Chapter 7
The rest of my week has its ups and downs. Work is beautiful now that Nicky knows I know about his little trysts with the interns. He’s backed off me considerably and even thanked me for getting the Dayton manuscript to him on Wednesday morning. The turnaround is wonderful.
I haven’t seen Jordan since we spent time in his limo. He has texted me and sent flowers to the office again. Nicky didn’t say a word when they were delivered. It made me smile. I miss Jordan, and every time I think of what he did to me, I get wet.
I’m looking forward to the weekend with him, but we haven’t discussed it since Tuesday. I’m not sure it’s even a go.
Nathaniel and I have passed each other like ships in the night. He has been working all this week. He goes right to bed when he comes home at four or five in the morning. He hasn’t brought any guests to share his bed since our fight. By the time I come home from work, he’s gone. I am pretty sure he’s avoiding me, and it hurts my heart. I love Nate, but I can’t condone his self-destructive behavior. I worry about him.
By Friday afternoon, I still haven’t heard from Jordan, and I’m beginning to wonder if we’re going to spend the weekend together. Just thinking about it has made me crave him. I haven’t told my family about him because I’m not sure where this relationship is going. Is it just sexual, or are we going to date?
I’m well aware of the friends with benefits thing since it was all that my sister Megan would do after a bad breakup. She was blindsided by a man she dated for over two years. I guess that would turn anyone off on relationships. I’m not like her or my sister Lexi who had long term engagements. Frankly, I’m not sure what I am as far as relationships go.
As I get ready to leave for the day, my cell goes off with an incoming text.
I’m sorry. I’ve been working for the past several days on a contract negotiation that just isn’t going to work without me in person. I’m leaving for Vancouver this evening, Jordan.
I feel my heart sink. I was looking forward to spending time with Jordan all weekend. Now that’s not going to happen. But I knew when I got involved with him that his business might take him away. Really, we’re not together yet. I don’t know what we are at this point. I give him a short and curt response rather than get emotional.
I hope it goes well. Talk to you soon.
I grab my purse and stop in the bathroom before I leave. When I come out, Nicky is standing in the hallway and calls my name. I feel depressed, and I’m not really in the mood to talk to him, but I go anyway when he gestures me to his office.
“What is it, Nicky.”
“Don’t wait around for Jordan. ”
Fuck, how does he know that I’m seeing Jordan? I decided to feign ignorance.
“Who’s Jordan?”
“Come on, Emma, I know you’re seeing my brother.”
“How? We’re barely together.”
“I saw you go into his limo on Monday.”
“How do you know it was his? There are a lot of executives around this area of Midtown.”
“I know his driver, Albert. You went in, and fifteen minutes later, you came out looking dazed. My brother affects women.”
“Were you spying on me?”
“Not at all. I just happened to notice when I came downstairs. I’m just warning you to be careful. It’s easy to fall for Jordan, but he’s no good when it comes to cultivating personal relationships with women.”
“Why do you care? You dislike me from the minute you got here.”
Nicky laughs, “Quite the contrary. I like and appreciate the work you do.”
“Then why so nasty? Why did I have to threaten you?”
“Previously, I found that being nice gets you nowhere. A firm hand is a better choice.”
“Nicky, firm hand is one thing. You’ve been insulting at times.”
“I’m sorry. I hope you can forgive me.”
“It’s forgotten. Why is Jordan no good at cultivating personal relationships?”
“His business is his priority. He won’t put things aside for you. I know this from experience.”
“It sounds like you’re a little bit jealous. He’s become successful on his own while you’ve had to find it through your father.”
“I’m not jealous. I don’t have Jordan’s drive. He wanted to be filthy rich, and he got it. But his life lacks certain personal touches like someone to share it with. If you’re hoping to be that person, don’t count on it. I just want to save you the heartache. ”
My chest feels heavy as Nicky continues to talk about Jordan’s shortcomings in affairs of the heart. It scares me because the last thing I need is another heartbreak.
“Thanks for your concern, but I think I can handle it.”
“If you ever need to talk, I’m here. I understand how he is.”
“I have to go.”
“Emma, just be careful is all I’m saying.”
I nod as I get up from the chair and turn to walk out the door. My stomach is roiling with the information Nicky just gave me. I’m seeing first hand that Jordan will put me second to his business even though he’s stated differently. I should just get out now. It’s only been a week since my fated meeting with him at Haze. I’m not paying attention when I walk out of the building and head past the limo sitting curbside.
“Miss Stanford?”
I turn to see Albert standing in front of the driver’s door.
“Hi, Albert. What can I do for you?”
“Mr. Grayson would like to speak to you.”
“Just tell him that I think it’s better we don’t see each other.”
“Why don’t you tell me that yourself?”
I notice that Jordan has stepped out of the back of the limo, and he’s standing there with a stern look on his face.
“You’ve heard me say it, so doesn’t need repeating.”
“Get in the car Emma. We need to talk.”
“I have to go. I have a date.”
Jordan smirks at me, reaching out to take my elbow. I don’t know why, but I feel like he’s a magnet that I can’t stop the attraction. I let him lead me into the car. I sit on the bench seat opposite him, glaring.
“You don’t have a date.”
“I do. It’s better we don’t see each other. You have no time for me.”
“Is that what Nicky told you? That I’ll break your heart?”
“I haven’t spoken to Nicky,” I lie .
“I know his MO. I bet he said he’s protecting you and that he doesn’t want you to get hurt. He wants to fuck you, Emma. He’ll say anything to get you away from me and into his bed or over his desk as it may.”
“How dare you. Do you think I would let him?”
“What I think is not important. What I know is.”
“And you know that he’ll try to get me into bed?”
“I would stake my life on it. Don’t discuss me with Nicky. Save yourself the headache. Are you busy this weekend?”
“I have nothing planned.”
“Oh? except for the fictitious date tonight?”
“Maybe.”
He presses the intercom button, “Albert, drive.”
“Thanks for the ride home.”
“You’re not going home. We’re heading to the airport.”
“Pardon?”
“You’re coming to Vancouver with me. If you think for one minute I’m leaving you alone this weekend hating me, you’re wrong.”
“I don’t hate you. I’m just unsure. And you can’t just kidnap me to Vancouver. I have a life.”
“Tell me what you’re doing this weekend? What are your plans?”
I’m silent for a minute, thinking that I should just make something up, so he’ll let me go, but I don’t want him to.
“I thought so. You’ll love Vancouver.”
“What am I going to do while you’re negotiating contracts?”
“I just might take you with me. I could use a pretty face at the table.”
“So that is all I am to you? A pretty face.”
“Emma, you’re so much more.”
I start to blush, “I have nothing to wear.”
“Who said you’re going to need clothes?”
I shiver at the prospect of why I wouldn’t need clothing. Is he going to tie me to the bed all weekend while he plays master of industry?
“Then what am I going to wear if I join you at the negotiating table?”
“Svetlana has been kind enough to select some clothing for you. I have a suitcase in the trunk. I’m sure you’ll be delighted with what she’s chosen.”
I groan, “More gifts, or is this a bribe?”
“Do you need to be bribed? Should I take you to Tiffany and buy you some jewelry?”
“Jordan, that makes me sound like a high priced whore.”
“Never say something like that about yourself again.”
He seems truly angry that I would refer to myself as a whore, but with all the “gifts” he’s buying me, I feel like one.
“Then stop treating me like one. I don’t need you to buy me clothes. I have plenty of my own. Maybe if you gave me some notice.”
“You look so sexy when you get angry.”
“You’re beginning to become a real pain in my ass.”
“This weekend might change your mind. You have until we pull into LaGuardia to make up your mind. If you wish to go home, Albert will drop me off and take you back to the city. I’m not forcing you.”
“I’d like to go,” I say quietly.
“Good. Now stop being difficult and come sit near me so I can give you a proper hello,” he says as he pats the seat next to him.
“I’m comfortable where I am, thank you very much.”
“I see you like to be contentious. Fine, I’ll join you.”
He moves next to me, and I can feel the heat of his body emanating from him. I can also feel my core tighten with anticipation. I remember the last time I was in this limo. I’d like to turn the tables on him.
Jordan puts his hand under my chin, turning me towards him. His eyes have darkened, and his face is clouded like he’s thinking intently. He flicks his tongue out over my bottom lip, tracing it with the tip than tugs it between his teeth. I grasp his black tie in my hand, pulling him towards me. He smiles against my lips as my tongue invades his mouth.
My hands roam his chest and arms as he pulls me onto his lap. But no, I want to do something for him, and I slide off back onto the seat. Jordan looks at me, puzzled until my hands start fumbling with his belt.
“Emma, what are you doing?”
“Returning the favor.”
He holds my hands in his and gives me a resolute no.
“Why are you always denying me? I want to do this for you.”
“Because I don’t want to be like all the other jerks in your life.”
“I don’t consider you to be. Now let me do this.”
Jordan takes his hands away as I get on my knees in front of him, positioning myself between his legs. He makes no moves to stop me as I undo his belt and open his pants. His cock is already hard and pressing against his black boxers. I look up at him, and his eyes are half-lidded as he watches me.
Slowly, I pull down the waistband to release him. His penis is long, wide, and thickly veined with a fat mushroom head atop the shaft. A bead of precum has already bubbled up, and I touch my tongue to it to taste him. As soon as I do, Jordan groans.
I haven’t given a blowjob in ages, but it’s a skill I haven’t forgotten. I take his head in my mouth, hollowing my cheeks and sucking hard. Jordan gasps loudly and shifts his hips, pushing himself deeper. I bob my head over him and take his heavy balls in my hand, caressing them gently.
“Yes baby, oh fuck that feels so good.”
I get into a rhythm, taking him as deep as I can down my throat. My hand fists his base, and I squeeze tightly. We’re interrupted by the intercom, but I don’t lose focus.
“Sir, we’re nearing the airport. We should be there in ten minutes,” Albert says .
“Thank you,” Jordan answers hoarsely as he presses the intercom button above him.
He wraps one hand around my hair and strokes my cheek with the other. I know he’s getting close because his groans grow louder, his chest heaves and his hips move harder. One loud grunt and he’s spurting down my throat, almost choking me, but I swallow what he has to give.
When he finishes, he releases my hair, and I clean him with my tongue. He slumps back against the seat and watches me as I put his still hard penis back into his boxers, then close his pants and buckle his belt. By the time we pull into LaGuardia, I’m seated back next to Jordan, and his breathing has returned to normal.
I take my compact out of my purse and repair my smeared lip gloss. Jordan is watching me like a hawk. He hasn’t spoken since his climax, and I’m afraid I overstepped my bounds. I took control, and maybe he didn’t like that.
“Jordan? You haven’t said anything.”
“Doll, what do you want me to say?”
“Was it okay?”
“Okay? Baby, you would be naked right now if we didn’t have to catch a flight. I don’t think you’re going to need clothing this weekend, but just in case.”
He winks at me as we pull onto the tarmac. A private jet is sitting there, and the crew is waiting for us to board. Albert opens the limo door and helps me out, then goes to the trunk to retrieve our suitcases. The case that contains my new clothing is Louis Vuitton. The steward is handed a second small carry all that is also mine. I have no clue what could be inside.
Onboard, the plane is all tan leather and luxurious light wood. A small console sits in front of a long bench seat with a flat-screen television. The aircraft is large enough to seat several people, but there is only Jordan and me beside the two attendants, a uniformed man with a severe crewcut and a young woman with blonde hair in a ponytail. I’ve never been on a private plane before.
“Doll, take your seat. We’re going to be taking off soon.”
Jordan kisses me as he helps me and then sits in the chair to my left.
“Are you afraid of flying?”
“Not particularly. I usually do fine. No travel sickness, either.”
“Good. Once we get off the ground, we can move to the couch.”
I hear the plane engines rumble, and the attendants disappear as the captain prepares for takeoff. We start to move, and within minutes, we’re airborne. Jordan presses a button on his armrest, and the male attendant magically appears.
“I’m Devon. Can I get you something to drink?”
Before I can speak, Jordan makes a request, “Miss Stanford will have ice water and bring me vodka rocks.”
Devon smiles at me before he goes to prepare our drinks.
“How did you know I wanted ice water?”
“Did you want something else?”
“No. But how did you know?”
“I just did. Now let’s get comfortable on the couch.”
We sit together, and after Devon brings our drinks, he disappears again. Jordan cradles me against him and turns on the television.
“Would you like to watch something?”
“I already am.”
It’s true. I can’t stop looking at his beautiful face. His square jaw fascinates me, and I run my fingers over light blonde stubble as I trace it. Jordan sighs deeply.
“I have some work to do. Would you mind if I took out my laptop? The sooner I go over the contracts, the faster I can get done tomorrow. Come hell or high water; these will be signed by the afternoon. I want you to myself in the evening. The last thing I want is to be trapped in a room full of men all night. ”
I agree. I want him to be with him. It feels like it’s been ages even though I’ve only known him a week. I’m dead tired anyway. For some reason, I didn’t sleep well the night before. I haven’t slept well all week because of the situation with Nathaniel. We haven’t talked in three days, and now I won’t see him until Monday morning if even that. I should text him at least to let him know I won’t be around all weekend.
“Jordan, I’m going to move to one of the seats. I’m exhausted, and you’re busy.”
“Doll, you can stay here. I can work with you near me. In fact, I prefer it.”
I snuggle against his shoulder, and within minutes, I’m fading off to sleep with the softness of Jordan’s shirt against my cheek and his scent in my nose.
“Hey, Emma, wake up.”
I yawn and realize my head is in Jordan’s lap. He’s stroking my hair.
“Where are we?”
“Almost to Vancouver. You’ve been sleeping for hours.”
“What time is it?”
Jordan checks his Rolex, “It’s almost 9:30, Vancouver time.”
“So it’s almost 12:30 New York time. I’m never going to sleep tonight because I slept so long.”
“That could be advantageous.”
“You didn’t sleep, though. You were working.”
“I took a short nap. I enjoy watching you sleep. You’re stunning.”
“Thank you,” I can feel the heat of embarrassment coming to my face.
“You’re blushing. Why?”
“I never had anyone say I’m stunning.”
“Well, then they were fools.”
I sit up and focus on what’s around me. The cabin lights are dim, and Jordan has removed his tie .
“Where are we staying?”
“I maintain a condo in Vancouver. It’s not as grand as my penthouse, but it will do. I think you’ll be comfortable there.”
“Jordan, how many places do you own?”
“Several in different states. California, Washington, Nevada, Florida, New York, and Massachusetts.”
“All apartments?”
“No. The ones in Florida and Massachusetts are homes. I’ll take you to them sometime.”
The captain’s voice comes over the loudspeaker to say that we’re preparing to land. We both move to an upright seat as he makes the final approach. I’m fidgety knowing that by this time tomorrow night, I will probably be thoroughly fucked many times over. I’m looking forward to it.
