Epilogue

Cassy

Spring was finally upon us and I smiled as I looked out the window at everyone enjoying the beautiful weather. “You look so happy, Cassy.”

I turned and smiled at my big sister, Dina. “That’s because I am. Ever since I moved in with Devon I feel like I’m living in a dream. It may sound silly but it almost feels too perfect. I keep thinking something just has to go wrong. Life can’t be this good for long.”

“Maybe not, but I like to think that we’ve experienced our fair share of ugly. Losing Mom and Dad like we did, was hard on all of us. I feel like I forced everyone to give up their dreams to stay in this cold small town in Montana and slave away in the diner. It’s not a glamorous life.”

I pulled my sister into a tight hug. “None of us feel that way. I know I certainly don’t. I love working with my sisters and always hearing the latest gossip. Speaking of, Mrs. Willowby stopped by this morning for coffee. You would think men covered in tattoos were wicked creatures. She would just die if she ever saw Devon without his shirt, yum, I tell ya. Anyways back to the gossip… It seems like a monster of a man covered in tattoos is buying that property next to ours that has been on the market forever.”

“You know driving in today, I did see a huge dark blue pickup in front of that house. If he’s as wicked as Mrs. Willowby thinks, why do you think he bought that property?”

“I don’t know, but I bet you’ll find out before any of us and I call dibs on being told first,” I exclaimed with a muttered, “Yes.”

“Oh heck, who called dibs first this time?” Myka asked as she was tying on her apron. “I never seem to be able to call dibs fast enough. Wait, Cassy called it? You don’t even live at home anymore. You’re with Devon.”

“Doesn’t matter, loser. I will always be a Johnson sister and I called it before you.” Blowing a raspberry in her direction and pulling away before she could smack me with her towel. I laughed as I ran behind Devon who just arrived. His scowl immediately froze Myka’s chase.

Checking to see if it was safe, I came around and stood up on my tippy toes. I still couldn’t reach his lips. With a huff, I grabbed the lapels of his coat and pulled him down to me. “Hi handsome,” I said against his lips before he kissed me.

“Hi. Since I’d dropped you off earlier today I wanted to pick you up so you didn’t attempt to walk all the way home. There is still plenty of ice out there. Besides, I want to show you something.”

I narrowed my eyes at him as I took off my apron and put on my coat. “Are you going to tell me what that something is?”

“Nope. I can’t ruin the surprise.” I sighed as I tried one last tactic to get him to tell me. “Not going to work, baby.”

“Fine.” With a slight pout, I called out, “See you later oh beautiful sisters of mine. I must go now because this man wants to take me somewhere. If I end up dead I’m haunting every single one of you and not sharing even one sip of my heavenly alcohol.”

“Bye Cassy the Dramatic,” Myka replied.

I rolled my eyes at her and replied, “I still got to call dibs before you. So, I win.”

Devon

I led Cassy to a small park that overlooked the perfect sunsetting view. “Oh, Devon this is beautiful!”

“This was where I originally planned to purpose but instead I get to look forward to our future together.” I captured her lips in a tender kiss that quickly turned passionate as she sighed in happiness and her mouth opened to grant me entrance. I pressed in closer and deepened the kiss, claiming her mouth. A streak of heat vibrated through my body as my hands came around her waist and pulled her tightly to my chest.

Cassy pulled back and wearing a wicked look said, “Devon I want you to love me as the sunsets.” I never could say no to her when she looked at me like that. Realizing the passenger’s side of my truck faced the sunset I carried her over to the truck and pulled the door open before I sat her down on the seat and just stared at her.

She leaned forward, wrapped her hand around my arm, and placed a kiss on my lips. “I love you,” she said against my lips, then grabbed the back of my neck and devoured my mouth.

She slid her hand down my chest until she reached my crotch and felt my hard cock under the fabric of my jeans. Smiling against my lips, she stroked me lightly, enjoying the strangled sound that left my mouth. Her fingers found the top button of my pants and, without breaking the kiss, she undid the button and pulled down the zipper.

The parking lot was empty. It was just us and the universe. She pulled out my cock as I grabbed her and slid her to me. She was wearing a long woolen skirt and to my surprise, nothing underneath.

I growled at this knowledge but before I could say anything she took hold of my cock and put it at her entrance. If someone told me only a month ago that I would be having sex in the middle of a parking lot, I would have deemed them crazy. That was the power this woman had over me and I happily followed her lead.

A moan escaped her mouth when my hard length thrust inside her. Filling her completely, I placed another kiss on her mouth before she grabbed at the side of the seat, and leaned back without removing her eyes from mine. Everything disappeared until there was only us and this moment.

Right then and there I knew forever would never be long enough for us. If the heavens above heard us, our souls would be linked to each other for an eternity. Anything less was unacceptable. “My angel, my love, my beautiful Cassy. I love you forever and always.”

“Forever and always, my Devon. Forever and always.”
