Chapter 46 Ivy

Ivy

“Hello, my love,” came Leseldh’s dulcet voice.

“Don’t call me that.”

Leseldh stalked towards Ivy, and her body was alive with chills. “I am glad you finally came. I have missed you.”

“Strange. I haven’t thought about you at all.”

Leseldh merely smiled in response.

“Where is your Resonant?” Leseldh’s mocking tone made Ivy’s blood heat, but she resisted the urge to unleash Killian’s Gift. She needed to wait for the perfect moment.

“He’s kicking the shit out of your First Creation right now.”

“I have no doubt there’s a battle taking place.

But I also know that Voresta has been planning his revenge for a long time.

If Killian is dominating the fight, it is only because Voresta wishes to let him think he is doing so.

” Leseldh’s words were delivered coolly, making the hairs on her arms stand up.

Without breaking Leseldh’s gaze, Ivy reached out to Ozias. Help Killian. The Erath took flight and Leseldh’s eyes shifted to track him. It didn’t seem to bother him, though. His eyes lazily drifted back to hers.

Ivy felt a prickling sensation in her stomach, and she wasn’t sure whether it was her concern for Killian that was growing legs or if something more sinister was happening. She began to tremble, her bravado and clever retorts shrivelling in her mind.

“When your Resonant meets his Ending tonight, you will feel an all-consuming sorrow. You will be torn apart by it. But don’t worry, my beloved.

I will be right there in the wreckage with you, helping you rebuild.

” Leseldh spoke with that same conviction Ivy heard when he used to speak of her connection to Malia.

The threat of Killian’s Ending obliterated Ivy’s attempts to leash her temper, and she roared as she charged towards Leseldh. Leseldh moved with frightening speed and gripped her throat as she got within his range. He squeezed hard, and she spluttered as the force he used felt all too familiar.

“When will you realise that you belong to me, Malia? I Created you, and no Maurell Vampire is worthy of claiming you as their Resonant,” Leseldh seethed. His eyes glowed so bright they were almost neon in the darkness.

“My Resonant was decided by the blood, not by what you want, Leseldh,” Ivy rasped, struggling in Leseldh’s grip.

“When he has Ended, it will not matter what was decided. I will simply take back what is mine.” Leseldh’s words made a wave of revulsion surge through Ivy’s body, and she thrashed against her Sire.
