Chapter Five. #2
Torture wasn’t just for revenge when it came to Crown Knight.
He treated it as a strategy, too. He got information out of niggas, information that kept him one step ahead of his enemies.
Benjamin’s time at the Knights’ clubhouse hadn’t been any different.
Between the gunshot wounds and the torture, he’d given up more than the Ravens working with the Dessalinés Mob.
He’d also given up the location of a new major stash house Preach had just opened.
With the FEDS watching him, Preach was constantly moving his product around.
But little did he know, they weren’t the only muthafuckas he had to worry about. Crown was on it.
The black van followed by multiple Harleys rolled through the city, eventually pulling into an abandoned lot nearly two blocks from the stash house. The engines shut off, and several Knights climbed off, ready.
Crown’s plan was simple. Run these muthafuckas down and take control.
Empty every safe and grab every dollar they could find, load whatever valuables they could carry into the van, then burn the product and whatever else they wanted destroyed.
Preach wouldn’t just lose men. He would lose money, product, and every bit of sanity he thought he still had.
Niggas wanted to fuck with his peace; Crown would cause a tsunami.
Sav opened the back of the van for the Knights who would be going in on foot, handing out rifles. While they prepared, Crown looked over at Danger, who remained seated on his Harley with ten other Knights behind him. Their weapons were already positioned in their saddlebags.
“You wait on the shot.” He reminded him, even though they’d gone over the plan more times than anybody could count. That was just how Crown was, especially with Danger still recovering from the gunshot wound to his leg.
Used to his brother’s ways, Danger nodded. “I got ya, bro.”
Crown stared at him for a moment before turning and leading the way with Smoky at his side. Whatever bullshit they were going through got pushed aside. It was family first…it was Knights over everything. The rest of the members followed, cutting through the trees behind the warehouse.
The woods gave them enough cover to stay out of sight as they worked their way toward the rear of the property.
Before long, the warehouse came into view, and each Knight quietly settled into position.
Dressed in all black with a gold Jesus piece hanging from his neck, Crown stopped behind a thick oak tree.
His waves and beard glistened in the sunlight as he watched the rear loading dock.
Smoky crouched a few feet to his right, rifle ready.
Benjamin hadn’t lied about the setup. Floodlights covered the loading dock, illuminating two tractor-trailers backed into the bays while shrink-wrapped pallets waited nearby to be unloaded.
Cameras overlooked the property, and three-armed guards kept watch in the back.
One slowly walked the fence line. Another leaned against the loading dock with his weapon resting against his chest. The third stood on the roof, partially shielded by the building’s equipment, just like Benjamin had explained, a cigarette hanging from his lips.
From his position, the wooded area behind the warehouse was mostly blocked from view.
Crown kept his eyes on the rooftop guard.
Hitting him first would give them the opening they needed.
The man took another drag from his cigarette before briefly checking the activity around the dock.
Crown waited until his attention shifted towards the side of the building, then raised the rifle resting against his shoulder and fired.
This was light work; a nigga like him never missed.
“Bitch ass nigga.”
The rooftop guard went down, his body falling from the edge of the building before hitting the pavement below.
The other two guards immediately lifted their guns and fired toward the sound of the gunshot.
Their bullets tore through branches and slammed into tree trunks as the Knights fired back.
Smoky hit the guard closest to the fence, dropping him onto the concrete.
Suddenly outnumbered, the other guard ducked behind a stack of pallets as the Knights advanced.
Their bullets ripped, eventually filling him, shattering windows, and tearing into the metal of the building.
More of Preach’s men came pouring out from inside, some diving for cover while others stood their ground, busting back out in the open.
Right on time, Danger and the other Knights came flying down the street.
Like Crown knew they would, the front guards had already abandoned their posts when they heard the gunfire from the back, rushing around the building to help.
That left the front entrance wide open. Harleys tore across the pavement before the Knights slammed on their brakes.
They jumped off, opened their saddlebags, and pulled out their guns.
Danger led the way, dropping any nigga who wasn’t on their side in sight.
Now Preach's men were trapped between the Knights coming from the woods and the ones attacking from the front.
Some tried making their way toward the side exit, only to find more Knights closing in from that direction.
Crown had warned Preach that war would come if he played with him, and now he was making good on his word.
A couple of phone calls had brought two charters into the city. And others were on the way.
Crown kept moving and shooting. Once inside, he ducked for cover as rounds cracked over his head before leaning out and firing. He dropped two guards effortlessly. Smoky stayed near, covering his left, popping two more.
The shootout continued for another few moments before slowly dying down. When it was over, Dessalinés Mob members and empty shell casings littered the pavement. In less than a minute, the stash house that held Preach’s valuables and quietly fueled his operation had been overrun.
