Fallon

What. A. Night.

The kiss put us both in a bit of a trance for a few minutes until the waitress tapped his shoulder to tell him our food was on the table and was getting cold. Hand in hand, he led me as we walked back to our booth to sit.

After a few moments of silence, we fell back into our Diane and Lloyd routine of chatting seamlessly and playfully. I thought it might be awkward to talk so openly in person without hiding behind the safety of a phone, but it wasn’t. It was more like old friends chatting and laughing.

We sat for hours, with neither of us wanting the date to come to an end. It felt like ten dates in one night, in the best way possible.

He’s now driving me home with his fingers intertwined with mine. He’s very touchy-feely. He maintains constant contact with me whether we’re sitting, standing, or walking. For some reason, that surprises me about him.

Jett has this tough guy exterior. He’s so big and muscular. Hell, he was a football player. He looks like a brute, but he’s not. Lloyd has been introspective and thoughtful. Sweet and caring. Finding out they’re one and the same is a mindfuck.

As we pull into my driveway, I’m torn about what I want to happen.

My libido and brain are engaged in a battle.

I’m beyond attracted to the man. I feel safe with him.

But I haven’t had time to fully process the shock of Lloyd being Jett.

Did I let him off the hook too easily? He did do something underhanded to get me to go out with him.

I know his intentions weren’t malicious, but he wasn’t exactly forthcoming.

As he pulls into my driveway, he looks at me. “When can I see you again?”

I smile. “What makes you so sure you’re getting a second date, Jeffries?”

He lifts my hand and mock bites it. “You’re kind of a wiseass.”

“Better than being a dumbass,” I respond.

“That’s true,” he agrees as he places the car in park. “Maybe I should drive around a little longer so the evening doesn’t have to end,” he offers hopefully and adorably. I know he wants me to invite him inside. His eyes are pleading for it.

I turn my body toward his. “Jett, I had an amazing time tonight. I appreciate all the effort you put in. My body is screaming for me to invite you into my home, but I think I need time to process this. You did deceive me.”

He looks down and nods. “I understand. I’m sorry.

Just know it came from a good place. I truly believe there’s something extraordinary between us, Fallon.

I knew it that night on the balcony, and I know it now.

Please give me a chance. Just one. If I mess up, you can kick me to the curb. I promise.”

I rub his arm. God damn, they’re so big and hard. My mind moves right to his workout videos. His muscles rippling. Sweat pouring from his sexy body. It takes everything I have not to invite him inside to have my wicked way with him.

I’ve been imagining him in nothing but that cowboy hat all night. How hot would he look like that?

Exhaling a long breath as I try to rein in my carnal desires, I reluctantly say, “Tomorrow. Give me until then to think about things.”

Respecting my decision, he walks me to my door and gives me the softest, sweetest kiss goodnight. He runs the backs of his fingers across my cheek. “Tomorrow, angel face. I’ll call you.”

“Tomorrow,” I echo on a whisper, both loving and hating that he’s not pushing for more. Loving that he’s being respectful, hating that he’s not pushing me inside and bending me over my dining room table…while wearing the cowboy hat.

I walk inside, close the door, and fall back against it as I clutch my chest and attempt to calm my racing heart. That wasn’t easy. My body is thrumming for him, but I know I did the right thing.

I suppose I’ll get into bed and touch myself to yet another one of his workout videos, adding that epic kiss to my highlight reel. At least I won’t feel guilty about “cheating on Lloyd” while masturbating to visions of Jett, which I’ve done countless times in the past few months.

Walking upstairs to my bathroom, I get undressed and slip into sleep shorts and a flimsy, matching tank top I like to sleep in.

I robotically wash my face and brush my teeth as I run through the evening in my head.

He created the most perfect first date ever.

He considered every single thing I’ve said to him over the past few months and poured it into this date.

Every woman should feel as heard and seen as I did tonight.

I look at myself in the mirror, smiling as I run my fingers over my lips, remembering what his felt like pressed against them.

I’m pretending to think about things when I know full well that I’m going to move forward with him.

The pessimist in me fears heartbreak finding me again, but the optimist in me hopes this is different.

I desperately want to give him the chance to prove me wrong that a man in his position can’t give me what I deserve.

The chemistry is undeniable. How can I possibly not see where this goes?

I’m lost in my thoughts when my doorbell rings. Who the hell is ringing my doorbell this late at night?

I pick up my phone and pull up my front door camera app. It’s Jett. I talk through the microphone. “Hello?”

He looks around until he finds the camera. Rubbing behind his neck, he gives me a sheepish smile and says, “It’s after midnight. It’s tomorrow.”

Looking at the watch sitting on my vanity, I see it’s exactly midnight. I can’t help but smile. He’s so adorable. So unashamedly anxious to spend time with me.

“That’s not exactly what I meant by tomorrow, Jett.”

He nods. “I know. I didn’t want the night to end. Can we…just spend some more time together? Coffee? Wine? A movie? Anything?” He gives me a hopeful expression.

I bite my lip, again feeling torn between my head and my body. “If I open that door, you and I both know what will happen, and it won’t entail coffee, wine, or a movie.”

His green eyes sparkle as he shrugs. “Would that be so bad?”

No, it wouldn’t.

Knowing the right answer, I reluctantly say, “Good night, Jett.”

He nods again, this time in resignation. “Yep. Good night. I’ll call you tomorrow.” He scratches his head and mumbles to himself, “Wait, am I allowed to call the next day? Do I have to wait longer?”

I let out a laugh. “Have you been asking people for dating advice?”

His eyes widen as if he didn’t realize he said those things out loud, where I could hear them. “Oh…umm…I just don’t want to mess things up more than I already have.”

He’s so damn cute.

“Anyway,” he continues, “have a good night. Sweet dreams, angel face. I know I’ll be dreaming of you.”

At that, he turns and walks back toward his car with his head down. I shamelessly stare at his perfect, muscular ass while he goes. I’d much rather be digging my nails into that ass than watch it leave my house.

Fuck. Fuck. Fuck.

Why am I torturing both of us? Isn’t it inevitable at this point? It may not end well, but why am I denying myself something I desperately want? Don’t I want to know if this crazy connection we share translates to the bedroom?

I quickly make my way downstairs and run to the front door, swinging it open just as he’s about to get into his car.

His head jerks up at the intruding noise, and our eyes meet. He licks his lips. “You opened the door.”

I nod. “I did.”

“Does that mean—”

“Come here, Jett,” I interrupt while crooking my finger at him.

Leaving his car door open, he practically sprints toward me.

You’ve got to love the enthusiasm. When he arrives at my door, his eyes move up and down my body, turning a much darker shade of green.

His breathing intensifies, and his fingers twitch like he’s dying to touch me but is waiting for that final invitation to do so.

He’s so blatantly into me. It’s…nice. This beautiful man could easily date twenty-five-year-old supermodels if he wanted to, but he wants me. He’s wanted me for a long time. He’s literally jumped through crazy hoops to get me.

His eyes home in on my chest. Glancing down at myself, I realize just how flimsy my pajamas are. My hard nipples are visible and poking through the top.

The intensity of his gaze makes my entire body flush. It’s not exactly a hardship having the sexiest man alive looking at me like he wants to devour me.

He stalks toward me, and I back up until he’s inside, closing the door behind him with his foot so his eyes never leave me. They’re practically penetrating me, and now I want nothing more than actual penetration.

I can see the bulge in his jeans growing and growing until it looks almost painful.

Well, I suppose I’m all in at this point.

I reach down and lift my tank top up and over my head, tossing it to the side. My bare breasts are now exposed to him.

That’s his official snapping point, as he lets out some sort of growl that instantaneously soaks my panties. He rushes toward me until his lips crash against mine. His hands move under my thighs, lifting me until my legs are locked around his waist.

He’s so much bigger than me. I’ve been with muscular, tall men before, but none as big and tall as him. He’s so damn broad and strong. I think he could lift me with a single finger.

His hungry kiss devours me like he can’t get enough. Like he wants to taste every inch of my mouth. Like he’s been waiting for an eternity to kiss me. No man has ever kissed me with this much want and need.

The kiss at the bar was slow and sweet. Yes, it was deep, but it’s different from this one. This kiss is frantic and passionate. His tongue moves through my mouth with fierce determination. For a man who doesn’t kiss a lot, he sure knows what he’s doing.

His giant hands slide under my shorts and panties until he’s squeezing my bare ass with brutal force. Enough to possibly leave bruises. He’s bordering on out of control. I love how much he wants me. I feel the same way about him.
