The gorgeous creature allows me to continue without interruption. If she was a werewolf who had been being spicy or resistant, I would praise her for this. But I bite my lip, not sure how a witch would take the gentle approval for the correction of her behavior.

“It’s more about…” I tilt my head, searching for the right word, “Connectedness. Omegas are fairly incapable of taking care of themselves during a heat. Often, before an omega will join a pack, they will insist on a trial heat together. To be sure of compatibility.” I shrug, “New drugs make it so omegas can skip most of their heats without consequence.”

Her grassy eyes light up. “Can I just take those?”

Shaking my head, I answer, “Not for this heat. It’s too close. Future ones, yes.”

She seems to shrink in on herself. When she drops her head, glossy curls falling forward as her hand swipes at her eyes, I realize she’s crying.

I start to purr and slide closer. Gael’s purr joins mine.

“Can…” I hesitate, “can I hug you, Adira?”

Her head shakes firmly, and my wolf howls in frustration.

Mads and Jules were right to shift and let their wolves run. I might see if they will cover when they get back, so I can shift and let my wolf out. I’m struggling with my hard cock and my instincts.

I take a deep breath and sit back, looking at Gael. He shrugs silently.

I sit there, watching this little omega, alone, in our nest, resisting our comfort, our support, and I fight my instincts to simply climb in and hold her.

I am afraid I’m gonna snap, in one way or another, and I can’t imagine it will help Adira become more comfortable with us.

“Hey, I’ll be back in a bit, if that’s okay? I gotta get some stuff done.” I direct it more to Gael than Adira, but both nod.

I slip out of the nest and head right to the door. As soon as I carefully close the door to the omega suite, I turn and head to my room.

I flop down on my bed, tossing my arm over my face. What are we going to do with a terrified omega who had no clue yesterday that she was an omega?

While I’m one of the less dominant of our pack, I’m still an alpha, and Adira has me on edge, wanting to take care of her. Of course, she smells insanely good too, and my cock has been at attention since I smelled her in the woods, so that doesn’t make anything easier.

When we met in college, I was the jock of the group. I had gotten in on a lacrosse scholarship, and thank Luna that Julian was my freshman roommate because he tutored me through everything.

When Julian walked in on me and Gael, the adorable Irishman who lived on the floor above and was in my art class with me, his face had fallen.

He was crushed that I had left him out, that I was seeing someone.

I chased him down the hall in just my boxers, and grabbed his shoulders, letting him know that I loved him too.

He kissed me then and there, and it was clear we were mates.

Gael had gently taken both our hands and led us back to the room.

That night sealed it; we were mated for life.

The three of us had been together ever since.

Mads and Corbin? They slotted right in, years later, both taking the obviously empty spots of very dominant leaders. They clearly needed us too, and our pack was perfect.

Except that Maddox and I desperately wanted an omega. He and I are the ones who have spent the most time decorating and outfitting the omega’s suite. I catch him there from time to time. Just sitting on the edge of the nest silently.

I think Jules and Gael are happy without an omega, and Corbin… well, I think he’s worried enough about the four of us without adding an even more vulnerable pack member. He hides it well with his gruff exterior and bluster but he’s just as much of a Daddy as Mads is.

Mmm, I’m half-tempted to go out to his garage and bother him until he snaps and fucks me. My hand drops to cover my cock over my pants.

On second thought, maybe aggravating and bratting for an already-stressed alpha is probably not the best decision.

I guess I’ll just go have a quick agony jerk.
