Chapter 31
Rue
“Where’s my bike, OD?” I asked, putting my hands on my hips while giving him my best scowl.
“Right here.”
I looked where he was pointing and narrowed my eyes. There was a brand new, shiny Harley sitting there. It was smaller than his. “That’s not my bike.”
“Sure it is,” he said, grinning.
I sighed. “Where’s my sports bike?” I clarified.
He shrugged his shoulders. “It’s around.”
Eyes scanning the lot, I frowned when I didn’t see it. “I love that bike, OD.”
He sighed. “It’s over in the garage. Strike’s doing some maintenance on it.”
“Why?” I demanded.
“I asked him to look it over. Make sure it was good to go. In the meantime…” He held out his hand and a key dangled in front of my face.
“Why did you buy me a new bike?” I asked, circling the machine. It was gorgeous. There was no denying that.
“That way you can ride with me.”
“I could ride with you on my bike,” I argued.
He just shrugged again. “Just do me a favor and keep it.”
Sighing, I reached out and took the key from him. “Like I’m going to turn down a beautiful bike like this.”
“Good.” He grinned, happy that I’d given in.
Little did he know I was going to give him shit every time he wanted me to ride it. Not because I didn’t want to, but it seemed like that was a requirement to be a part of this family of his. My eyes narrowed as I noticed two more bikes sitting nearby. “Who’s are those?” I didn’t recognize them.
“No one’s.”
I looked over at him and he was busy dusting the imaginary dirt off my gift. “Overdrive…”
“I got them for the boys.”
“The…” I choked on the next word. “The two sixteen year olds?” I sputtered. “Those boys? My boys?”
“They should learn to ride now,” he insisted.
“They should learn to drive in a tank,” I told him. “Do you still have access to any of those, by the way?”
“No,” he chuckled. “And there’s nothing wrong with learning to drive first on a motorcycle.”
“They’re dangerous!”
“You ride one,” he shot back.
“But I know how dangerous they are,” I insisted. “Besides, I’m not impulsive, rambunctious teenage boys.”
“They’ll be fine. Trust me.”
Shaking my head, I gave in. There was no way those boys weren’t going to end up on a bike as fast as they could talk me into it.
Not when their new heroes all rode motorcycles.
Both of them were so happy to be here. To be living with the guys.
I wasn’t going to rock the boat too much.
Besides, OD was right. How was I going to tell them no when I’d been riding a bike for years.
“What’s the gift for?” I asked, realizing this might be a good time to bring up the news I had for him.
“Can’t I just give my old lady a gift?”
“Sure,” I said. “Didn’t think jewelry would be appropriate?” I asked with a grin.
His head snapped up from where he’d been inspecting something on my new Harley. “Do you want jewelry?” he asked, sounding confused. “I didn’t really take you as the type-”
“I’m kidding, OD.” I walked into his arms. It had double advantages. It gave me the hug I wanted, helping me to boost my courage, and it kept him from obsessing over the pristine Harley. “I do have something I need to tell you, though.”
He pulled me in close, wrapping those muscular arms securely around me. “What’s that?”
“I can’t tell you how much I appreciate the way you’ve not only accepted my brother and Teddy, but that you consider them ours.”
“They are ours,” he said. It was just a matter of fact statement coming from him and I was sure I couldn’t love him any more than I did in that moment.
“How would you feel about a third boy?” I asked. When he didn’t speak, I blurted out, “Or maybe a daughter?”
He pulled back and frowned down at me. “Is there another kid who needs help?”
“No… I mean, it would be one of ours.”
His eyebrows shot up. “You want to have a baby?”
“Want to… Am going to… Potato, potahto.”
He blinked down at me. “I’m going to need you to quit fucking with me before my brain implodes,” he said. “Are you…” He pulled further away and looked at my stomach. He wasn’t running away, screaming, or otherwise showing any signs of panic yet. That had to be a good sign.
Right?
“I’m pregnant,” I told him. We’d stopped using protection a bit ago.
So it wasn’t like this was a real shock.
We’d gotten tested, discussed the possibility, and decided that if it happened we’d love to have a baby.
So if he ran now, I was going to chase him down on the new bike and leave tread marks all up and down his back.
He grinned at me and let out a whoop that was so loud, I physically jerked at the sound. “Sorry. Sorry.” He grabbed me and yanked me against his body so hard I grunted. Then he started spinning.
“No! No! Spinning is a…” I swallowed hard as bile rose in my throat. “Bad idea,” I said weakly after the threat of losing my lunch had passed. I banged on his chest with my fist in emphasis. “Bad, bad idea.”
“Sorry!” he said again but he was laughing. “How far along are you?”
“Right about four weeks,” I told him. “So if we don’t want more babies in the future, we definitely need to use protection. Because I’m pretty certain this one was conceived right after we had our no condoms anymore talk.”
He chuckled. “Good to know.” He arched a brow. “But you’re pregnant? For real?”
“I am. Had a blood test to confirm and everything.”
“Next time don’t be subtle. Subtle doesn’t work on me.”
“Good to know,” I said with a smile.
“So…we have nine months of no condoms then.”
I rolled my eyes. “Yeah, I-” The words died on my tongue and all that came out of my mouth was a yelp as OD lifted me, bride style, into his arms. “Lifting isn’t a great idea either!” I glared at him as he started walking toward the clubhouse. “Let’s just ban any sudden movements.”
“I can work on that,” he promised.
“Where are we going?” I asked, even though I knew exactly what he had on his mind.
“Practicing.”
“You don’t need the practice,” I told him. “You already won the game.”
“I still want to practice for the next time.” He gave me a smug look.
“Next time?” I narrowed my eyes. “How many next times are you planning on?”
“As many as I can get,” he muttered, taking the stairs at an alarming rate. If he fell, I was going to go sprawling. He’d probably end up on top of me, but not in the fun way he was hoping to be in a few minutes.
“OD…”
“I’ve got you,” he said, staring down at me with a look on his face that made my heart flutter in my chest then give up the ghost and just melt. “You think I’d let anything happen to you, Light?”
Yeah. He was dangerous to a girl’s heart and panties.
By the time we got into the apartment, I was ready for what he had planned.
“She hurt herself?” Ryan asked, sitting upright from where he’d been sprawled in a recliner in front of the TV. He and Teddy were locked in an epic battle against space aliens.
“Is she okay?” Teddy asked, sounding just as worried as his friend.
“She’s fine,” OD told them. “I have presents for you downstairs. Ask Ruck to show them to you.”
“Presents for what?” Ryan asked, suspicious. He still wasn’t over the crap The Collective pulled on him. After the initial wooing period, anything he got from them, he’d had to earn.
“But...she’s okay?” Teddy clarified, eyes tracking over me.
“She’s fine,” OD told him, exasperated. “Presents because I said so,” he replied to Ryan’s question. “Jeez, you’re all impossible to give gifts to.”
“Why aren’t you coming with us?” Ryan asked, not ready to give in.
“Because I’m going to stay here and have sex with your sister,” he snapped.
“Fucking gross!” Ryan gasped, shocked.
“Ugh, nasty!” Teddy said, making a face.
“Language,” I barked out, then glared at OD. “That wasn’t necessary.”
“Clearly it is because they’re still sitting there,” he said. “Either go check out your new motorcycles or you're going to hear some shit you really don’t-”
“You got us motorcycles?” Ryan interrupted, eyes wide.
“We can keep them?” Teddy asked, looking to me for permission.
Sighing, I nodded. “Yeah, you can keep them.”
The boys rushed past, OD’s comments about sex forgotten. “Cool!”
“Thanks!”
They were gone so fast all I could do was shake my head.
“Finally,” OD grumbled. “It shouldn’t take a motorcycle for me to get you alone.”
“You’re the one who wanted them.”
“They come as a package deal,” he muttered. “Right?”
“They do.”
“Then what choice did I have?”
“None whatsoever,” I said with a smile as he walked into the bedroom and laid me on the bed.
“Can you let me fuck my old lady now?”
“Who am I to stop you?” I asked.
He scowled at me. “I only want sexy words coming out of your mouth for the next hour.”
“Hour?” I asked with a laugh. His glare had my laughter turning into a cough.
“Is that a challenge?”
“No. It really isn’t.” I didn’t want to think about the chafing that would occur from an hour-long sexual session with him. As fun as it might be, I’d end up sore.
“Good.” He grabbed my shirt and yanked it over my head.
“Wait, I have questions,” I said, grabbing his hands and holding them still.
“Are they sexy questions?”
“No,” I admitted.
“Then ask me when we’re done. You promised me an hour. Orgasm hour.” He broke out of my hold and put his hands on my hips. flexing his fingers.
“I didn’t actually promise anything,” I muttered.
“I want the whole hour,” he repeated.
“I can’t.”
“Challenge accepted.”
“You don’t listen very well,” I grumbled.
“When it comes to my woman’s pussy and orgasms, I have excellent hearing.”
“That…doesn’t even make sense. I don’t even know how to respond to that.”
“With your mouth open.”
“And a moan?” I teased.
“That’s good, but not the best. You’ll be screaming and begging for mercy before the hour is up.” His hands slid over my curves and I arched up into him.
I zipped my lips, because really, it wasn’t like I wasn’t going to be the winner in this scenario either way.
He kissed me and I moaned, letting him know exactly how he was affecting me.
“Now that’s what I’m talking about. Those are the sounds I want to hear.”
