Nothing But Friends

My best friend Holly wants my baby. Not a relationship, not romance. Just a baby. Apparently, that’s a perfectly reasonable thing to ask your best friend. And if I say no? She’ll find someone else.

We’ve been best friends since we were kids. We’ve never even kissed. Never cuddled. Hardly even hugged. Now we’re trying to make a baby.

We do and say things we never would have under normal circumstances. She insists this changes nothing. For me, it changes everything.

I was supposed to give her a baby, not fall hopelessly in love with her. And now I’m staring at two pink lines… and realize I’ve made a terrible mistake. Somewhere along the way, I gave her my heart.
