Chapter 28
Chapter Twenty Eight
Carly
Iswear to god if I didn’t have one of Nicholas’s credit cards on me, I would have had a full on meltdown.
I called him Sunday night to tell him that I was ready for the jet to come pick me up in Miami.
Can you believe that asshole said that the plane was in route on the west coast and I’d have to fly commercial? Commercial.
It was bad enough I had to fly down to Miami commercial, at least I was with my friends, though. Now having to do it a second time? And he didn’t even sound sorry.
I don’t know what is his deal. Ever since we had that fight in Seattle, he’s been so distant. We fight literally all the time. We break up a few times a year at least before he comes to his senses and comes crawling back. This time, though, things feel…off. I can’t explain it.
The kid behind me kicks my seat, again, and I’ve had e-fucking-nough. Hitting my call button, the stewardess comes over to me as I lean forward to speak with her. She greets me with a smile, her teeth smudged with her ninety nine cent lipstick as her coffee breath has me practically gagging.
“What can I help you with?” she asks.
“Yeah, you can help me by getting that little crotch goblin’s feet out of my back!” I snap.
The stewardesses eyes go wide as she glances behind me before looking back to me.
“Seriously, isn’t there like an age minimum for flying first class? We all pay a lot of money for some peace and quiet and I don’t need my flight ruined by some little shit.”
“I’m sorry, are you talking about my son?” A man leans forward from the row behind me.
I turn to him with a sneer but drop it quickly when I take a look at him. Obviously tall, well built, an Armani tailored suit and a watch on his wrist that easily costs a quarter of a million. My eyes flick down to his hand to see a golden band across his finger. Like that’s ever stopped me.
Jasper or Jack or whatever his name was had a ring on too.
We chatted at the cruise bar for approximately two minutes before he was chucking that thing into the ocean, though.
I don’t know why but married guys are always the best fucks.
Maybe it’s because they have something to prove.
Or maybe it’s because they have all of this pent up energy from their hag of a wife not giving it up. Either way, lucky me.
The cruise was a nice little distraction from reality.
Don’t get me wrong, I love Nico and all but when he’s being an ass, he doesn’t put out and I have needs just like anyone.
Especially with his little attitude he’s been having, I knew he wasn’t going to be up to taking care of me which is why I practically jumped at the opportunity to take a little cruise.
Suffice it to say, I’m coming home more than satisfied and ready to kiss the ground Nico walks on for a while until he softens up again.
That’s usually all it takes to make him realize he’s desperate for me.
I haven’t had a full on affair in over six months when Sean and his wife decided to give things a go again and he actually meant it. Gag. Usually, I just have a few one night stands when Nico is traveling or working late. Though, Mr. Armani looks like he could be my next contender.
“I’m sorry,” I say, giving him my best doe eyes. “I’m so exhausted. I don’t even know what I’m saying. I’ve just been having the hardest time since my husband cheated on me,” I overshare.
That card usually goes one or two ways. Men either turn away from it, fearful of the messiness and drama of getting involved with a taken woman, or they flock to it. They want the excitement, the rush, and the guarantee of an emotion free fuckfest.
As I guessed, Mr. Armani changes his attitude quickly, leaning forward further as he speaks to me.
“I’m so sorry to hear that. We all have hard times, I understand.”
“You do?” I ask with faux relief.
He gives me an understanding smile and I arch my back slightly, allowing my cleavage to spill forward. Predictably so, his eyes greedily take in the sight as I smile at him from beneath my eyelashes.
“You’re so sweet.”
“I’m Kevin,” he says with a grin that tells me I’ve snagged him.
“Carly,” I smile.
I’ll be honest, I didn’t know that airports had daycares for kids.
Or maybe they don’t and he just paid a stranger off to watch his kid.
Either way, it doesn’t matter. Kevin quickly dropped off his son into some play area and fucked me like he had one day to live in the airport bathroom.
Not the sexiest place I’ve done it but the rush was enough to have me coming all over his cock.
After we exchanged numbers and he paid for a town car to take me anywhere I wanted to go, I pull up to my apartment complex. The driver grabs out all of my bags and the bellman is quick to grab a cart.
“Welcome back, Miss. Fischer,” he says.
I wave him off as I saunter through the main lobby and move to the elevator, pressing the penthouse button followed by a scan of my keycard. I’m whirred up to the top before stepping out of the elevator and into our apartment.
“Hellllllo? I’m back,” I call out, finding the place strangely empty.
Glancing down at my phone I look at the time. Nicholas should be home from work by now, it’s a Monday. Shrugging my shoulders, I drop my purse onto the counter as I make my way into the bedroom. I need a shower and a fucking drink.
I begin getting undressed when I notice Nicholas’s side drawer is cracked open. Curiosity has me moving towards it as I peek inside. There, I find a blue Tiffany box, a rush of excitement filling me as I open it.
A gorgeous circle pendant diamond necklace is laid against the fabric, shimmering even in the dark bedroom. Wow, I guess he’s not as mad at me as I thought. I was convinced he was going to break up with me, again, before I left for my cruise. What can I say, clearly he can’t get enough of me.
Honestly, I can’t imagine ever not being with Nicholas. We’ve been through so much together. He’s my forever end game, or at least until he gets too old or dies or something. The fact is, no man has ever tried to love me the way Nicholas has, besides my dad but like obviously he doesn’t count.
He’s rich, handsome, and can eat pussy better than any man I’ve found to this date.
He’s a keeper, if he would just pull that stick out of his ass from time to time.
I’m glad that he understands just as much as I do that we’re meant to be.
We can fight and bicker all we want but in the end, it will always be us. I’ll make sure of it.
Running my fingers across the necklace, I’m tempted to put it on now and surprise him. I think I’ll let him give it to me, though. Preserve his male ego and all that. It really is a beautiful piece. God. I so deserve this.
