Chapter 27
Chapter
Twenty-Seven
Chase watched as his brother sat with his back against the headboard, Cora’s head in his lap, her smile soft and sexy, and her eyes hard on Chase.
Apparently, she was fine with the whole situation. Adric, too, because even though he was very obviously still rock hard, he was casually stroking Cora’s hair with the expression of a well-contented man.
More than that, he was watching Chase in a manner that clearly said, Your turn, brother.
That was the part Chase hadn’t braced for—the ease of it.
And that’s when he realized he should have seen this coming. He’d been feeling his brother regularly ever since that first time when he’d confronted them in her dorm room. The soft, intimate moments. The hard, wild ones, too.
The way his brother’s pleasure had rolled through him.
And, yes, he knew what the bond did.
And, yes, he’d had time to get used to the idea.
And yet he still wasn’t used to the idea, even though some buried part of him wanted to be.
It was the immediacy of it that he grappled with.
The mirror effect. Because the second he moved between her thighs, Adric would feel what Chase felt, and turn it around into his own pleasure.
His own need. A coupling that felt incredible but came with the hard memories, too.
Memories of when they truly had been one.
When the sharing hadn’t been a bond at all. When it had just been them.
He missed it, dammit, but there was no going back. And the brutal truth was that this strange and wonderful thing between the three of them filled the ache. Unexpected, yes. Even unwanted at first. But damned if he didn’t want it now.
“Chase?”
He realized he was looking past her, and he dipped his head to see her worried eyes. “Do you want to stop?”
He shook his head, then smiled, slow and easy. “Hell, no.”
She glanced up as Adric bent to brush a kiss over her hair. “Do you want me to move?”
He almost said yes, then realized it wasn’t that he wanted her away from Adric. It was the opposite—he wanted his brother right there, watching, close enough to feel everything and not allowed to touch, feeling only the bond.
“Don’t move,” he said, and reached down to draw her up out of his brother’s lap and into his own arms. She came easily, laughing low, and he laid her back where he wanted her, teasing her core with his fingers, loving the slickness of her. How wet she was for him. For them.
And, strangely, he found the plural didn’t bother him.
“Chase,” she said, her voice making his name a plea, and he thrust his fingers in hard, pushing deep as her back arched and she begged him for harder, for faster, for everything.
He gave it to her, teasing her clit, her pussy, all of her until she exploded around him with a cry that made him that much harder.
And then—when her body went soft again, and she smiled up at him with a low, contented sigh—he lowered his head and let his lips graze her ear.
“Let’s give him something to really feel,” he murmured, delighted when she laughed and answered, “Oh, hell, yes.”
And then, as her arms tightened around him—as he thrust deep inside her—he knew she was still his. Would always be his. Even as she would always be Adric’s. And that was okay. More than okay.
Hell, it was right.
He felt his release moving closer, his body tightening, and he looked past Cora to his brother, only to find his own passion etched on Adric’s face.
The intensity of what they were sharing—he and Adric, yes, but also all three of them—hit him like a wave, and he saw the wave pass through Adric, too, felt his brother’s need, his craving for Cora, the building pleasure that was both phantom and real, and for one wonderful, horrible moment he had no idea who he was. Chase or Adric?
He didn’t know. It didn’t matter.
All that mattered was Cora, and that she was theirs. He thrust hard into her, his pleasured cry echoing through the small room. She was so tight. So wet, and he groaned with need when she locked her ankles around his ass as if desperate to take not just his cock, but all of him.
All of them.
And in the next beat, she shuddered, the orgasm coming over her hard and fast until she was trembling in his arms, her head still resting in his brother’s lap as the last waves of the release rolled over her with Adric stroking her hair and looking both amused and a little smug.
And damned if Chase wasn’t okay with that.
She reached for his hand and smiled, slow and wrecked and a little amused. “Well,” she said, “that was fun.”
“Yeah,” he said with glance at his brother. “It was.”
They shifted, and soon Chase was on his back, his brother on the other side of the bed, and Cora between them.
She rolled over and curled up next to him, and though his eyes were closed as sleep tugged at him, he knew that Adric’s body was pressed against Cora’s.
And, strangely, that felt right. He drew in a breath, letting this new reality wash over him.
He’d shared her, and with his brother, no less. More, he’d survived it. He’d even—God help him—liked it. And the part that scared him wasn’t the wanting. It was how much it had felt like coming home.
He let that sit a moment, then pushed it down where he could look at it later. Whistler was still at Griff’s, and Griff had been sitting with him for hours. Time to relieve one friend and to sit with another as he healed.
He sat up.
“Griff,” he said. “I should relieve him for an hour.”
Adric said nothing, just gave a quick nod.
Cora opened her eyes and blinked sleepily up at him. “Come back soon,” she said, extending her hand to him. “And give Whistler my love.”
He bent and kissed her temple. “I will,” he promised. Then, he looked across her at his brother. “Adric.”
Adric gave a quick nod, underscored by a tiny smile. “Brother.”
The word passed between them with nothing sharp underneath, and that might be the strangest thing that had happened this night.
