Chapter 16

CHAPTER SIXTEEN

There was a big brown package sitting on my bed when I got home from work, and I looked at it with a curious expression.

Who was sending me a package? It wasn’t my birthday, and I hadn’t ordered anything online in ages.

I walked over to it eagerly, excited to see what was inside.

I smiled to myself at my excitement. It was the first time in over two weeks I’d had anything to feel excited about.

Alice and I hadn’t gone back to my parents’ house after the bar, and no one had called or tried to find out what had happened.

I was sad that my family didn’t even bother to find out why we’d left, but I was even more hurt that Xander hadn’t called me or come over.

I’d hoped that he’d show up that evening, but he hadn’t.

I didn’t even know if he knew that there was no baby. I was confident Gabby wouldn’t tell him. She had no morals and no conscience. She wouldn’t care.

I sat on the bed and opened the package quickly, ripping it open to see what was inside. I opened the box and stared at the contents with a frown. There was a tongue sitting there.

I picked it up and then saw the note. It was from Xander, and it read, Please call me soon. I want to talk to you.

I threw the note and the tongue on the bed and hurried out of the room. Did he think that was funny?

I walked to the kitchen to get some water and tried to calm my rapidly beating heart.

“Hey, I didn’t hear you come in,” Alice said with a small smile as she walked into the kitchen.

“Yeah, just got in,” I said and took another sip of water. “I saw the package. Thanks for putting it in my room.”

“No worries.” She nodded. “Anything good?”

“No.” I shook my head and then frowned as my phone rang. “It’s Aiden.” I rolled my eyes at her and answered the phone. “Hello?”

“Liv, it’s Aiden,” he said stiffly.

“I know. What do you want?”

“Are you coming home this weekend?”

“Nope.”

“I think you should come,” he said again, softer this time. “Gabby needs your support.”

“Why?” I said shortly.

“Xander broke off the engagement.”

“Really?” I said, surprised, though I didn’t want to admit it. I also didn’t want to admit how happy that made me. “Why?”

“I guess it wasn’t a real engagement.” He sighed. “I think she was up to her old tricks or something.”

“Oh?”

“Yeah, she’s not really pregnant. She lied and said she was having this baby and really needed support.”

“Oh? Wow.” I faked being shocked.

“Yeah, turns out, he asked her if they could break it off that first weekend.” Aiden continued talking. “He thought he’d made a mistake or something, but she told him Mom and Dad would disown her if she wasn’t engaged. And that she’d move to France or something and take the baby with her.”

“Oh, wow.” I shook my head. “That’s crazy.”

“Yeah, so, anyway, we’re all getting together this weekend to make her feel better.”

“I’m not coming. Sorry.”

“You should come, Liv. You and Alice.”

“Alice and I are not coming,” I said loudly, and I saw Alice staring at me. I knew she was wondering what we were talking about.

“Please, Liv.”

“If you want to see Alice, just pick up the phone and ask her out or something.”

“Liv,” he groaned, “I don’t want to date Alice.”

“Uh-huh. So, why do you want to see her this weekend?”

“Liv, it’s complicated.”

“Aiden, grow up. I know you like Alice, so just ask her out!” I shouted into the phone, and I saw Alice shaking her head at me.

“Liv, I saw Alice and Scott kissing,” Aiden said softly. “There is nothing between Alice and me. She already made her choice.”

“You what?” My jaw dropped. “You saw what?”

“That night we were at the club—I waited up to apologize to Alice, and as I walked to your room to say sorry, I saw her with Scott, and they were kissing.”

“Oh.” My voice was a squeak, and I could tell from the look on Alice’s face as she stood there that it was true. “I didn’t know.”

“Yeah, well, it is what it is.”

“I’m sorry, Aiden,” I said softly.

“It’s fine.” He sighed. “Maybe we can go and grab lunch soon.”

“What? You and me?”

“Yes, you and me.” He laughed. “I think we’re old enough to be friends now, don’t you think?”

“Yes, I’d like that,” I said with a smile. “I’d like that a lot.”

“Oh, and, Liv?”

“Yes, Aiden?”

“Go easy on Xander,” he said softly. “He’s a good guy.”

“What are you talking about?” I asked softly, my heart racing and my face red.

“You know.” He laughed. “I’ll see you soon,” he said and hung up.

I put my phone in my pocket and looked at Alice in silence, unsure of what to say.

“You kissed Scott?” I said finally, and she sighed.

“No—yes—not really.” She burst into tears.

“He walked me to my room that night, and he leaned in to give me a kiss outside the door. And I said, What would one kiss hurt? You’d always told me to go for him.

So, I leaned forward, and he kissed me, but as soon as our lips touched, I knew I didn’t like him like that, but it was too late.

As we kissed, I saw Aiden in the corridor, glaring at us, and I just didn’t know what to do.

” She sobbed. “Oh, Liv, what am I going to do?”

“Oh, Alice,” I groaned. “I’ve really fucked this all up.” I feel like my head is going to explode. I just don’t know what to do.

“I don’t know what to do,” she cried. “I really like Aiden, and now he hates me.”

“He doesn’t hate you.” I sighed. “I’ll come up with a plan. We’ll figure something out.”

“Thanks, Liv.” She rubbed her eyes. “I’m going to go and lie down now.”

“Okay.” I nodded and watched her leave the room.

I stood there for a few seconds and then pulled my phone out and made a call.

“Hello?” His voice was a sexy drawl, and I felt my heart jump at the sound.

“It’s Liv.”

“I know.” He laughed. “I take it, you got my gift?”

“Yes”—I shook my head as I walked to my bedroom—“I did.”

“What do you think?”

“I think it’s perverted. Who sends someone a plastic tongue?” I laughed.

“Me,” he said softly. “Have you used it yet?”

“Used it? What are you talking about?”

“Oh, you don’t know what it is yet?”

“No. What is it?”

“Take it out of the box and look at it carefully.”

“Okay.” I grabbed the box and pulled the tongue out. I looked at it carefully and noticed a small switch I hadn’t seen before. I turned it on, and the tongue started vibrating back and forth. “Oh my God, is this a vibrator?”

“Yes.” He laughed.

“Xander!” I shouted at him. “How could you?”

“How could I what?” He laughed. “I figured if you couldn’t have my miracle tongue, you could have the next best thing.”

“Wow, how nice of you.” I laughed and lay back on the bed.

“I aim to please,” he said with a chuckle. “I’m glad you called, Liv.”

“I heard about you and Gabby,” I said softly.

“Yes, the engagement is over.”

“I’m sorry about everything. I’m sorry she lied about being pregnant.”

“I ended it before I knew she was lying, Liv,” he said softly. “I ended it the weekend you showed up with Brock and Jock.”

“What? That was two weeks ago,” I said, hurt he hadn’t called me.

“I was mad at you, Liv. I wanted to talk to you that weekend, but you went out with Alice, and you never came back.”

“I was too hurt and jealous.”

“I understand why you were upset with me. I acted like an idiot.” He sighed. “I shouldn’t have expected you to be okay with me and Gabby being married, even if it was a fake engagement.”

“It was crazy, but I could have been more understanding.”

“We were both a bit crazy.” He sighed. “But maybe me more than anyone. I’m not even sure what I was thinking. All I can say is that the first weekend with you gave me some sort of brain damage.”

“Oh, Xander.” I giggled.

“So, are you going to test out the tongue?” he asked softly.

“What?” I said, feeling a bit turned on.

“I want you to try the tongue and tell me if you prefer the real thing or not.”

“Xander”—I blushed—“I’m not going to do that.”

“Or maybe I can help you out and see for myself.”

“See for yourself?”

“I can see if you scream louder with your present or with my miracle tongue.”

“Hmm, I’ll think about it.”

“Make up your mind quickly.” He laughed, and then I heard the doorbell ring. “I’m here.”

“You’re here? At my home?”

“Yes. Now come and get me.”

“Hold on.” I ran out of the room and to the front door, and there he was. “Xander, you’re here.”

“Yes, it’s me, in the flesh.”

“I don’t know what to say.” I blushed, and he grabbed me and pulled me forward to kiss me.

“Say you want me to come in and visit your bedroom.” He winked at me as he turned his phone off.

“Come in,” I said weakly.

We walked to my bedroom quickly. Xander closed and locked the door behind him and then pulled me in for another kiss.

“I’ve missed the taste of you,” he said softly. “I’ve missed you.”

“You didn’t call,” I said as I kissed him back.

“I wanted to give you time to miss me as well.” He laughed. “Now, let’s see that tongue.”

“You want me to use it now?”

“Oh, yes.” He laughed as he massaged my breasts. “I very much want you to use it now.”

“Hmm, I’ll think about it.” I pulled his shirt up and touched his stomach, letting my fingers slip into his pants to touch his manhood.

“Oh, Liv,” he groaned and grabbed my hand. “Don’t start something you can’t finish.”

“Oh, I can finish.” I grinned at him and licked my lips.

“I want you to come with me to a wedding this weekend,” he said against my head as his hands slipped up my shirt.

“I’m not going to go just so you can have some more church sex.”

I giggled and lifted my arms up so he could pull my top off. He unclasped my bra and sucked on my breasts with vigor.

“Oh, Xander,” I groaned as his hand reached down and undid the button on my pants.

“That’s not why I want you to come with me,” he muttered as he pulled my pants down.

“Uh-huh,” I said and watched as he pulled his shirt off.

“I want you to come as my date.” He looked up at me with a smile as he pulled his pants down. “I want it to be our first official date.”

“Hmm, really?” I gasped as he grabbed me and carried me over to the bed.

“I’m sure.” He kissed my neck as his fingers slid down between my legs and rubbed me gently.

“Oh, Xander,” I groaned as he kissed down my stomach and then stopped right at my belly button.

“Yes, dear?” He grinned up at me.

“I’ve missed you,” I said softly and ran my hands through his hair.

“I’ve missed you too.” He kissed back up my stomach and stared into my eyes. “I nearly let my fear ruin the best thing that’s ever happened to me.”

“Oh?” I said softly as I gazed back at him. “What’s the best thing that’s ever happened to you? Hooking up at a wedding? Having a one-night stand with me?”

“What we had was not a one-night stand.” He kissed my lips softly.

“What we had was so much more. And I’m not just saying that.

I’m not inviting you to the wedding so we can have hot sex in a side room.

I’m inviting you because I want to have you by my side at a special occasion.

I want to show my friends and my family that I have a girlfriend and I’m proud to introduce her to everyone I know and love. ”

“Oh, Xander.” I kissed him hard, my heart melting.

“And, Liv, I want to make this vow to you.” He grinned at me.

“What’s that?” I asked, my heart beating fast.

“I vow that the next wedding we have sex at will be ours,” he said with a deep voice, full of emotion, as he gazed at me with love in his eyes.

“Oh, Xander.” I stared at him searchingly, not daring to believe what I was hearing.

“I love you, Liv.” He kissed my lips and my nose and my cheeks.

“I’ve loved you since the moment I saw you.

You’re the wind to my sails. You’re everything to me.

I never ever expected to feel this way. I’ve never wanted to wake up with someone before.

It took me aback, but now I know how lucky I am.

I love you, Liv, and I know I love you with all my heart.

I know you’re the only one I want to spend the rest of my life with.

I know you’re it for me. So, know that I mean that vow with all my heart.

I see us getting married, Liv. No one could ever love you more than I do because I love you with everything inside of my being.

We don’t know each other that well yet, but we have the rest of our lives to get to know each other.

” He kissed me again softly and stroked my face.

“Will you let me be your Mr. Miracle Tongue forever, Liv?”

“Oh, yes, Xander.” I nodded. “I love you too.”

“Good,” he said smugly. “And now it’s time to conduct the test.” He grinned. “I want you to close your eyes so you can’t see if it’s my tongue or the toy, and then I want you to tell me which one you think is best.”

“Oh, Xander.”

I giggled and was about to say something else, but the sight of him wiggling his tongue at me shut me up. I mean, who was I to say no to the contest? I needed to concentrate hard and prepare myself for the orgasms to come. It was a hard job, but someone had to do it.
