Chapter 15 Starling

FIFTEEN

STARLING

The four of us fall silent as the guys walk away. “Do you actually have a plan for Courtney, or were you just saying that you do so that Sebastian doesn’t take over?” Bunny asks.

“I had a plan until I saw those texts. Now I think everything I had planned was too nice,” I admit.

“What had you planned to do?” January asks cautiously, like she’s not entirely sure she wants to know the answer to that question.

I shrug. “The usual. Kicked out of school, publicly humiliated, reputation ruined, that kind of stuff.”

“And now?” Sammy asks.

“Now, honestly, I’m not too sure. I know she needs to suffer. I mean, blackmailing me is one thing, but planning to get her boyfriend to actually hurt me? That’s so much worse.”

“Maybe you should just let the guys kill her. They could get away with it, you know they could. We’d all have alibis so we’d be safe, and I’m not sure that making her poor and a laughing stock is a suitable punishment for what she had planned for you,” Sammy says seriously.

Lifting her hands to cover her ears, Bunny shakes her head.

“I don’t want to hear this. I need plausible deniability.

I’m sorry. I love you all, but I’m not okay with anyone dying.

I’m not sure I’m even okay with you plotting to ruin their lives, even though I know they both deserve it. I’m not like you, Starling.”

“Why don’t you and January head back to your house? Hunter said his dad was on the way over to get you and take you both on a girls’ trip with his mom and Bunny’s Nana. You both should pack.”

“I can stay if you need me,” January says softly.

“I love you both, but no, you should go. Tell Nana we said hi,” I tell them, giving them the out they need.

“Tell Nana I’m expecting her to come visit once this baby is born. She and your grandpa are the only great-grandparents he’s going to have,” Sammy says, her hand on her stomach.

Bunny pushes out of her seat, then pauses, waiting for January to follow her. When she does, I smile, watching them head toward the beach.

“You don’t have to be a part of this either,” I tell Sammy.

Scoffing, she rolls her eyes. “Like I’d leave you alone to deal with that bunch of psychos.”

“I’m pretty sure we’re psychos too.”

“True.” She laughs.

“Sebastian wants to get me pregnant,” I blurt, unsure where the confession has come from.

“Holy fuck.” She laughs again. “I’m not surprised, though. I bet Hunter and Clay both want to jump on the baby train too. They’ll want their kids to grow up together the same way they did. Did you tell him to go fuck himself?”

Grimacing a little, I shake my head. “No.”

“So, you want to have a baby. Now. At twenty?”

“No. Yes. I don’t know. Maybe.”

“Did Sebastian pull a Sebastian and blackmail you into this?” she asks, clearly unconvinced.

“No, not really.”

“Not really?”

“Well, since we’ve been doing the whole sex whenever he wants thing.”

“Free use,” she corrects.

“Yeah, that. Well, things have been really good between us. I know it’s weird, but I like him having total control over that.

I like him being so desperate for me that he just has to have me then and there.

But I also like that it’s given him this way of balancing his need for control.

He’s sleeping again, and that look has gone from his eyes. ”

“What look?” she questions.

“The crazy frantic fear. The look that made me think he might actually lock me in a cage one day, just to make sure I can’t ever leave him.”

“A cage could be hot. He could fuck you through the bars,” Sammy says absently.

“Jesus, Sammy.” I laugh.

“Sorry. I know what you mean, though. You’ve both seemed happier the last few weeks. But will a baby help or hinder?”

“God knows. But I can see it; I can see that future. Us as a family with a house full of kids, and he wants it.”

“But now?”

“I know,” I sigh. “But our lives aren’t like other people’s.

We don’t have to worry about paying bills or graduating and getting jobs.

We don’t have to worry about the cost of tuition if it takes a year longer to finish school.

We don’t have to worry about paying for formula or diapers.

I have a credit card with a limit so high that I could go and buy the house I grew up in outright and not even get halfway to maxing it out.

Having this life means not having to wait to have what you want. ”

“Evan wants a house full of kids, but depending on how much it hurts to push this one out, he might be an only child.”

“I know you didn’t get any choice in it, but you’re not unhappy about the baby now, are you?” I ask.

“No,” she says with a soft smile. “I knew that unchaining Evan’s beast and taunting him into finally claiming me would come with the risk of him doing something insane.

I never anticipated this.” She pats her belly affectionately.

“But I love him, and I want this life. This baby is just part of the crazy that comes with marrying a psycho.”

“Exactly,” I agree. “Plus, Sebastian said that unless I agreed to try for a baby, we’d only be doing anal until I was ready,” I say in a rush.

“Oh my god,” Sammy splutters, spitting out the sip of juice she’s just taken.

Sammy and I spend the next hour plotting how to get revenge on Courtney in a way that’s more impactful than simply ruining her reputation, but not as extreme as allowing the guys to kill her.

When Sebastian, Evan, and Hunter step out onto the patio, Hunter’s eyes immediately start searching for his wife.

“Bunny and January didn’t feel comfortable being involved, so they went back to January and Clay’s to wait for your dad,” I tell Hunter.

“You didn’t ask them to stay?” he questions.

“No. I might be fully indoctrinated into this life now, but Bunny and especially January are still…” I pause, trying to find the right words. “Soft enough to be upset by the things we do.”

Inhaling sharply, Hunter slowly nods. “Is that why you helped her run?” he asks, shocking me. “Because you wanted to protect her softness.”

Swallowing, I take a moment. “Partly. I didn’t want her to become me, but I also needed you to understand what you were doing. I needed all of you to see the damage your actions can cause.”

Hunters’s eyes harden, then lose some of their ire as his shoulders slump. “I’m still upset with you. But I’ll get over it. Thank you for caring enough to protect her.”

“I’m still upset with you too,” I admit. “But I’ll get over it too.”

Scoffing, he smiles and laughs to himself before striding to me, picking me up out of my chair, and hugging me to him in a bone-crushing hug that makes me laugh and tears fill my eyes at the same time.

Pressing a kiss to my cheek, he lowers me to the ground, then nods to Sebastian.

“I’m going to go and see my wife before she leaves.

I can’t spend more than a couple of days without her, so that’s how long we have to fuck Courtney up.

After that, I’ll need to figure out a way of giving her an alibi at home. ”

When I turn to Sebastian, his eyes are dark and full of the kind of lust that usually ends with me being bent over whatever I’m close to.

“That’s our cue to go,” Sammy says in a singsong voice. “All this sexual tension is making me horny, and I honestly don’t think there’s a single position I can comfortably have sex in right now.”

“Don’t worry, Wild One, I’ll make it work,” Evan says, scooping his very pregnant wife into his arms and leaving.

“Strip,” Sebastian says, the single word a plea, an order, and an aphrodisiac all rolled into one.

Grabbing the strings at the back of my bikini, I tug them both at the same time and the tiny triangles fall from my body, fluttering to the floor. Doing the same on the bottoms, I kick off my shoes, leaving myself naked and exposed as his eyes devour me.

“I’m a lucky, fucking man,” he says, caressing me with his hungry gaze.

My throat goes dry, and I swallow thickly while I wait for him to come to me. My skin is warm from the sun, and the feral desire that started coursing through me the moment he looked at me like he couldn’t last a single moment longer without being inside of me.

“Tell me what you plan to do to Courtney,” he demands.

“Right now, I don’t care about her.”

“Do you need me, wife?” he questions.

I nod.

“Do you need to come on my fingers and my tongue?”

I nod.

“Do you need to be full of my dick?”

I nod again.

“Do you need me to pump my cum into you and fill you with my baby?”

My heart stutters to a stop, my lungs freezing in my chest. Rationally, I know the likelihood of him getting me pregnant today is practically impossible. But saying yes and admitting, even in the throes of lust that I want him to get me pregnant, feels significant.

“Answer me, Little Bird. Do you want me to crawl between your legs, spread your thighs, and fuck you until you’re full of my baby, until I make you mine so completely that we create a new life that’s half you, half me?”

“Yes,” I whisper.

“Yes?” he questions, even though I know he heard my answer.

“Yes. Make me yours. Make me so yours that we create a baby.”

Rushing me, Sebastian lifts me off the floor, then carries me into the house and upstairs to our bedroom. Throwing open the door, he dumps me on the bed and follows me down, burying his head between my thighs before I have a chance to move.

I don’t have time to prepare before his tongue forces my first orgasm from me. His fingers in my pussy and the plug in my ass cause the second. His dick is solely responsible for the third.

“Oh my god,” I rasp when he lifts my butt off the bed and pushes a pillow beneath me, keeping my hips elevated and my pelvis rolled back. “What are you doing?”

“Keeping my cum in you,” he says, like it should be obvious.

“I need a shower, I’m covered in sunscreen, sweat, and cum.”

“No chance. I’m not done with you, and you won’t be washing me out of you any time soon,” he growls.

“I’m sticky, and there’s…dripping.” I grimace.
