64. Violet

VIOLET

I’m so overcome with emotion, I can’t speak.

I can’t even tell him I’m not going anywhere.

Imagine that?

The woman who’s always composed... has completely unraveled.

“I’m not giving you a choice,” he says, determination in his brown eyes.

I’ve never seen him this intense.

And I really like it.

“Just try to get rid of me,” I manage to squeak out.

The sound of clapping makes me jump, intruding on our moment.

Drew and I turn our heads, watching as Callie pushes off the porch and heads toward us.

Oh shit. She witnessed the whole show.

Callie’s eyes dance with pleasure as she stops beside me. “You got your man.”

I nod, snuggling closer to Drew.

“And we didn’t even have to kidnap him.”

The smile fades from Drew’s face.

“Kidnap?” he says, alarmed.

Callie waves her hand. “As happy as I am that the two of you are back together, I can’t lie. I’m bummed we didn’t get to pull off my kidnapping scheme. It was foolproof.”

“Stop it. You’re going to scare him away.”

His arm tightens around my waist. “Not this time.”

I turn to him, surprised.

“There’s nothing that can scare me away from you.” He looks over my shoulder. “Even your crazy sister.”

Callie curtsies. “Now that’s true love. Most men are scared as hell of me.”

I swat her. “Stop it.”

“What?” She shrugs. “It’s true.”

Drew chuckles. “I don’t doubt it.”

Callie steps closer to him. “Good. You should be. Because if you ever hurt my sister again—”

“I won’t. Scout’s honor.” He salutes her.

“Saluting won’t help. I’m not military,” she glowers at him.

“I was going to attempt the Boy Scout salute. But I don’t remember it.”

I pull back slightly. “You were a Boy Scout?”

“For a short time. A terrible one.” He shudders. “I got lost in the woods, panicked, dropped my flashlight, and somehow ended up falling pants-down into poison ivy.”

Callie blinks.

“Pants-down?”

“Unfortunately.”

Her eyes widen. “Drew.”

“Yes.”

“Please tell me—”

“Yes, Callie. Everywhere.”

Even though Violet tries to hold in her laughter, when Callie begins laughing, she loses the battle.

I join in.

And damn, it feels good.

Callie finally regains enough composure to speak. “If the two of you ever have a son, please don’t let him join the Boy Scouts.”

I glance up at Drew. He’s smiling down at me with a warm look that melts my insides.

“Hopefully, our kids will take after their mother.” His eyes never leave mine. “When we have them. Someday.”

I blink at him, overwrought.

He means it.

He does want me.

He wants a family. With me.

Callie’s hand squeezes my shoulder. “That’s your person, Violet.”

She’s right.

I’ve always wanted to be loved instead of used. To give what I never received.

Drew’s fingers dig into my hip.

“I’ll give you all the love I have.” He grabs my hand, pressing it to his lips. “I’ll give you everything I can.”

I smile, aching at the look in his eyes.

“Right now,” I say. “I just want you.”

And I mean that with every fiber of my being.

I barely remember the drive to his house.

But when he squeezes my hand and opens the front door, I’m an emotional wreck all over again.

“No one sees me like this,” I say as I step inside. “I don’t lose control.”

He shuts the door and locks it, dropping my suitcase and duffle he helped me pack before pulling me into his arms. “I’m glad I’m seeing you like this.”

I look up at him, surprised.

He gives me a lopsided smile. “It means you trust me enough to show me who you really are.”

I melt against him.

He's already keeping his promise.

I should be terrified after letting someone see this much of me.

Instead... I've never felt safer.

The look on his face tells me he’ll spend the rest of his life trying to make up for the hurt he caused.

Claws scamper across the floor, and I don’t even get a chance to move before Luna leaps, claws digging into my pants leg.

“Ow. Luna,” I say with a laugh.

Before I can grab her, Drew pulls her from my pants and hands her to me.

She practically leaps into my arms, purring like she hasn’t seen me in days.

“I missed you, too,” I murmur, rubbing her ears.

She stares up at me. Like she’s afraid if she looks away, I’ll leave again.

“She missed you almost as much as I did,” Drew says, his voice raspy.

My eyes meet his.

“You have no idea how much I missed you.” I smile at him. “But I wasn’t letting you go that easily.”

He glances over at the suitcase, a smirk on his lips. “I expect nothing less. Stalker.”

I laugh, feeling lighter than I have all day. “So you’ve made peace with it?”

He takes Luna from me and sets her on the couch. Then he pulls me into his arms.

“I’ve fully accepted it.”

“Even the stalking?”

He smiles. “Especially the part where you care about me so much you’re terrible at hiding it.”

I laugh, my hands curling in the back of his hair.

Then his lips are on mine, sealing his words with a promise.

I moan against his mouth, my hips grinding against his hardness. His moan is the sexiest thing I’ve ever heard.

He pulls away and looks deep in my eyes. “I love you, Violet.”

My breath catches. “I love you, Drew.”

And then he kisses me like he’ll die if he doesn’t taste me right now.

I cling to him, never wanting to let him go again.

He breaks the kiss, desire burning in his eyes. “I need you, Violet. All of you.”

I whimper. “Yes. I need you, too.”

He hoists me into his arms, and a surprised squeal escapes me. He starts toward the bedroom, but I stop him.

“Wait. Grab my suitcase.”

He looks at me, confused. “Why?”

“I have a surprise.”

He doesn’t question me further. Just grabs it, carrying us both toward his bedroom.

The second he lowers me to my feet, I push him onto the bed, kicking the door shut with my foot.

“Close your eyes.”

“Violet.” His tone is edged with worry. “You better not think of leaving.”

I giggle, stripping quickly. “I’m not going anywhere. Ever.” I fumble with his tie. I manage to slip it into the suitcase without him seeing. “I’m your stalker. Remember?”

He grunts. “I wish my stalker would get her ass over here.”

I step back, checking myself in the mirror. I’m wearing the jacket and tie he left at my house... and nothing else.

His smell is fading from the jacket. Probably because I wore it while working.

What can I say?

I’m obsessed with him.

“Okay. You can look now.”

His eyes darken with desire as he takes me in. I stop, striking a pose, fingering his silky tie.

“What do you think?”

“I think you better get your ass over and let me take those off you.” His gaze drops to the tie. “And let me tie you up with that.”

I make a tsking noise, stepping closer. “Impatient.” I lean over him. “Don’t you know good things come to those who wait.”

“I’ve been waiting too damn long.”

My fingers run through his hair. “It didn’t take me that long to change.”

“Two minutes is too long,” he snaps.

I smile, my gaze raking over his body. Despite being an accountant, he’s lean and muscular in all the right places. Because I stalked him, I know why. He takes regular exercise breaks, doing push-ups, squats, calf raises, and planks.

“Poor baby,” I say, my lips close to his. “I’ve frustrated you.”

He reaches out, grabs the jacket, and pulls me against him.

I laugh, pushing away slightly. “I have plans for you.”

He releases a frustrated groan. “What kind of plans?”

Instead of answering, I crawl between his legs. His breath hitches when I wrap a hand around his hard length, stroking him through his pants.

“Shhh. No more talking. Just relax.”

His head falls back on the pillow. “Your hand is on my dick. There’s no way I’m going to—”

I unbutton his pants, then undo his zipper. Within seconds, I have his cock free.

My tongue darts out, licking his tip.

He gasps, his head lifting to look at me.

“Violet,” he whispers.

“Shh.” I glide my tongue down his length. “I’ve been dying to do this.”

He watches me as I slowly move to his head, then sink my mouth over his hardness.

“Shit,” he murmurs, fingers tugging on my hair. “Feels so good.”

I lock my eyes with his as I move to the tip, teasing him with my tongue, before taking him deeper.

“Holy fuck.” His chest heaves from excitement. “I’ve never seen a better sight in my life.”

I go down on him again, his tip hitting the back of my throat. He moans, closing his eyes.

While I pull back and take a breath, I smile. I love pleasing him. Watching him lose control.

I stroke his length and whisper, “Open your eyes, Drew.”

He does.

“It’s really damn hard,” he says. “Watching you suck me like this... I’m trying not to blow my load.”

I begin kissing every inch of his dick before taking him in my mouth again.

Mine.

Mine. Mine. Mine.

“Violet, please.”

I release him from my mouth and grin up at him. “Let’s get you naked.”

Within seconds, he’s naked and has me under him on the bed.

He stares into my eyes, stroking my cheek. “I’ll never hurt you again.”

I cup his face. “I know, Drew. I trust you.”

His hands move, undoing the tie. Then he tugs off the jacket and tosses both aside. His body covers mine. “I need you. Right now. Nothing between us. Just raw need.”

I blink back tears, losing control.

His lips cover mine in the sweetest kiss he’s ever given me.

When he pulls back, he brushes the tears from my cheek. “I love and hate to see you cry.”

“I’m still trying to adjust,” I confess, feeling raw. Vulnerable. “I’m not used to this.”

“Get used to it. Because you’re not hiding from me anymore.” He rubs himself against me, feeling my wetness coating him. “I want to know all of you, Violet.”

“Dammit,” I murmur, rubbing against him. “You’re doing it again.”

He smiles at me. “I love seeing you like this.”

“What? Weak.”

He shakes his head, lips lightly grazing mine. “No. Yourself.”

My breath catches. “Drew,” I whisper.

“I know, baby.” He rubs against me, his head slipping inside. “Don’t fight it. It’s uncomfortable, but you can show me who you are.”

My legs wrap around his waist. “I-I’m scared.”

He kisses me again. “Don’t be, baby. I won’t judge you.”

I stare at the earnest expression on his face.

He means it.

“You never have to be scared of me.” He moves slightly, keeping just the tip inside me. I arch, wanting more, but he doesn’t give it to me.

“I’ll protect you, Violet. Like you have me.” He grabs my hand, placing it over his heart. “I love you.”

Tears slip down my face.

“I love you.”

Then he slides deeper, moving so slowly that I feel every inch. He continues until he can’t go any further.

I exhale, my eyes locked with his.

He shakes his head. “Don’t say it. I already know.”

Then he begins moving, slow and steady, driving me insane.

I cling to him, moaning from how good he feels. How right.

“You’re perfect,” he whispers. “For me.”

More tears spill. “Dammit, Drew.”

He grins, still maintaining the slow, sweet pace that’s unraveling more than just my body.

“It’s only fair I see this side of you,” he says, grinning as he kisses my forehead. “You know I had Poison Ivy on my ass, balls, and dick.”

I bark out a surprised laugh.

And then I grow serious, realizing what he just did.

He knew I was reaching the point of overload.

That I’d start resisting.

So he made me laugh, relaxing me.

I wind my arms tighter around his neck, moving my hips with his. “You’re incredible.”

He rains kisses over my face, ending with my lips. “So are you.”

He’s so deep inside me that I don’t know where he ends and I begin.

His jaw clenches. “I’m seconds from losing it. But I refuse...” he pulls out to the tip, then shoves himself deep. “Until you come first.”

My hands slide over his back, nails digging into his skin.

And then, he flips me, his arm banded around my waist.

“Ride me, Violet. Show me what you need.”

I gasp, already beginning to move.

He’s letting me take control.

Knowing I need it.

Only this time, I let myself go, rolling my hips in ways I never have before.

“That’s my girl,” he rasps. “Take every bit of me.”

I stare into his eyes, understanding exactly what he means.

And that causes me to tighten, the orgasm slamming over me like a powerful wave. My legs quiver. Stars explode behind my eyes as it rolls over me.

And then I collapse against him, knowing he has me.

He holds onto me, hips bucking up from below me as he murmurs, “I’ve got you, baby.”

My heart beats in time with his as I cling to him.

When I lift my head, locking my eyes with his, he holds me there, thrusting until I tighten and come again.

Only this time, he breaks apart with me.

I lie there, snuggled in his warm embrace, my fingers lightly drawing a heart over and over on his skin.

“You marking me like the window?” he asks, a smile in his voice.

I lift my head. “You figured it out.”

“Of course. I know you, Violet.” He cups my face. “You can draw hearts all over my windows.”

I laugh and shake my head. “I much prefer drawing hearts on you.”

Before he can react, I’m off the bed, grabbing my bag.

When I return, I have my lipstick in hand.

I straddle him, drawing a huge red heart on his chest. Then I put our initials in the middle of it.

“You’re only going to be Violet Quinn for a short time.” He grabs me, pulling me down until my breasts are on his chest, my lips near his. “One day, I intend to change it to Violet Locke.”

My heart swells.

“I love you,” I whisper.

“And I love you.”
