Chapter 4 #2
I need my lips on her skin again.
As we enter the bar area, I maneuver Gianna in front of me and use the opportunity to adjust my cock. It’s stiff and pushing against the waistband of my boxer briefs, trying like hell to overpower my conscious thought and dictate how this evening will play out.
As much as I want to let him take over, as much as I want this fiery hot sex kitten in my bed tonight, I need to keep it together. I don’t think I will be able to caveman Gianna into coming back to my room. She’s classy. She both commands and deserves more gentlemanly wooing.
“Kalispera.” Good evening.
As we’re greeted by the bartender, I watch as his eyes fall on Gianna’s cleavage, taking in her attire. I can see the wanting gleam in his stare, and while I can’t blame him, it makes me want to tear his head off.
“What can I get for you this evening?”
“Another strawberry daiquiri?” I ask, turning to Gianna.
My hand settled on the middle of her back, and I can’t help but run my thumb up and down along her spine. If she’s bothered by my touch, she isn’t showing it.
“Actually, I’d love a vodka soda with a lemon, please,” she requests.
“In addition to that, we’ll have two McCallan’s and a Merlot, please.”
As the bartender busies himself making our drinks, both Ez and I pull out a stool for each of the girls to sit on.
I notice Gianna mirror Eliana’s posture as they sit, facing one another.
I catch sight of something black and silky between her legs as she crosses one over the other. I didn’t mean to look, but…
Who am I trying to kid? Maybe I’m more okay with this dress than I’d thought. Easy access is never a problem.
Before I can think of something to talk about, Eliana starts in on her questioning.
“So, Gianna, what brings you to Mykonos?”
“I just finished grad school, and I’m starting a new job on Monday. So my best friend convinced me to get away for the week before jumping back into the real world.”
“Smart girl,” Eliana answers. “What will you be doing?”
I shoot Eliana a knowing look from my spot next to Gianna’s stool.
She needs to stop with the career questions.
The reason I don’t tell girls my real name is because I don’t want them finding out who I am and how much I’m worth.
I don’t know Gianna yet, and while I may want to fuck her, it doesn’t mean she’s stable enough not to try and trap me into something if she knows too much about my business.
“An office assistant. Nothing too glamorous. I’m just starting out and haven’t made it quite yet.”
As much as hearing the term “assistant” puts a bitter taste in my mouth, I don’t like the idea of her thinking of herself as less than anyone else.
“You shouldn’t be so modest. Good assistants are oftentimes the cement that holds the castle together, so to speak.” I wink at her, and the way she smiles and bites on her lower lip nearly kills me. “Everyone needs to start somewhere.”
The fire that erupts in my gaze as I’m reminded of Kati—my previous dirty, lying, blackmailing, whore of an assistant—forces me to look away from Gianna, even when it’s difficult taking my eyes off her.
I drift to Eliana and Ez; they know why.
They know what the bitterness in my stare looks like whenever I’m reminded of her.
And they’re the ones who picked me up after she swept through my life like a hurricane.
One look at them is all I need to dispel these unwanted emotions.
This isn’t the time or the place. I swallow it all down.
She’s out of my life for good. Gianna is here now, and I don’t want her to think the violence in my gaze was meant for her.
“Here we are.”
The bartender’s timing is impeccable, as he puts our drinks down just before the silence has a chance to stretch to the point of being awkward.
“Can I get you anything else at the moment?” he inquires.
"Just the check? You can charge this round to room forty-seven eighty-nine.”
“Yes, sir,” he nods before returning to the register to print the room charge receipt for me to sign.
“Thank you for the drink,” Gianna offers with a grateful smile and another bite of her bottom lip.
That seems to be her tell when she’s feeling shy. My only response is a sly smile and a wink.
“Where did you go to school?” Ez interrupts, breaking her stare from mine, causing me to miss it already.
I’ll let my friends grill her for a little while longer, but then I’ll have to put a stop to it. I know they only want what’s best for me, but again, it’s not like this is going further than the property lines of this resort. They can save the Spanish inquisition for my next future ex-wife.
“Wharton Business School in New York City. My dad went there, so I didn’t have much of a choice in the matter,” she laughs.
“Oh? I’ve heard that’s a really nice school,” Eliana states.
I have to hold in a laugh, knowing Eliana attended the school herself but she’s unable to say anything more because of the promise her and Ez made to me in the elevator. I clear my throat to keep my chuckle concealed.
Just then, there is a commotion in the lobby as a group of people enter it. At once, we all turn our attention to it as we see Gianna’s friend and a group of boys passing by.
“Oh my god,” Gianna sighs under her breath.
I watch as she tries to shield her face and stay hidden, but when her friend happens to lock eyes on me from across the lobby, the group of rowdy beach party-goers detours to the bar.
I don’t miss the glare of the boy who vied for Gianna’s attention earlier today.
He’s angry she’s with me and not him, and I love how that makes me feel.
“Hey, guys,” the best friend practically shouts, grabbing the attention of everyone else in the bar.
“Shh…” Gianna commands, though she’s smiling.
It seems as though she may have a love-hate relationship with her friend’s bubbly, vivacious personality.
“Everyone, this is Saylor, my best friend. Saylor, this is Nick, Ez, and Eliana.”
I have to admit, Saylor seems like a blast to hang out with, but perhaps in small doses.
“I can’t believe you’re going to miss out on all the fun tonight. Won’t you reconsider?” Saylor pleads with Gianna before locking eyes on the rest of us. “You can all come, you know...”
“Okay, yeah,” Gianna answers, surprising me. Earlier she had no interest in going. “We’ll be there as soon as dinner is over.”
That’s the last place I want to go after dinner, but if she really wants to make an appearance, then I’ll deal with it.
“Oh my god, yay!” Saylor squeals, hugging her friend. “Have fun at dinner. See you all later!”
“Bye,” Gianna sings as her friend walks away. When she turns her attention back to me, she says, “We’re so not going, that was just the quickest way to get rid of her.”
With a shrug of her shoulders and wide eyes, she picks up her drink and downs the rest. Her expression pulls a genuine belly laugh from me, and a light feeling ripples through my body for the first time in a very long while.
She’s adorable.
“Well, on that note,” I pause to finish my own drink. “Shall we?”
I hold my arm out, and she hops down from the stool, linking her arm through mine.
“We shall.”
“See you guys tomorrow,” I say to Ez and Eliana.
“It was wonderful to meet you both,” Gianna says to them over her shoulder as we walk away.
They respond back, letting her know the feeling is mutual. When Gianna looks up at me with dilated pupils and a cock of her left eyebrow, I wonder if it has more to do with the alcohol, or if she’s also curious where the night will lead us.
