Chapter 3 – Victoria

Victoria

An alarm starts to ring, and I open my eyes.

Soft light is trying to come in from the closed curtains, and I close my eyes again before I open them when I feel the bed beside me move.

I can’t help the smile that fills my face when I feel the covers being pulled away from me.

“It must be yours.” I hear Zane’s thick voice and hold the cover to my chest as I sit up in bed.

My hair feels like it’s sticking up from all sides.

“Do you want me to get it for you?” he asks, and I look over at him.

His side is to me as he looks over his shoulder and his hair that was perfectly combed last night when I met him at the bar now looks like I spent the night pulling at it.

And I did. The last time was in the small fucking shower and tub he placed me in, with my back to the wall.

He put one of my feet on the rim of the bathtub and then got on his knees and feasted on me.

I swear, I think I saw stars. Then he got up while I was coming down from my orgasm and literally picked me up around my waist and plunked me down on the counter as he sheathed himself in a condom, then planted himself in me.

“Yeah,” I reply, clearing my throat.

“You want me to get it for you so you can check out my ass,” he accuses, tossing the covers off himself and standing up.

My eyes travel from his thick legs to his half-mast cock that manages to be bigger than anyone else I’ve ever been with.

His chest is perfectly sculpted. If I’m going to guess, I’m going to say he’s a personal trainer because there is no way someone who doesn’t work in the gym looks like him.

I mean, I guess he could have another job, but I’m going with personal trainer, or maybe gym owner.

“You’re staring,” he says, and I let my eyes roam to his face.

The beard is a bit overgrown but neat, and his green eyes look almost brown without the light on him.

My heart starts to speed up as I take him in.

My mouth starts to water and certain parts of me start to melt.

He has to be the sexiest man I’ve ever laid eyes on in my twenty-five years of life.

“I am staring,” I retort. “It’s all out there for me to look at.

” I motion with my hand. “If you don’t want me to stare, perhaps you should cover it.

” I hold out my hand, my palm facing him and blocking the second-best thing on his body.

My eyes go to the tattoo on one side of his chest. An abstract blend of shapes and lines flow over his pec and shoulder, that if I cared enough I would have asked him about, but I had other more important things to ask him about, like him having protection.

He turns to walk out of the room, and I think about the conversation that threw cold water on us for at least twenty minutes.

I was pushed up against the door to his room when his mouth left mine and the only thing I wanted was to be fucked against the door; something I’ve never done before but I’ve always wanted to do, and he seemed like the perfect person to do it with. “You have protection, right?”

“No.” He stopped kissing me right away.

“What do you mean no?” I stared into his eyes, my hand going from his shoulder to his hair. “How do you not have any protection?”

“Do you?”

“No!” I shrieked. “I will next time.”

He let me go and walked over to the phone by the bed. As I watched him, he picked up the phone. “Yeah, do you guys have condoms?” I gasped.

“How about, ‘Good evening, how are you doing?’” I whispered and he just looked back at me.

“Okay, I’ll dash it, thanks.” He put the phone down and took his cell phone out of his pocket.

“Do you want to dash it or do I?” He looked over at me.

“I’m not going to dash condoms.” I put a hand to my chest. “That stays in your history. When you pull up the store again, it’ll say ordered this before.”

“Fine,” he said, uncaring about this being in his history. “I’ll order.” Totally unfazed that this will be in his history. “You need anything else?” he asked as if he was ordering me a burger.

“I think condoms is all,” I replied and then tilted my head to the side. “Might have to get some lube, you feel really big.” He smirked at me.

“I’ll get you warmed up.” He winked at me and then tossed the phone to the side. “I’ve got twenty minutes to get you ready.”

I tilted my head to the side. “Well then, get to work.”

It was the first time I was so open about sex and not shy about anything. It was very refreshing. Knowing I wouldn’t see him after the night made me freer than I normally would be.

He walks back into the bedroom and tosses the purse onto the bed at the same time his phone rings.

“Time to rise and shine, Zane.” I open my purse and take out my phone, turning off the alarm.

“Present me is happy that past me set an alarm, or else I’d be missing my flight.

” I toss the sheets to the side and get up.

“Um, is it okay if I use the bathroom before I leave?” I ask him awkwardly and he nods his head.

“Do you think you can turn around and not watch?” I ask him.

“No.” His snarky answer makes me snort. “Victoria,” he says my name and my whole body shivers. “I could lie to you and say sure and turn around, then I would turn back and watch you and that ass walking to the bathroom.” His eyes bore down on me. “But I’m not a liar, never was… never will be.”

“Fair enough.” I snatch up my panties and jeans from the floor.

“Stare away,” I invite, grabbing my shirt and then my bra, holding them to my chest. “It’s the best sight you’ll ever see in your life, so I might as well give it to you.

” He laughs. “That is not the right answer, Zane,” I snap at him.

When I walk past him, he reaches out for me and pulls me to him.

“What’s the right answer, Victoria?” His eyes are light green now. “Tell me and I’ll say it.”

“No,” I retort, “then what good will it be?” I roll my eyes at him as his hand cups my ass.

“You are the best sight I’ve ever seen in my life,” he compliments, bending and kissing my lips. “Better?”

“I mean, it’s after the fact,” I say and he lets me go, “but it’ll do.”

I walk away from him and when I look over my shoulder, I see him staring at me. “Now that,” I point to him, “is the answer; you drooling as I walk by.” I close the door as he barks out a laugh. “I’m taking a shower,” I tell the closed door and turn the shower on.

I quickly shower and get dressed, pulling my hair on the top of my head in a messy bun.

I wish I’d had a chance to grab my purse so I could put on some lip gloss or something.

Walking out of the room, I see him sitting on the side of the bed, wearing his black boxers, his phone in his hand.

“I tried to order you coffee, but they said the wait was an hour.” He looks up from his phone at me.

“That’s okay. I have to head out anyway.”

“He also asked me if I got the condoms I needed.” I gawk at him and my eyes literally feel like they are going to come out of my sockets. “I’m kidding.”

“That is not funny.” I point to him, grabbing my purse from the bed and then the sweater. “I have enough time to get to my room and then change before I have to meet my car downstairs.”

He nods as he gets up. “What are you doing?” I ask him as he takes a step closer to me.

“Walking you out,” he explains. “It’s called being a gentleman.”

“Well, I’ve seen what you can do with your fingers, your mouth, and that thing,” I point to his covered cock and he just shakes his head and smirks, “and you are no gentleman. I don’t think you should come to the door,” I tell him, stopping in the living room.

“What if someone sees me leaving and then sees you? It’s like news flash; I just had sex. ”

“Or you could be going to work,” he offers and I just look at him.

“That is not what anyone is going to think. If the housekeeper is out there, she’s going to see the wrappers in the garbage, and the wet stain on the bed, along with all the wet towels, and she’s going to know we did so many nasty things that this room should be decontaminated.

” I look around the room. “We should have thought about that last night when you got me naked on that couch.” I point to the couch, putting my hand to my stomach.

“How many asses do you think have been on that couch?”

“Only yours,” he tells me, and I roll my eyes. “Was that not a good answer?”

“Okay, you stay here.” I hold up my hand to him. “I’m going to go and, well, you watch me leave,” I tell him. He comes to me, puts his hand on my hip, and grips it, pulling me to him. “We literally don’t have time for this.”

“You’ll be fine,” he assures me, as if he knows what time my flight is. “You don’t have to change.”

“These clothes are twenty-four-hour-old clothes. I’ve been to the airport with them.

” I start to say more when he bends his head and his mouth stops me from talking.

I let my purse and sweater fall to the floor.

I put my hands on his chest as I close my eyes and take in the kiss.

His tongue plays with mine and his hand grips my hip tighter, pulling me flush to him.

He lets me go after a minute. “Thank you for last night.” I look up at him and he just smirks at me.

“No,” he says, his hand coming up to play with the hairs that fell out of the bun by the side of my face, “thank you for last night.”

“Pretty sure you did most of the work.” He laughs and I get on my tippy-toes and even that doesn’t get me close to his lips, but he gets what I’m going for and kisses me again.

I look into his eyes before glancing back to his chest. I make a mental note of his tattoo, my finger moving to trace a couple of lines.

“Thank you for the most memorable”—I hold up my finger—“first-time one-night stand.” He throws his head back and laughs and I have to wonder how many of these he’s had.

Don’t do that, I immediately tell myself, don’t go there.

“You are at the top of the leaderboard,” I quickly say something to make him laugh and then his laughter stops abruptly when the phone rings from my purse. “That’s my ride,” I tell him.

“Thank you,” he says to me, “for—” He doesn’t say the words and I smirk.

“For that thing I did with my mouth.” I wink at him, and he smiles, the creases around his eyes showing me it’s a true smile.

“You’re welcome, Zane.” I turn and then walk to the door.

I look over my shoulder as I pull open the door and find him watching me.

“I hope your house doesn’t have termites.

” I roll my lips as the phone stops ringing, and I give him one last smile before I walk out of the room.

My heart speeds up in my chest and my stomach feels like I’m going to be sick as I exhale and walk to the elevator.

I press the button, looking back at the empty hallway as my phone rings again.

I fish it out of my purse, seeing that it’s not my driver but Ariella.

“Hey,” I answer, watching the empty hallway the whole time, “what’s up? ”

“Just checking in on you. What time is your flight?” she asks me as the elevator gets here, and I inhale before getting into the elevator and pressing the number of my floor.

“I’m heading out now,” I reply as the elevator door stops and I push away the feeling that I’m sad he didn’t come running after me. “Hey, question. After you had a one-night stand with my brother, did you feel sad he didn’t chase after you when you left the room?”

“Oh my God,” she squeaks and then her voice goes low, “you had a one-night stand?”

“Yup,” I confirm, pulling the key card out of my purse and opening my door, seeing the bags I dumped at the door when I got in and rushed down to the bar to get something to eat.

“With who?”

“No clue, met him at the bar last night. Drank a glass of wine, flirted with him, and he didn’t flirt back. Which was annoying. He paid for my meal and when we went into the elevator, I said, ‘Is this when you ask me to go back to your room?’”

“What?”

“I know, I was as shocked as anyone,” I say. “He said yes and, well, the rest is history.” I grab my bags and head to the bed. “Anyway, I have to change before I leave to go to the airport,” I tell her.

“Was he good?”

“Oh yeah, my vagina is well-used.” I laugh as I pull off my sweater. “I have to run. I need to rush. I’ll call you later.”

“You better,” she snaps. “I want all the details.”

“No.” I shake my head. “Those are mine,” I tell her. “It’s one night and it’s all mine.”
