Epilogue

Caleb

One year later…

“Mr. Marshal.”

I jumped as the folder landed on my desk.

“What can I help you with?” I grinned as I blinked up at the blonde goddess who leaned over my workspace.

When we’d first decided to give this threesome a go, we’d all worried about Katia and her new job. Dom had been fired for being married to me, and it wasn’t fair to ask Katia to give up her job. No one should ever be placed in that position.

As it turned out, Katia was already prepared for Tiff.

She wasn’t afraid to march into that woman’s office and declare that she was in a relationship with not one, but two men, and those men were me and my husband.

The moment our boss tried to retaliate, Katia dropped the bombshell about discrimination and the lawsuit that would chase Tiff for the rest of her life if she tried to do anything to her.

I loved a woman who had balls.

Tiff had resigned from her position, so Katia received a promotion.

Apparently it was only Tiff that had an issue with workplace romances, the company had no problem with me working for my girlfriend.

The dynamic was unusual, but our relationship didn’t interfere with our ability to perform the functions of our jobs.

The best days were when Dom would come to the office to join us for lunch, and we’d sometimes sneak in a quickie when we could find a discreet enough space.

Katia trailed a long French-tipped fingernail over the front of the manila folder she dropped on my desk.

“I don’t know. It’s come to my attention that today is a special day, and I’ve been left out of any plans that were made,” she said, stepping back to watch me and wait for a response.

My smile only grew because today marked one full year since the day that I proposed that this amazing woman enter our lives.

There would be no bringing home a special present for Dominic this year.

That was a thing of the past now that we had the most perfect of gifts with us every day.

It had been ideal that this year we would celebrate our girl instead.

If you’d told me before I met Katia Petrov that I’d be in this position, I would have scoffed at the idea of ever crawling into bed with a woman.

Now, I couldn’t imagine life without her.

Dom and I had always been happy, but there was something about this smart spark of a woman that completed us. She made us whole.

Katia was the bread to our peanut butter and jelly. The sun to our moon and stars. It may have sounded corny, but the three of us had been inseparable since that first night.

The laugh that tumbled past my lips made Katia frown.

Her little button nose wrinkled up as I stood from my seat to wrap an arm around her waist to pull her in close.

Those dainty hands rested against my chest, and I didn’t care that anyone in the office could see us.

It still made me laugh that Adam had just about pissed himself when he found out that I was involved with things as well.

“Maybe, sweet girl, it’s because we wanted it to be a surprise.”

She pursed her lips before rolling her eyes. When she tried to push out of my hold, I let out another chuckle and placed a quick kiss on her lips, and it was enough to have her relaxing against me.

“That’s not fair. You know I’m weak for you,” she sighed, her fingers starting to fidget with the buttons of my shirt.

“I like you weak for me.” That brought a smile to her face as we pulled apart. I grabbed my jacket from the hook on the side of my cubicle and draped it over Katia’s shoulders. “Now, come along, princess. Our Prince Charming is waiting for us.”

Her eyebrows lifted as I escorted her to the elevator. My nerves prickled the entire ride to the ground floor. All I wanted was to make both my partners happy, and it was new to treat Katia in this way. It was Dom’s birthday, and we were celebrating her instead.

It was worth it to hear the gasp tumble from her lips when she spotted the man in question standing on the sidewalk in a suit next to an open limousine door. He held a hand out to her, and Katia grinned widely as she took it and tucked herself into the backseat of the vehicle.

My husband pulled me close, giving me a quick kiss before ushering me to scoot in next to our girl.

The inside was spacious with pale leather seats that had lights illuminating the bottoms. There was a small table in the center that held a bucket of ice and a bottle of champagne.

This was a little over the top, but I’d always wanted to do something extravagant like this.

Dominic pulled three long-stemmed glasses from the storage cabinet beneath the bucket as I reached for the bottle.

The second the cork popped free, and we’d all laughed from the initial scare, I poured drinks and passed around glasses.

I held mine in the air, smiling at the two people who sat with me.

“To Katia: you waltzed your perfect little ass into our lives a year ago, and we couldn’t imagine living a day without you now.”

She glowed at my praise before looking at Dom.

“It doesn’t feel right to celebrate me today.

It’s your day,” she cooed as she ran a hand down his chest, inspecting the material of his suit.

The material was a lot dressier than something he would normally wear to work and was something special he’d picked out just for this occasion.

The navy color was a beautiful contrast against his mocha skin tone.

Dominic grabbed her hand, pulling it to his mouth and placing a kiss on the back of her fingers. “Little doll, you deserve to be celebrated as well. A year with you is more than enough cause to celebrate.”

We raised our glasses again, both Dom and I cheering to Katia before taking a long sip. By the time I lowered my drink, I noticed that Katia’s dainty fingers were still clasped around her full cup.

“Sweet girl, drink up,” I prodded, motioning to her glass, taking another sip of my own champagne.

A blush stained her cheeks as she looked out the window.

I handed my glass off to Dom before I could form another full thought. “Is there something wrong?”

Katia’s blush deepened. “No, my sweet, sweet man.” A lone tear made its way down her cheek, and I raced to wipe it away with my thumb. This didn’t look like nothing was wrong.

“You can tell us anything; you know that, right?” Dom added from behind me, catching on that something was happening, sliding to sit next to her.

She sighed, grabbing my hands. “You two are so stubborn. I didn’t want to do this today because it’s Dominic’s day, but you’re insisting on making it about me. It’s been impossible for me not to tell you, but I haven’t been feeling quite myself recently, so I went to the doctor the other day.”

I nodded because I remembered her leaving the office early for the appointment. A small smile spread across her lips. “It turns out that I haven’t been feeling very well because, well...” I watched as her hands trailed to her stomach and cradled it gently.

My heart stopped as I held my breath. I’d had a stray thought a year ago about having babies, and maybe it was wishful thinking that this woman was about to make all my dreams come true.

“Little doll, what are you saying?” Dom cut her off, only making Katia laugh and pull out of my embrace. She slid to the floor of the moving limousine and settled on her knees between the two of us.

“I’m saying that we’re going to be parents.”

There was nothing you could do to stop the smile that spread across my face as I launched myself at Katia, knocking her onto her back.

We laughed as her arms wrapped around my shoulders.

This was better than any outcome I could have ever hoped for.

Dominic and I had always wanted kids and had fears about looking into adoption or surrogacy one day.

It didn’t matter how progressive the times got; those things were never easy for a same-sex couple, and then we added in the complication of being polyamorous.

When I looked up at Dom, he had the most peaceful look on his face, like this was finally coming full circle. We were finally getting everything we’d ever dreamed of because we took a risk on the beautiful, angelic creature in the car with us.

Katia was ours. Forever and always. We were a family, for better or for worse.
