Chapter 14
Chapter Fourteen
Everett
Everett straightened up and crossed his arms, annoyed that Dax so obviously wanted him but was still fighting it.
“There is no way I can share a bed with you and keep my hands to myself, Dax. Do you have even an inkling of the attraction I have toward you? And I’m not a fool—I can see you feel it as well.
You’re sitting right in front of me with your dick hard.
But something is holding you back, and it’s not that silly company rule, either.
” He swallowed a hard lump that had gathered in his throat and said exactly what he knew the problem to be.
“You think I’m breakable for some reason. ”
Dax shut his eyes again and sighed. “It’s not that I think you’re breakable. It’s that I’m a fucking ogre, Everett.”
That gave Everett pause. “Figuratively or literally?”
“Literally.”
Oh. That was interesting. And…intriguing.
Everett thought of all the fictional—or had they been?
—depictions of ogres and couldn’t help but look over Dax’s head for horns.
The ogres in the painting on his living room wall were giants with horns.
“Are you using one of those glamours to hide your true self?”
“I am.”
Everett felt a stab of disappointment. “So this isn’t your face or your body?”
“They are. This is how I truly look, but I mask my horns and tusks.”
Tusks? How intriguing. “Can you let me see?”
He looked like he was considering it, but there was a hesitation there still.
“Never mind,” Everett said quickly, though it still bothered him that this wonderful man, or ogre, felt the need to hide parts of himself from Everett. “You don’t have to show me now, but I would like to see at some point. Would like to see the real you.”
Dax was silent a few moments before running his hand over his bare scalp. He stood from where he’d been sitting on the toilet lid. “The real problem is that my species has supernatural strength, so I’m worried that I’ll lose control and hurt you because my need for you makes me a little…crazy.”
Everett grinned. “Oh, I like hearing that.”
Dax narrowed his eyes. “That you make me crazy?”
“Of course!” Everett threw up his hands.
“Everyone wants to drive someone mad with lust. It’s not only flattering but also means that together, we’ll be explosive.
Who wouldn’t want that?” Everett stepped closer to Dax and tilted his head back to stare into his eyes.
“You turn me on so much, Dax. All of you. And I’m sure even the parts I can’t see will, as well.
They are as much a part of you as your big, beautiful body and your even bigger beautiful brain.
You’re the whole package for me, and I couldn’t care less that I don’t even reach your shoulders in height.
” He picked up Dax’s hand and placed it on his chest. “Just feel me. I’m strong.
Please don’t underestimate me. I’m a strong man who happens to desire another strong man, and if we’re going to share a bed, then things are going to happen. ”
Dax’s mouth twitched. “Are they?”
“Don’t you want that, too? I mean, if your need for me is that strong…” He gave Dax a smile as he reached up to gather fistfuls of Dax’s shirt so he could pull him down. “Kiss me.”
Everett actually felt sparks shooting off in his body when those soft lips met his.
Still, he could feel Dax holding back, so he pressed in, forcing those lips open and thrusting his tongue into Dax’s mouth.
That was apparently all Dax needed to let go because in the next instant, Everett was lifted off his feet and kissed to within an inch of his life.
Deep, drugging kisses that made him glad Dax was holding onto him so tightly, because he would have sagged if still on his feet.
Dax pulled back and set Everett down. “I want to do this with you, but you have to speak up if I get too rough.”
“I don’t have a problem with rough, but how about me riding you?”
Dax visibly swallowed, his nostrils flaring.
Everett slowly ran his hands up that wide, muscular chest, hair crinkling under his palms. “I’ll control the movements.” He lowered his voice. “The depth.” He stood on his toes. “But I want your hands on me. I like to be touched.”
Dax curled those hands into fists.
“I know you can be gentle. I thought it was a dream, but you carried me carefully.” Everett leaned closer and whispered, “Just don’t be too gentle.”
“Fuck, Everett.”
“Yes,” he nodded. “Fuck Everett.”
Dax suddenly bent and lifted Everett and Everett wrapped his legs around him.
“You do know I’m thirty-six years old,” Everett drawled playfully, though inside, this show of strength turned him the hell on. “Kind of old to be carried off to bed.”
“You could never be too old for this.” Dax left the master bathroom and walked out of the master bedroom to the stairs, his hands cupping Everett’s ass.
Everett buried his face in Dax’s neck. “Damn, you smell good. Reminds me of a fireplace burning in winter.”
“Your scent appeals to me as well.”
Everett kissed the warm skin over Dax’s pulse as the ogre climbed the staircase. Every step made his dick rub against Dax’s soft belly. He tightened his legs, groaning when Dax kneaded his ass. He could feel the strength in that grip. It turned him on even more.
They reached the landing, and Dax paused, nudging Everett’s head up so he could slide his lips over his.
Everett opened his mouth, loving the glide of Dax’s tongue against his own.
It was a sensual dance. White-hot lust curled in his belly, making his cock ache.
He thrust against Dax, stroking his tongue deep into Dax’s mouth.
This…need…was like a living thing inside him, expanding and simmering to a boil. He’d had good sex before, but nothing had ever quite felt like this. Everything about Dax attracted him. It was like his body, his heat, and even his scent had been designed just for Everett.
He moaned and pulled back to gasp. “Dax, this is… It’s…”
“I know,” Dax growled out the words. “I think I might die if I don’t fuck you now.”
“Wouldn’t want that.” Everett kissed down Dax’s jaw to his neck and sucked on the salty skin there. “Take me to my bedroom now. There’s condoms and lube.” He tilted his head back to look at Dax. “Do we even need condoms? Since you’re…what you are?”
“No, we don’t.”
“Oh, fuck,” Everett moaned. The thought of going bare had him clenching his hole. He’d never done that. This would be a first time, in a sense. He was so thankful he’d taken a thorough shower earlier and prepared his body. Just in case. He had been hoping for this. He was ready for this.
Dax carried him into the bedroom and set him on his feet next to the bed. Impatient now, Everett tugged his Henley over his head and dropped it to the floor. He kicked off his shoes and bent to remove his socks.
When he came back up, Dax was just standing there, watching.
Everett paused to take in that wide expanse of muscled chest. There was a patch of hair across Dax’s pecs, and he was positively ripped except for the small pooch of that sexy belly. Strong, yet soft—his body like a dream for Everett.
Everett didn’t even reach Dax’s shoulders, and though he was toned, he looked skinny next to this big, beefy man. He hoped Dax liked what he saw.
But as he looked up into Dax’s face, the desire blazing there made him shiver.
Oh, he so does.
Everett’s hands ached to touch, so he repeated the move he’d made in the office downstairs, slowly running his hands up that amazing chest. Dax’s skin was hot, the hair on his chest crisp, yet soft under Everett’s palms. Their differences in sizes was so obvious when standing together like this, but Everett liked it.
He was usually smaller than his partners—it was just the way it was.
But this felt a little unreal, and again, he felt that brush of complete awareness over his skin.
He supposed it could be Dax’s magic, but it didn’t make him wary at all.
He had a feeling it was actually deeper than that.
They had a connection that he felt all the way to his soul.
He took Dax’s hand and pulled him toward the bed. Dax didn’t seem to mind bending down to kiss him or hell, plucking him right off his feet to make them even, but Everett was ready to meet him as an equal. Fuck that, Everett was ready to be on that bed with the big, burly guy.
He pushed Dax to sit on the bed, then crawled right onto his lap and straddled his hips.
Dax took advantage immediately, devouring Everett’s mouth with an intensity that made him dizzy—in a good way.
Dax’s kisses felt like an alcoholic buzz, making him lightheaded and flooding his body with a delicious warmth.
Hands cupped his neck, then slid over his shoulders. but the touch was almost too gentle.
Dax was still holding back with him.
Everett started to say something but didn’t want to part their mouths. The man was just going to have to learn for himself that Everett was a lot tougher than he looked.
He supposed he could have been slightly offended, but he imagined that with Dax’s size and supernatural strength, this had always been an issue for him. So Everett didn’t take it personally.
Dax broke their kiss and trailed his lips down Everett’s neck, which had always been a highly erogenous zone.
He moaned and stretched his head back to give Dax all the access.
When Dax sucked on his neck, he couldn’t stop another whimper from leaving his throat.
He grasped Dax’s shoulders, digging in his fingers briefly before he stroked his palms down those thick arms. Dax had the silkiest skin he’d ever felt, and again, he marveled over the absolute heat that seemed to emanate from his body.
He was like a living furnace. For someone who always ran cold, that was highly desirable.
Everett couldn’t stop touching that skin, and he moved around to feel the strong muscles in Dax’s back.
He wrapped his arms around Dax’s neck when the man came back up to his mouth.
Their chests pressed together, and he gasped into Dax’s mouth as all that heat seeped into him.
He so wished he’d taken off his jeans—and Dax’s—before he’d plopped down on his lap.
He wanted to feel more of that fantastic skin against his.
With that thought in mind, he let go and scrambled to his feet, then laughed and tried to pull Dax up. “We need to lose the rest of our clothes.”
Dax stood, his hands going to his fly, and Everett nearly swallowed his tongue watching him peel his jeans down those thick thighs. Dax was just built so large, he seemed almost inhuman.
Oh yeah… He was.
“You going to lose your pants, too?” Dax asked, a twinkle in his eyes.
“Just enjoying the show. You’re really gorgeous, Dax.”
“I don’t know about that,” he muttered as he tugged his pants all the way off.
When his hands went to his underwear, Everett found himself speechless again because…
Damn. Dax was larger than normal, his dick a thing of absolute beauty.
Long and uncut with heavy balls nestled beneath.
His legs were heavily muscled like his upper body and arms, but Everett zeroed in on that soft belly.
He couldn’t resist reaching out to stroke it.
“I love your body,” Everett whispered. “Everything about it. Fuck, you turn me on so much.”
The heat blazing in Dax’s eyes threatened to burn him alive. “Want to see you,” Dax breathed.
Everett hurriedly took off his jeans and stood there, feeling faintly embarrassed because he did run on the skinny side. He wasn’t ashamed of his form in any way, shape, or form, but again, it was their complete opposition that came to the forefront of his mind.
Dax reverently stroked his hands down Everett’s chest and stopped at his belly briefly before he touched his finger to the tip of Everett’s very hard cock. He slid that finger around gently, gathering up the bead of precum that had pearled there.
He lifted his hand to his face and licked his finger.
“Fuck,” Everett grunted out as he pushed Dax back onto the bed.
This time when he climbed into his lap, there was nothing between them, and it felt so good he had to close his eyes and just take things in.
Already this felt like more to him. More than just a hookup.
And when he opened his eyes and met Dax’s gaze, he saw that he wasn’t alone in feeling that way.
