Jealousy

Chapter twenty-one

Dean was spitting mad, literally. It took both men to keep him from attacking Vale. I could feel Vale stiffen beside me as his feral side came to the surface.

"Hey, Vale, no. You don't need to go feral. Smell me. Then go upstairs to your room, away from triggers."

He turned to me, his eyes blazing, already partly gone. "Safety. For mate."

"Vale!" I grabbed his face as he turned, lowering his head and ready to charge at Dean. "NO!"

I pulled his head down toward me, burying it in my neck. Feeling him inhale deeply and finally relax, I let him go. There was a whine from Dean, who apparently did not like what he'd seen.

"Can you please go upstairs? I promise I'm safe. Dean would never hurt me."

Vale growled at Dean, who growled right back.

"Okay, enough." I grabbed Vale's arm and dragged him out of the room. He let me, of course, since it would have been impossible to haul the man anywhere against his will. I simply wasn't strong enough.

When we reached the stairs, I swatted his butt. "No more kisses if you don't go up."

He widened his eyes and turned, stomping up the stairs, muttering about kisses under his breath. One down, one to go.

Marching back to where Zephyr and Kienan had wrestled Dean into a chair, I strode up to him and leaned into his face. "No more of this stupidity! You're acting like Vale is going to take me away. I'm here for both of you!"

"Mine," he snapped.

There was no reasoning with a feral alpha. I had to bring him back somehow. Even pushing my hair into his face to smell didn't help.

"He saw you kissing in the car," Zephyr muttered.

"Oh, shut up!" Kienan wailed as Zephyr's words registered with the alpha in the chair.

Dean roared and lunged, trying to move past me, but I jumped onto his lap, knocking him back in the seat. "No. Bad alpha."

He looked confused for a minute, then realized I was on his lap. He instantly hardened and jerked his hips up to rock against me.

"Dean. No. You don't get to do that if you can't behave." I lifted myself on my knees so I was too far away for him to grind into. He whined desperately, pistoning his hips and arching his back to try and reach me. Nothing was getting through to him.

"An orgasm brought him back last time," Kienan said quietly. He was right. I hated that he was making the suggestion, but he and Zephyr looked worn down and exhausted.

Fine. I could do this. I'd been with plenty of alphas I didn't even like. This was different. I was instigating, sort of.

Dropping down onto his lap, I rolled my hips, letting his thick erection nestle between my legs. Dean groaned as I slid back and forth, giving him the friction he wanted. It stoked my fires too, bringing me to the edge as he groaned and grunted and jolted under me.

Then he twisted slightly and it hit just the right spot. I saw stars as pleasure exploded through my body, bursting out my fingertips. Dean was right behind me, his seed dampening both our clothes.

There was no warning as his teeth sank into my shoulder, right through the skin.

I screamed in pain, but it instantly dissolved into more pleasure, sending me straight into another orgasm.

"Fuck!" I heard Zephyr yell. Then I was being dragged away from Dean and I could hear someone else yelling in the distance. Probably Vale.

"I'm done with the jealousy," I shouted. "No more!"

Then the bond snapped into place. I could feel the surprise from my first pack as they realized there was a new bond with me.

Then confusion. They'd thrown me away and now someone else wanted me?

They must be furious. I let them feel the bond for a moment longer before I shut it down with a finality that surprised me.

That was actually easy when I had four new people to worry about.

Something was very wrong, though. I could feel the desolation and hurt through the bond. Dean was feeling horrible.

"Wait," I said to Zephyr. "I need to see him."

"He just fucking mauled your shoulder. You need medical care!" Zephyr picked me up and was heading for the front door.

"No hospitals. I could be recognized."

Zephyr swore and turned. "Then what do we do?"

Kienan stepped forward. "You do need help. We'll get you sorted upstairs. You can see him after we get your neck patched up."

"Where is he?"

"In the living room."

"Stay with him?" I begged Kienan. "He's not okay."

"I'll stay."

Zephyr ran upstairs with me and just as we entered Vale's bedroom. He carried me straight into the bathroom.

Vale jumped up from the bed and ran into the bathroom after us, just as Zephyr set me on the counter.

"First aid kit?"

"Here. What the hell happened?"

"Dean claimed her."

"What?!"

Vale pulled a first aid kit out of the cupboard and opened it up. "What do we need?"

"Stitches, but we can't take her to the hospital."

Vale peered at the wound and started dabbing at it with little pads. While he did that, Zephyr filled a basin and added some iodine before he grabbed a clean washcloth and started to clean everything around the wound.

"That looks bad." Vale sounded on edge, but he stayed present, the fogginess not taking over his eyes as he focused on pulling on gloves.

To my surprise, they had needles and everything to do stitches. Vale was shaking as he prepared the needle and thread.

"Hey, Vale," I said gently, touching his face.

"Yeah?"

"I'm okay. Relax. I'm not going to die."

"No, you're not. Not on my watch." He glared at me and then looked at the bite mark. "This is going to hurt like a bitch."

It did, but I'd been through worse. I closed my eyes and held onto Zephyr's hand while Vale worked. His breath ghosted over my shoulder and I shuddered at the way it made me feel. Even though I'd just had two orgasms, my body felt on edge and wanting. This was ridiculous.

Finally, Vale finished with the stitches and bandaged the entire area, taping the edges of the gauze down firmly. He kissed me on the lips gently.

"There, it's done. He'll need to tend it if it's going to stay healthy," Vale said with a small growl. "Under supervision."

"Of course," Zephyr agreed.

"I need to go see him," I told them. "He's desperate."

"He can wait," Vale grumbled, pulling me into his arms. He inhaled deeply.

Dean's anxiety filtered through the new bond and I tried to send reassuring feelings back to him. It wasn't helping though.

"Vale. He needs me right now. You can let me go."

"Won't." He wrapped himself more tightly around me. "Stay."

"Vale." He wasn't letting me go. "Let go."

It took a moment, but he sniffed my hair deeply and finally opened his arms.

"Thank you." I kissed his forehead as I got up to head down for Dean.
