Epilogue

I open the front door of the house that somehow went from quiet and predictable to absolute chaos in a matter of months.

Callie stands outside, grinning at me.

“Hey, Poison Ivy.” She steps inside.

“Stop calling me that.” I shut the door.

Callie ignores me and immediately hurries over to a very pregnant Luna. Violet strokes her fur as she sits on the couch beside her.

Callie sits on the other side of Luna, her long nails scratching her ears. “I can’t wait until she has these babies.”

I drag a hand down my face. “You’re way too excited about this.”

“I get first pick,” she says immediately.

“That’s already been established.”

She beams at me.

Wow.

Somehow, the psycho is happy. And I don’t know how I feel about this.

Then Violet’s eyes meet mine, and she smiles at me.

My unease disappears.

Anything to make her happy.

Sebastian and Ivy arrive moments later. Mr. Pickles strolls inside, his tail twitching like a warning siren as he watches Callie petting Luna. Always guarding his obsession.

He walks over and curls up on the couch beside her, giving everyone except Luna a warning look. Because she's perfect, and the rest of us are all suspects.

“I still can’t believe they’re having kittens.”

Mr. Pickles glares at me with contempt, as if I said something horrible.

“What?” I raise my hands. “I didn’t say anything bad.”

He lays his head back down, one eye still on me like he’s her security detail.

Violet comes up beside me, her shoulder brushing mine. “Callie is already planning names,” she says.

I glance over. “Of course she is.”

“I’ve narrowed it down to a theme,” Callie calls out.

“That sounds dangerous,” I mutter.

“It’s cohesive.”

“That’s worse.”

I shake my head and sit, pulling Violet onto my lap.

“I can’t wait to marry you,” I whisper.

She hugs me closer. “Me, too. Although there’s still so much to do. Invitations. Cake. Rings—”

I grab her hand. “Stop stressing.”

She raises her brows. “Since when are you Mr. Calm and Collected?”

I grin. “Since you started acting like me.”

I pull her in for a kiss.

When I release her, I say, “Besides. You have a binder full of wedding details.”

She lets out a laugh that has me smiling from ear to ear.

“Oh, great. Here we go with the sappy Hallmark lovey-dovey shit,” Callie grumbles.

“Don’t hate on love just because you date losers,” I retort.

“I don’t date losers,” she says defensively.

“Could’ve fooled me.”

Ivy asks Callie about names for her future kitten, which effectively ends our arguing.

Violet takes it all in, amused. “This is home.”

I look around the room.

She’s right.

It is.

Which is funny because it never truly did before.

Not until her.

“Absolutely.” I kiss her, then shoot her a teasing smile. “A normal All-American family.”

Sebastian snorts, handing me a drink. “The kind you see in Lifetime movies.”

I bump my cup against his, laughing.

We may be abnormal, but somehow, this fits.

Violet grabs my drink and takes a long sip.

Sebastian leans over to me and murmurs, “I remember all the shit you gave me about marrying my stalker.”

I groan. “Don’t start.”

He straightens, an evil smile on his face. “Oh, it’s on, brother.”

I huff out a breath.

Violet hands me the cup, then leans over to grab some chips from the coffee table.

“You aren’t ever living this down,” Sebastian says.

I stare at him defiantly. “Bring it. Nothing makes me happier than her.”

He nods once. The teasing disappears. "That's all that matters, Drew."

He’s right.

I spent so long worrying about the wrong things.

What made sense.

What looked normal.

What was safe.

When all along, the only thing that ever mattered was her.

I look at Violet. She winks at me.

She was right all along.

There was never any need for me to run.

Besides...

She'd just find me anyway.
