Chapter 103

The sun was setting. Dom knew she hated the night. “She has nightmares. Of the dark. Of not getting away. Of everything she has been through.”

“So does Hope. She screams at night. I’ve heard her down the hall, a dozen times now.

Damned near destroys a man to hear them that afraid.

I get it. We’ll get her back, Dom. And we’ll tear that son-of-a-bitch apart.

I’m looking forward to that. In more ways than you can imagine.

That man…some of the people on his list of victims were people I considered friends.

Some as close as family. I am not taking that lightly. ”

“Miller confirms. Entered the mines through a caved-in opening. Drove the damned ERT van inside. Not sure how well the tracking is going to work with a vehicle underground. But we can confirm the van is in the mine. And Miller knows where they went in.” Either Jake or Lake said through Jake’s phone.

“Sending the exact GPS of the mine when we get it.”

He knew enough about the area to know where most of the mine entrances started in this part of the county.

The reservoir was about four miles north of where the mines opened.

And…Madison and Hope and Haldyn had faced off with Steve Wilson and Joey Costovia just about a mile up the road from where they drove now. “ETA three minutes.”

He just needed her to hold on for three minutes.

He would be there.

He was coming for her.

She had to know he was on his way.
