Chapter 7

Crew

I pulled into the back alleyway, headlights off, gravel and thick snow crunching under my tires. The Bentley she was in sat tucked behind an overflowing trash bin, and because of the matte black paint, it was blending into the darkness in this cold ass alley.

When I got out of the car, I slid on my black leather gloves, flexing my fingers once before walking up to the driver’s side.

I knocked on the window twice, but the tint was too dark to see through. I then heard quiet sniffling and a small, shaky voice say, “Open it,” from the other side.

When I opened the passenger door, that nigga body damn near fell out on me, and I had to shove him back the other way, making Bria start to cry.

“You alright? You alright? Just calm down.”

Bria was curled up against the passenger door, trying to make herself as small as possible.

“You can get out of the car now, Shorty.”

“Are, are you sure, Crew? Where is Hov? I didn't want to get anyone else involved.”

“He sent me here to help you, so come on, get out so I can help.”

She climbed out slowly, then hurried around to my side, eyes wide, hands trembling like she couldn’t stop them.

There was blood splattered across her white outfit from top to bottom, and she looked empty, like she wasn’t all the way in her body right now.

She most likely had just caught her first body, and I know that shit was doing a number on her mental right now.

It's rare for me to feel this way, but I actually felt sorry for Shorty, to be honest. Killing is only a thing that a man can cope with.

Or should I say a man like me with little to no feelings towards taking a life.

“What are we going to do? What do I need to do?”

“You are going to get in my car and go back to my condo. Hit ‘home’ on the GPS on the dashboard, and it will take you straight there. You can park in front of the building in the red zone because they know not to tow my shit. When you get out, go inside, take off your clothes, put them in a plastic bag, and wait for me to get back.”

I pulled my keys from my pocket and handed them over. She stared at them for a second, before taking them quickly but still looking unsure of everything that was going on.

“What about my car?"

"Where is it?"

"It’s back around the corner from the club.”

“Alright, I’ll pick it up.”

“What about the cameras? What if they caught me?

And my fingerprints, I know they are everywhere on this car.

Plus, what if he scratched me or something?

There is so much potential evidence that I'm sure could be used against me. Maybe I should just call the police. Say he tried to rape me or something.” She was spiraling, and I grabbed her arm to stop her from talking.

“Listen, Bria.” I stepped closer, keeping my voice low to bring a little peace to her ass.

“Don’t worry about any of that. I told you I got you. Now get in the car and do what I said. I’ll be there after a while, but in the meantime, relax your mind. You safe now. Trust me."

I reached up and wiped a streak of blood from her cheek with the back of my thumb. Her breathing steadied a little, and she looked at me like I was a fuckin savior.

"Thank you, thank you so much, Crew. I’ll never forget this. Thank you!"

"No need to thank me, just go."

Bria nodded and went over to my car, taking off so fast my tires screeched on the pavement.

Usually, I don't let bitches drive my shit, but I know she needed to get away from here. Her ass probably saw pictures of bloody crime scenes, but being on one is completely different. I’ve seen niggas lose their minds completely after catching a body.

If you let that demon in, it will get to you for sho.

Once she pulled off, I turned back to his car and stared through the open door at Jinx’s shit talking ass, who couldn't say a fucking word now.

“Look at you,” I muttered.

“Your sloppy ass let a bitch slump you. Not even a hood bitch at that. You should've been let me buy that club and your high cholesterol ass could've still been alive.”

I taunted him even though he couldn't say shit back.

The alley was dead quiet except for a buzzing streetlight and the distant hum of traffic on the main road.

I know for sure that I have to get rid of this nigga better than Councilman Davis.

But truth be told, with Councilman Davis fuck ass, I didn't care if he was found. Shit, I borderline wanted him to be.

But I’ll be sure to make this nigga right here disappear forever. Bria’s gorgeous ass was scared as hell and way too pretty for prison.
