Chapter Twenty-Six #3

Valentin freed his fingers. Wes immediately felt the emptiness, but he rolled to lie next to Assa. Sliding an arm under his shoulders, he glued them together at their sides before placing a soft kiss on Assa’s cheek.

Eyes fixed on Valentin, Wes pulled back Assa’s closest knee with his free hand. Wes’s cum leaked from his hole, dripping onto the plush rug beneath them.

“Make him see stars, alpha.”

Valentin directed a fiery stare at Wes before turning his attention to Assa.

The alpha pushed Assa’s legs back and slammed into him.

His biceps trembled and the sinewy muscles in his back flexed with his efforts.

Wes had been aroused countless times watching other men fuck Assa.

But this was the first time he was mesmerized by the pure beauty of the act, by the way Valentin and Assa moved together in the dark—perfectly, gracefully, timelessly.

Inevitably.

The gravity of the moment settled within him like a precious weight, even as the carnal sounds of flesh slapping against flesh filled the room.

Needing more than to watch, Wes grasped Assa’s cock and stroked it in time with Valentin’s thrusts.

A moment later, Assa unloaded, shooting ropes of cum all over his stomach.

With another growl, Valentin announced his release, pinning Assa down and pistoning his hips. At the look of ecstasy on Assa’s face as the alpha drilled him, Wes nearly came again.

A tear dripped down Assa’s cheek. “So good,” he whispered, mostly to himself. “I didn’t know.”

Valentin pulled out and rolled to Assa’s other side, panting heavily. The air shifted as Valentin came down from his release. The retreat of his inner alpha was palpable.

“That was so hot,” Assa whooshed out, still catching his breath.

Wes and Valentin stroked Assa from opposite sides, letting him feel their adoration. Valentin seemed to intuit exactly what Assa needed.

Eventually, Valentin stood and disappeared behind a door Wes hadn’t noticed before, as it blended seamlessly into the wall. He returned with two warm washcloths.

Wes took them both, wiping down Assa and then himself. Valentin, who’d cleaned up in the hidden bathroom, sat next to them, watching.

While it wasn’t awkward the way it sometimes was after hookups, Wes had a distinct sense of not knowing what to do next. Their babysitter would be sleeping in the spare room since they’d paid him to stay until the early hours, but still, they couldn’t linger forever.

“Did we close the place down?” Wes asked.

Valentin stood and peered through the shades onto the dance floor. “Mm-hmm. Technically, we closed an hour ago, but it always takes a while for Xan to herd the stragglers out.”

“It’s been a long time since I saw last call at a club,” Assa mused. He rested on his elbows and looked at Valentin. “This has been a heck of a night.”

The alpha smiled. “An understatement.”

Assa exhaled. “I’m pretty boneless right now, but I guess I should drag my ass up so we can get out of your way.”

“There’s no rush,” Valentin said. “I’m probably going to crash here tonight anyway. You’re welcome to stay as long as you want.”

“As tempting as that sounds, we should get home,” Wes said. “We have a seven-year-old who will be very disappointed if I don’t have pancakes ready in the morning.”

“We bribed him so he’d be good for the sitter,” Assa added.

Valentin nodded. “Nothing like a little incentive if it gets the job done.”

Assa laughed. “Did we just kill the vibe? Mentioning pancakes and babysitters?”

Valentin reached down and helped Assa to his feet, gathering him in his arms before kissing his nose. “Beautiful beta, the vibe between us is unmatched. You and Wes being fathers diminishes nothing. If anything, it makes you more real. And nothing’s sexier than that.”

“Real?” Wes repeated, raising an eyebrow as he pulled on his shirt.

He expected Valentin to crack a smile or make a joke, but he didn’t.

“Not to sound dramatic, but the last few hours have felt like a dream,” the alpha said.

“From the minute I saw you, it’s like I was on a different plane.

” He walked over to Wes and cupped his jaw.

“Thank you for this night. I didn’t know how much I needed it until you gave it to me.

” He kissed him hard on the lips. “I bet you make excellent pancakes.”

In silence, they finished dressing. Valentin didn’t put his suit back on, instead changing into loose joggers and a white T-shirt he produced from a cabinet.

“Look,” Valentin began as Wes and Assa prepared to leave.

“I know we didn’t exactly specify that this was a one-and-done when you came up here, but I understand it was implied.

And if that’s what works for you guys, cool.

I don’t know if you do repeats. I usually don’t, but I find myself wanting to this time.

So, if you’re willing, I’d like to keep in touch. ”

Assa and Wes looked at one another in mutual understanding.

“You’re right that we haven’t done a lot of repeats…but we don’t want to let go of this yet either,” Wes said. Next to him, Assa dipped his chin.

They exchanged numbers, and Valentin opened the door for them. He gave Assa a sweet kiss, then pointed at the window to the dance floor. “I’m so grateful you looked up.”

Assa flushed. “I couldn’t look away.”

Next, Valentin kissed Wes. Not delicately. The alpha mashed their lips together, pushing his tongue into Wes’s mouth and swirling it around until Wes nearly lost his breath.

When Valentin pulled back, he squeezed Wes’s shoulder. Pressing their foreheads together, he hushed out, “Thank you for trusting me.”

“Alpha.” Wes made the word six syllables long.

“I’ll see you soon,” Valentin vowed.

Even though they hadn’t made a definitive plan—Wes didn’t know who would text who, or the next time they would see each other—he had no doubt it would happen. As he and Assa crossed the dance floor that looked completely different with the lights on, they passed a smiling Xan.

“Good night, gentlemen,” the guard said, tipping an imaginary hat.

Wes smiled back as they exited into the cool night air, unembarrassed that Xan knew exactly what they’d gotten up to with Valentin.

“Why do you think it was so intense with him?” Assa asked once they’d settled into the back seat of their taxi. He rested his head in Wes’s lap as the driver raised the partition.

Wes carded his fingers through Assa’s hair. “I’m not sure. I just know it was special. He was special. Different.”

“For sure.”

“Maybe some people are simply more compatible, beyond being alpha, beta, or omega. Relative to who they are as people.” Wes shrugged.

“It’s not like you to be such a philosopher.” Assa tickled Wes’s thigh. “I guess it doesn’t matter why it was…the way it was. It only matters that we all felt it. And Wes?”

“Yes?”

“We need to see him again. I know we exchanged numbers, but we need to make sure it happens.”

Wes had no intention of letting Assa down. He was also eager to find out what came next.

They had thought finding a third would be a return to the familiar, but they’d stumbled into uncharted territory.

“We’ll see him again,” Wes stated. “I think he wants it as badly as we do.”

Assa chuffed. “Yeah, but I also think he shocked himself with that. He seemed as surprised by how things unfolded as we were.”

“I got that impression too.”

“He certainly had a way with words and…praise.” Assa shivered. “But the not fucking omegas thing, that was odd, right? There has to be a story there.”

“You’re right. Something probably happened. It didn’t sound like a preference. More like a discipline.”

“Maybe he’ll explain it someday. When we know him better.”

“Maybe.”

The taxi drove through the deserted early morning streets, lulling Assa to sleep.

Wes thought about his words. Would they get to know Valentin better?

Find out why he didn’t sleep with omegas?

Or learn anything else about his life? Even with partners they’d kept for a few weeks, they had never gotten farther than superficial friendliness.

What would have been the point, when it had only ever been about fun and sex?

He scratched his fingernails over Assa’s scalp.

They’d only met Valentin a few hours ago and Wes was already certain it was different with him.

What he didn’t know was, if it wasn’t just fun and sex, what was it?
