaden’s office, turned and inhaled.
And turned into this mind melting hunk of man flesh who is hunting me down the hallway.
I should scream.
I bite my bottom lip, and his eyes drop to it and linger there until I let go.
The fingers spread out and flatten before he scoops my top into his fingers, yanks me up onto my tiptoes, and draws me towards him. A tiny sound escapes me, and I swear, his eyes burn brighter.
“Omega,” he sings and buries his face in the crook of my neck and shoulder.
I tingle all over and spear my fingers through his hair, holding him to me.
“Valen,” I moan piteously.
He moves so suddenly; I don’t even make a sound until I’m over his shoulder, frantically trying to stop from face planting on his ass .
Valen strides down the hall towards Zaden’s room, except turning left instead of right. This room has always been locked in the past, but lately, it’s been open. This is the secret nest room, the place where I lost my damn mind.
The knob turns under his hand, and we’re inside. I’m barely able to look around before he throws me down on the biggest bed I’ve ever seen.
They bought a new bed? I marvel as I scramble up.
I sit up but freeze, my eyes getting wide. Black tulle covers all the walls, hanging in thick drapes of material. The floor is covered in thick, plush black carpet. The bed is white and black with a huge iron-worked headboard with handcuffs and silk ties hanging off them. All the pillows and blankets I put in the other room have been moved in here.
I slide to the edge of the bed, looking at all the details. The cupboard that when I open it reveals a fridge on one side and storage on the other. It has towels, first aid kits, lube, toys. The desk with what looks like a paddle on it.
My cheeks burn as I close the cupboard and move to the only other door in the room. It opens into an enormous bathroom with a recessed bath and a multi-person shower.
I stand there, lost in all the feelings.
“This is my nest,” I say, trying out the words. “You moved everything from my room, my panic room, and the bedroom down the hall to here?” All the frustration and anger over their actions drains away from me. If they’ve done this, they must really care, right?
“We tried to reproduce it as best we could,” Valen rumbles.
I close my eyes as Valen presses into me from behind. He’s so hard and strong, so safe. His hands slide up over my chest to cross over my shoulders and hold me tight.
I swallow and repeat the motion. “Valen,” I whimper.
“I know it’s scary, Lia. I know you think you’re all alone, but we’re not going to let you go through this without us.”
I turn my head and raise my arms to hold his.
“Whatever you want, Lia, we’ll get it for you.”
I close my eyes. “I just don’t want to be alone anymore. It’s silly, but I just don’t want you to leave me.”
“You’ll never have to be alone again,” Valen vows. His arms tighten even more, holding me so close I feel like we’ve become one person.
“How did you meet Mills?” I rasp out, needing a distraction from the sentimental feelings that are going to have me lying face down on the bed, sobbing.
Valen picks me up and walks back to the bed. He lays down and lets me go. I roll off him but turn so we’re facing each other. He tangles our legs together. It’s so intimate. I don’t think I’ve ever done this with anyone.
“Mills came to the club when he was about twenty. He was wicked smart and was to do some odd jobs for Zion. He pledged in and fell in with us. I can’t even remember how it happened. We just met, and he was one of us.”
“Sounds like a fairy tale.”
Valen leans in, pressing his lips to mine. “Does that mean you’re our happy ending?”
I stare at him, arrested, confused, and melting into pieces. I’m his happy ending?
“No, you’re mine,” I whisper honestly.
Valen stills and sits up, peering at me. “Lia!” He’s so full of wonder.
I take a breath and make a decision.
