Chapter 63 Fervid

Fervid

Don’t get me wrong, I love my job but there’s no better feeling than

The clouds are darker, a sign that it’s going to rain.

I don’t want to say I hate it when it rains because I’d be dumb to say that but I hate when rain falls and I’m not in my bed. I always feel like that’s where I should be when it rains. In. My. Bed.

Oh gawd mon wah nice like wen it a tear and yuh wrap up in a yuh sheet?

“Mommy me a go hurry and get in a the car before the rain start fall,” I say as I walk over to the parking lot.

I feel a few rain drops on me as I make my way over to Nickoi’s G.L.E.

His reaction to my accident was surprising. He wasn’t mad at me but he did scold me a little about driving when I’m tired. He allowed me to choose a car of my choice from the section he pointed out. Some cars were off limits for me, he said they were way too fast or expensive for me to drive.

I’m totally fine with the options he gave me. Besides, the Gle drives nicely and feels like a spaceship.

You know actually, I’m taking a liking for how high it makes me feel. My C-63 is my baby still.

But you a cheat fi now? My subconscious ask and I laugh.

I get in the Gle and realize that the students are speed walking off the campus while some are running. Then suddenly, it starts pouring violently on the car roof.

The place looks dark like it’s 7pm and it’s only 3:25.

I need to get home.

After that complicated call and dangerous ride home through the violent rain, I got home safely.

Thank God.

I got a little wet, getting in the house. I could’ve entered through the garage but my fingerprint isn’t on the door as yet. I had to walk around to the front in order to get inside.

The house is quiet.

There’s no one here and it’s spotless too.

I slump down in the sofa and kick off my chanel loafer. Just before I head to the bathroom to pee. Then I tie my wig in a ponytail and place a headband around my head.

I yawn.

I’m hungry and tired too.

To my surprise, someone cooked dinner and I’m sure it isnt Nickoi.

Style yaw style eh man? My subconscious laughs.

Curry shrimp and rice. Not only does it look good but it tastes good too. In no time I’m done eating. I grab a Fiji water and head to my room.

I reply to a few text messages on my socials before I take a quick shower. After that, I clad myself in a grey two piece and slide in my bed. My thighs pressed together at the thought of Nickoi. I want to hear his husky voice.

My palms pats the bed for my phone. I feel it and dial his number immediately. He doesn’t answer. Then he calls back.

“I’m home,” I purr.

“Wah gwaan Mami?” his voice captivating.

I want you.

“I’m just… here…waiting to see you,” I say and he chuckles briefly.

“Wah see me,” he repeats.

I know he’s smiling.

“…a the weather doh?” I laugh because I’m guilty.

“Right now yes but I always want to see you, the weather nuh normally matter,” I smile.

He chuckles again. “Mi a hear yuh,” he replies and what he says next sends chills down my spine. “Wah you wah do when me reach in?”

I’m horny..

I get flashbacks of his toned body. His dark eyes, his lips… him.

“I think you know but since you a play mi a go tell yuh exactly what I want so you might as well reach here faster. Wah Shen say inna the song? Mi waah yuh fi strangle mi and tie me up like a the last time yah see me,” I say boldly. “But yup. I’m waiting impatiently for you.”

He’s silent on the line… someone’s speechless.

“Jah Jah,” he finally says. “You drink nutt’n Mami?”

“Nah,” I answer.

“Jah…” he’s still in shock. “Mi a fawud in the next 20 minutes.”

“10 minutes,” I say and he chuckles.

“Ah. 10 minutes.”

NICKOI

I rest the phone on my lap, legs spreading in and out, for a second I lose my focus. I look over at the woman when I park at her gate. She looks nervous. My eyes shifts to Jordane too before I speak. “Unuh good?” They both nod.

“Ah, unuh fawud,” I step out and feel Jania touching me.

“She feisty and she will say rude things to yuh, so please nuh mind her cause I love my mother,” she begs.

“Just fawud man.”

Her mom is still arguing, she doesn’t even realize that she has visitors. Ol’ Chattabox.

“Mi chat to them pan the phone enuh Bigz and mi make him know say him affi deal wid mi daughter and him say yes. Mi seh all him big bredda mi affi rush up, same one weh dem say a Don,” she lies.

I smile to myself. I can’t take this woman serious. She’s a joke. Her friend touches her hand when he spots me and she snaps her head around, she stops talking immediately. In my peripheral view, Jordane is holding Jania’s hand as we approach their house.

She lives in a Garrison and the Don here is Junior’s friend. Who she really did a go mek program we? It would just backfire on her and get her killed. I stay silent, watching my surroundings as she flashes her plastic smiles and phoney greetings. She can keep it.

She hugs them and I rest my hand on my waist the entire time. She finally looks at me, she was avoiding to face me.

I know she’d hate her friend to see how she truly behaves with me.

“Prezi,” she stretches her arms.

I look pass it and she drops it with a sheepish smile. Jordane and Jania speaks to her and I observe them silently. Her friend Bigz hasn’t look up for once.

When the rain starts pouring down I step away a little from the railing without stepping a foot in her house.

I don’t trust her and I hate two faced people.

Well, I don’t hate her but as I said before, I can’t take her serious. During my scrutiny I overhear her offering food to Jordane.

He knows better.

Before he could get the chance to say no, because a affi that him did aguh say, I interrupt them.

“Mi buy food fi yuh it in a the car yuh good,” I lie. I’ll buy it after because he’s probably hungry.

Jordane gives me a knowing smile.

“Yeah, mi have food thanks,” he says to her.

“Arite.”

I look over at Jania and Jordane and they’re talking with the woman. The friend is still silent.

“Jordane mi affi cut yah now,” I say, with Zara on my mind. I need to see her.

He doesn’t argue even though he doesn’t want that. Instead he kisses his girlfriend before saying bye to her. I hug her briefly.

“Take care and anything you need call me or Jordane. We willing fi help,” I tell her and she smiles.

“Thanks Prezi,” her mom smiles.

I nod.

“Make me shelter unuh,” Jania says, taking up a blue umbrella.

I smile and allow her to walk next to Jordane, I’m barely underneath it. I quickly pull my car door and get in and Jordane comes in after. She waves at us before she walks over to her house.

ZARA

I’m wrapped up in the sheet, rain drops slapping the glass balcony. The only missing piece is my man. Then my day is set. Where is he though?

My mother sends a message disrupting my thoughts and I open it immediately. It’s a voice note.

“Pastor Jacobs is enthusiastic about the idea it’s just Nickoi now. If him deh there ask him if him a go come a the church okay then unuh can make a date. Respond asap cause Pastor Jacobs has a busy schedule.”

“Okay. We argued about Christening them before but mi a see if his mind change. If it doesn’t, we’ll work with the alternative and I’ll ask him if he’ll come to the church.”

I send the voice note then suddenly, the door pulls and he walks in. I didn’t hear his car or anything.

“Come to church fi wah mami?” Shit, he heard.

I wanted to explain first. Mi know him head nuh good sometimes.

With a sigh, I stare up at him. He’s standing in front of me. I hold his belt.

I pull his buckle and caress his erection through his underwear. As I do, I can feel his eyes piercing through me.

“We can talk about this later,” I breathe.

“Just mek mi know first,” he steps back. Watch yah?

I hiss.

“Nickoi wah do yuh?!” I have a feeling he heard the Christening part too. Look how mi horny and this man a get pan mi nerves?

“How yuh mean wah do me?!” he’s angry too. I stand up. “Mi tell you a thing and yuh still a come back with the same foolishness.”

“Why you hate the idea so much?” I look up at him.

“Mi nuh hate the idea mi just feel say it unnecessary and mi nuh wah go inna deh church deh. Mi deeven wah mi youth dem in deh!”

“Anuh your pitney dem alone enuh so you cya tell me the babies cya go in deh!”

“Mi have mi reasons mek mi nuh wah mi youth dem in deh,” he’s getting on my nerves.

“What’s the reason?” I ask then I explain the alternative to him. He hiss and my anger flares. I find myself cursing profanities at him too.

He grabs my throat.

“Watch weh yaw say to me yuh yer that gyal?” his voice impassive, so is his face.

I glare at him before I push pass him and flounce to the balcony.

I hold the railing, glaring out on the balcony, hearing as he argues that I don’t understand why he says certain things and I’m always pushing things. I face palm myself before I angrily stride over to him and push him on the bed aggressively.

He falls on the bed, staring at me surprised and impressed too.

I straddle him, my hand slipping around his neck as my tongue traces slow, deliberate circles that make his brow lift in surprise.

My teeth find his skin, teasing with little bites before my lips follow in softer kisses, all while my hips roll against him.

His palm cracks against my ass, the sting quickly replaced by the rough grip of his hand as he squeezes hard, claiming me.

He hardens beneath me as I grind against him, my mouth tracing over the ink on his neck before finding his lips.

His hand hooks the back of my neck, dragging me into a ravenous kiss.

Fingers slip lower, tugging at the waistband of my leggings with urgent need.

I look down and hoist my body as he hooks my panty and pulls it off.

He pushes the strap of my blouse down. I lift my arms and he pulls it over my head.

In no time we’re both naked.
