Chapter 19 #2
Indi broke first, clearing their throat. "Should we pick a movie?"
“Oh—yeah! Totally!” I said, feeling a little silly as I came to sit with them on the couch.
We were friends before all this… stuff. So there wasn’t any reason for me to be nervous, but still…
I was a little surprised when my thigh pressed against theirs and they didn't move away.
With a few clicks, they had a streaming service pulled up and we were scrolling through options, movie posters flying by with every press of the button.
"What about that one?" I said, my hand landing on Indigo’s forearm to stop them clicking. "Tara told me it was really good."
“Uh, yeah… Sure.”
They selected my choice, a horror movie about alpha vampires with a mostly Black cast, and music blasted from the surround sound, feeling like it was coming from everywhere.
"Thank you, by the way," I said, settling in to watch.
"For what?"
"Coming to get me," I said, finding it difficult to look at them.
I wasn’t entirely sure why. If they were watching the movie, great. Wasn’t that the point? And, if they were looking at me…
My finger traced along the seam of the couch, and I watched its progression.
"I’d come whenever you call, Eva,” Indigo said softly. “Anytime.”
The sincerity in their voice gave me the courage to look at them, finding the alpha’s eyes already trained on me.
I swallowed hard, familiar warmth fluttering in my belly. "Why?"
They smiled, reaching to pull me closer until I was pressed against the alpha’s side.
A hand stroked through my hair, toying with the end of my candy-floss pigtail. "Because I care about you, obviously. Even if I’m a little stupid. Bad at showing it…”
As I looked into the alpha’s eyes, there was this sort of gravitational pull from them, drawing me closer. My nose brushed theirs, and I licked my lips, barely daring to breathe.
Hadn’t I been here before? Pulled into Indigo’s orbit only to be pushed away at the last minute.
But it didn’t matter, not really. A part of me knew that no matter how many times it ended in disaster, I’d find myself here again.
Wanting.
“I care about you, too,” I whispered, my hand resting against their chest to feel their racing heartbeat.
I wasn't sure who actually bridged the gap, but our lips pressed together, and I melted into the kiss.
This was nothing like the barcade bathroom. Where the last time I’d kissed Indigo it’d been desperate and full of longing, this was soft. Careful. Like we were both worried about scaring the other off.
It didn’t stay like that for long. Indigo’s tongue swiped against the seam of my mouth in a silent question for more, and I was eager to give it to them, my lips parting instantly.
I needed to be closer, to feel more of them. My body pressed tighter to theirs, wanting every point of contact I could.
Indi's hands found my hips, and suddenly I was being lifted. I gasped against their mouth as they dropped me in their lap, letting their hands caress over my hips until they were firmly gripping my ass, pulling me down into a heavy grind of their hips.
My arms wound around their neck, and I let my fingers work through their curls, nails scratching softly against their scalp.
“I want you,” Indigo murmured, breaking the kiss to trail their lips along my jaw. “It doesn’t matter to me if you go through with Cameo’s psycho plan or not.”
Their teeth grazed against the sensitive skin of my jaw, and I whined, Indigo’s hands tightening at the flood of my perfume in the air.
“Fuck,” they hissed, barely above a whisper. “Tell me you want me too.”
“I want you,” I whispered, turning my head to catch the alpha’s lips in a heated kiss. “Indi, please.”
They nipped my lip, and I moaned, grinding into their lap to feel the hard press of Indigo’s cock through their jeans.
“Don’t worry, doll,” they whispered against my lips with a playful swat against my ass that made my thighs quiver. “I’ll give you what you need.”
“Indi—” I whimpered, tugging them for another heavy kiss. “Quit teasing.”
My focus was entirely on the alpha as they met me kiss for kiss, hands exploring far too slowly for the need clawing at me like sickness—when a loud crunch brought me back into the room.
Startled, I looked up to find Joon, a large bowl of popcorn in hand, watching as he brought another handful to his mouth, several pieces finding a home on the food.
"Don't mind me,” the omega said with a smirk. “Just enjoying the show."
My instinct was to pull back. Last I knew, they hadn’t talked about… anything. And even though I might be signing this contract, I had no idea what everyone’s participation would be like.
Would Indi and Joon even want to—
The alpha didn’t let me go too far, pulling me back to their lips with a little smirk. “It’s okay.”
“After your stream the other day, we’re trying to be more…” Joon trailed off as Indigo’s hand slid under my skirt, swallowing hard as they lifted the fabric, undoubtedly giving him a view of my soaked panties. “Open.”
We’d barely been doing more than kissing, and this alpha had me so wound up and needy that I could’ve begged for them to touch me. Still… There was a bit of uncertainty in Joon’s voice that gave me pause.
“Aren’t you going to ruin your dinner?” Indi asked, letting their head fall against the back of the sofa.
“Like I care,” Joon shrugged. “He’s not making me eggplant parm, so it’s whatever.”
“You are such a brat.”
The omega shrugged, clearly not bothered by his alpha’s assessment, and came to join us on the couch, pressing into Indi’s side. “What’re we watching—er, ignoring in your case?”
I don’t think I could get any redder, hiding in the side of Indigo’s neck, “Joon!”
“Hey,” the alpha said, their voice taking on a stern edge I hadn’t heard from them before. “Are you asking for a punishment?”
I peered from the safety of Indi’s throat to watch the interaction carefully.
“No,” Joon whispered, so softly I couldn’t believe it was him. I was expecting him to lash out or give Indigo an attitude like he did with Marcus, but instead, it was like the mouthy omega had suddenly become a compliant model citizen.
Indi leaned down, rewarding him with a gentle kiss. “Then be nice to our guest, yeah?”
He let out a long breath as Indi pulled away. “I was just joking.”
“Yeah, but you’re embarrassing her,” Indigo said, rubbing my back in soft, soothing circles. “Silly, since I know you want to kiss her too.”
Joon rolled his eyes, and I couldn’t see the look Indi shot him, but he was quick to look remorseful. “Sorry.”
“Good boy.”
The preen was unmistakable, Joon’s grin stretching wide as Indigo adjusted me to lounge against their chest more comfortably.
It felt like I just watched someone tame a wild bear, the masterful way that Indi redirected Joon, leaving me wet and speechless.
I wanted to push back against them, see what would happen if I were the one who misbehaved.
Leaning over, I swiped a handful of popcorn from Joon’s bowl, stopping to give him a soft kiss, too. He hummed in response, holding me for another, deeper kiss that left me wondering how long it would be until I mastered dealing with Joon’s brattiness myself.
“I missed you,” I whispered softly, earning another tender kiss.
“Watch the movie, princess,” Joon said with a grin. “If you keep up with that, none of us will be on time for dinner.”
