T he sound of waves meeting the shore had me peeling my eyes open. The villa we were at was open, with windows everywhere, so our room was bright as hell. But I felt at peace because I could see the ocean and Makari was next to me with her arms and legs draped over my body.
The past week had been crazy as hell with all the press from what went down with my father but eventually things calmed down.
Vanessa prepared and released a statement about what happened that night with O’Rion and flipped the story so everyone left me the hell alone.
They did the one thing I damn sure didn’t want, hit me with all the sympathy posts, but at least that kept them from running with the story about my father.
There were also people who tried to push the “he has money, we can’t believe what they’re saying” narrative. They really wanted me to be guilty of something but those assholes were in the minority.
Regardless, I pushed all of that out of my head and focused on what mattered.
Makari, Avi, and my upcoming season. Needless to say, with everything going on in my life, Makari and I needed this break.
My father agreed to stay in rehab for the six-month program that Vanessa arranged but that was mostly because I threatened to cut him off if he refused.
He was also required to release a statement about his alcohol addiction, noting the grief and anger he was experiencing after losing a son which caused him to blame me.
His well-crafted statement, written by Vanessa, summed up his regrettable false accusations that harmed his only living son and made him realize it was time to deal with his trauma.
Rehab wasn’t going to do shit for him. We had been through this too many times before but at least it stopped people from talking about the circulating videos. Training camp started Monday after we got back. For now, I planned on spending my time here enjoying my girls.
I kissed Makari on the shoulder then brushed her hair from her face. She had some long ass braids I took full advantage of while I was fucking her from behind.
“It’s creepy for you to watch me while I’m asleep.”
I chuckled and kissed her shoulder again. “If you were really sleep, then you might have a case.”
She smiled and lifted her head, squinting when the brightness of the room attacked her. “What time is it?”
“Seven.”
She groaned and buried her face in the pillow while she inched closer to me. “I’m going back to sleep.”
“We have to be on the yacht by ten.”
“Okay, still going back to sleep.”
I kissed her forehead then threw the covers off of us. “Nah, if I’m up, you’re up.”
I felt her hand on my dick and she smiled. “Oh you’re definitely up.”
My dick was bricked but that was the norm when I woke up with her next to me. “You better move your hand or that yacht is leaving without us.”
She groaned again and I eased out of bed and headed to the bathroom to get ready for the day.
By the time I was done, Makari was dragging out of bed.
While she headed to the bathroom, I pulled on a t-shirt and shorts and made my way to the kitchen.
Janice sat at the table with Avi, feeding her fresh fruit.
“Good morning, Mr. Hayes.”
“Good morning. How long have y’all been up?”
“About an hour.”
I kissed Avi on the head and she clapped her sticky hands then grabbed a piece of mango and shoved it in her mouth before she reached for me.
I lifted her from the chair and kissed her sticky face. “What’s up, pretty girl?”
“I’m going to have to hit you with a bonus. She’s usually not up that early.”
Janice grinned. “It’s fine. I’m enjoying my time here. This beautiful villa and the beach are my bonus. We walked on the beach for a bit then came in for breakfast.”
“We appreciate you letting us sleep in. You coming with us on the yacht today?”
“No, I think Avi and I are going to hang out here. I plan on having lunch on the beach and we’ll do some exploring.”
“Aight, that works. But if you change your mind, we don’t leave until ten.”
I lifted the last chunks of watermelon, popped one in my mouth and fed Avi the other. She grinned and smacked her little lips but I felt her approval because it was sweet as hell.
“Let me take her so you can get some breakfast. I’m going to get her cleaned up.”
I kissed Avi’s cheeks several times and handed her over to Janice who left the kitchen talking to Avi about their day.
I poured myself orange juice then checked out the spread the private chef left for us this morning.
We gave specifics on what menus we wanted and let them create whatever as long as it fell in line with our requests.
Today we had fresh fruit, egg white omelets, yogurt, and granola.
There were also stacks of Belgian waffles, sausage, and bacon.
While I piled food on my plate, Ryland walked in with some chick named Sierra, a flight attendant he met a few weeks ago.
I wasn’t really fucking with having an outsider there but he promised to keep her under control and make sure she wasn’t posting shit about any of us.
The point of the weekend was to be relaxed and disconnected.
I didn’t want to have to worry about someone stealing pictures and videos of us and posting that shit, but so far she had been cool.
“What’s good, fam?” Ryland reached beside me and grabbed a plate. I loaded more fruit on mine then headed to the table.
“Ain’t shit. Y’all heading out with us today?”
“Yeah, we’re going.”
Sierra grunted and went straight for the coffee. “We’re on vacation. We shouldn’t be up this early.”
I chuckled because she was not feeling this at all.
“You can go back to sleep but don’t say shit when we’re on the water and you’re stuck here.” Ryland placed a plate full of waffles and sausage on the table next to me and sat down. She shot him an evil glare which he didn’t see because he was already shoveling food in his mouth.
“Where’s Dedric?”
“Still sleep, I think. I passed their room on the way down and it was quiet as hell.”
“They’re up. I just saw Shiya,” Makari said when she entered the kitchen wearing a white, see-through coverup over a white bikini and some little ass jean shorts. She sat in my lap and started eating from my plate. I gripped her thigh to adjust her.
“You see all that food over there, right?”
She grinned and lifted my juice. “It tastes better off your plate and in your glass.”
“Nah, your ass is just too lazy to fix your own.”
She shrugged and lifted my sausage, took a bite, then frowned, dropping it back to my plate.
“You good?”
“Yeah, it’s just greasy, I think.”
I looked her over while she picked over my food and settled on slices of pineapple. She had been picky as hell with her food lately, and the more I thought about it, she hadn’t been drinking since we had been here. We also had been fucking nonstop and hadn’t been using protection.
“You sure you’re good?”
“Yes, I’m fine.”
“Morning, family. We ready to set sail?” Shiya sang, sounding too damn happy for it to be so early. I turned to find Dedric behind her. They were both already dressed for the boat. Shiya was in something similar to Makari, a white cover up, jean shorts, and a white bikini.
“Zee, I hate you’re not here. We could have been triplets. Look at Kari.” She turned her phone and I glanced at the screen, noticing Zina on a video call.
“I really hate y’all right now.”
I chuckled because she sounded salty. “It’s your fault you’re not here,” Ryland said, shoving bacon in his mouth.
“No, it’s Moses’s fault. I’m still trying to figure out how he got a cold that lasted for two days and I’ve been down for a week. I feel like shit and he’s fine. Summer colds are death.”
“Your ass doesn’t listen. I told you to stay away from me but you always gotta be up my ass. Now we’re sitting at home for a trip that we planned.” Moses moved into the camera and kissed her cheek before he disappeared.
“He has a point,” I said and she shot me a bird.
“Y’all all go to hell and I hope the yacht sinks.”
“Wait, how are you trying to make us all drown because you’re sick?” Makari asked and smiled.
“Because I’m mad I’m not there, but wait, is Avi going with y’all? If so then I don’t want the yacht to sink. Just for y’all to fall overboard or something. She’s an innocent bystander.”
I laughed. “So you want her to be an orphan? You still ain’t shit.”
“She deserves more thoughtful and caring parents. I’ll raise her well.”
“Bruh, fuck you, and don’t put that negative energy on us.” Ryland laughed.
“Fine, I love y’all, have fun without me, while I’m at home miserable and missing y’all.”
“Aww, we’ll do it again,” Shiya said.
“When? The season starts soon.” Zina sounded like a little ass kid pouting.
“We’ll figure it out,” Makari said.
“Okay boo, let me get my food. I’ll call you later,” Shiya told her and Zina sighed.
“Please don’t. I’ll just pretend you’re having a terrible time.”
“Bye hoe, love you.”
“Bye, Zee.” Makari blew her a kiss. Shiya ended the call and fixed plates for her and Dedric who was already at the table.
She spoke to Sierra who mumbled good morning then lifted to refill her coffee.
We chilled at the table eating, leaving one by one to pack up for the day.
It had been a while since I was able to chill without worrying about all the other chaos in my life, so I planned on taking full advantage.
“Welcome to Blue’s Beauty. We’re honored to have you as our guest today, Mr. Hayes. My crew has everything set up for you guys. If you need anything at all, please don’t hesitate to ask.”
“’Preciate that.”
We all made our way on the boat, checking things out. Before we could get settled, Makari, Sierra ,and Shiya were heading to the upper deck and stripping out their clothes, talking about how perfect the lighting was.
“You know how that is about to go.” Dedric shook his head, staring at his wife.
