Chapter 42

Idid as I was told and got in the shower. The intensity in Jay’s eyes when he told me he’d wanted to control my orgasms was making me shiver despite the hot spray of water currently soaking my flushed skin.

It took a while for my erection to go down, and I forced myself to ignore it. He’d brought me right to the brink before stopping, and my body was thrumming with the need to finish myself off, but I resisted the urge.

Something about playing along with this game Jay wanted to play was so hot, and it was tickling this deep-seated part of myself I hadn’t known existed.

I wanted to listen to him.

I wanted to let him be in control. Something about that was so liberating. I knew I was smarter than the average person, but somehow, no matter how high my IQ scores were, I’d been bumbling around my entire life, struggling to make decisions that didn’t wind up turning into a total disaster.

Letting someone like Jay, who always seemed to know what the right thing to do was, take the decision-making away from me felt so good and safe.

It was like a weight had been lifted off my shoulders, and I didn’t know how heavy it had been until it was gone.

I got another taste of that delicious freedom when I came out of the bathroom to find he’d picked out my outfit for the day and made my bed for me.

I paused, staring at the crisp shirt and relaxed slacks he’d chosen for me, and my mouth parted slightly in surprise.

Oh my gosh.

He hadn’t been kidding.

‘I’ve always wanted someone to let me… take care of them.’

I suppose that extended beyond just the bedroom.

My cheeks flushed as I hurried forward to get dressed, feeling strange that this made me so happy.

I’d always hated picking out what to wear. When I was younger, my clothing decisions sometimes resulted in me being relentlessly bullied at school, so it made me always worry and stress—even as an adult—that I was making the wrong choice whenever I decided what outfit to choose for any given event.

Was I too dressed up? Not dressed up enough? Did this shirt make me look stupid?

I didn’t have to worry about any of that because Jay had made the decision for me, and it felt freaking good.

Freshly showered and dressed, I made my way into the living room to find Jay on my couch with a couple of massive, freshly baked muffins and two lattes in to-go cups waiting for us on the coffee table.

He glanced over at me, his copper eyes taking me in, and I flushed as he let out a soft ‘fuck.’

Giving me a bright smile, he rubbed the back of his neck and bit his lip.

“I wasn’t sure if you would go for that,” he admitted, tilting his head toward my outfit. “I hope you don’t mind that I went through your closet.”

I shook my head, fiddling with the hem of my test tube shirt nervously, wondering if there was ever going to be a time when he could look at me, and my face wouldn’t feel like it was going to melt right off.

“No I don’t mind… I uh—I liked it. I liked that you did that.” My voice came out in an embarrassed whisper, but the look on Jay’s face made being brave worth it.

He beamed at me, and I stared at him, marvelling at how beautiful he looked when he smiled.

“Good. I’ll pick out your clothes for you from now on, then,” he said. His tone was easy and calm, like it was the most normal thing in the world. It didn’t leave any room for me to question it, and frankly, I didn’t care to.

I nodded, giving him a shy smile.

“‘Kay.”

Still grinning, he patted the couch next to him, indicating that he wanted me to join him.

“Come here, eat. Then we can decide what we’re going to do with our day off.”

Scurrying over to the couch, I sat down and helped myself to one of the massive blueberry muffins, letting out a little happy moan as the bright flavors exploded on my tongue.

Jay watched me, his expression darkening slightly as I enjoyed my breakfast, and I tried not to focus too much on the way he bit his lip every time I unintentionally made a sound.

“You’re so fucking sexy, Milo,” he hummed when I was finished, and I laughed nervously.

“No one is sexy while eating a muffin.” I laughed, and his lips quirked.

“You are.” He reached over and cupped my face, pressing his thumb down on my lower lip slightly. “The sounds that come out of this mouth should be illegal.”

I blushed furiously, and he grinned, flicking me gently on the nose before turning to sit cross-legged on the couch to face me.

“So, I was thinking we could go to the shopping district. I don’t know if you’ve been yet, but it could be something fun to do. We can either grab lunch out or come back here to play Stardew or whatever you want.”

“Okay, that sounds fun,” I said, smiling at him. He grinned back and leaned forward, kissing me softly on the cheek.

“Great. Finish your coffee, and we can get going. You’re going to love the shopping district. We can swing by the game shop and see if there’s anything new, since I’m sure we’ll be done with Shane’s arc by the end of the weekend.”

Relief flooded through me at his words. A small part of me had been worried about whether or not our game nights would come to an end once we finished with Shane.

There were other characters and things to do, obviously, but we’d both grown attached to Shane, and it didn’t feel the same developing relationship arcs with the other characters.

“Can we get Animal Crossing?” I asked excitedly. “I’ve always wanted to play that.”

Jay chuckled, his eyes glinting with amusement.

“We can get anything you want, Milo,” he promised, and my chest flooded with a warmth that I was starting to realize I would only ever get from Jay.
