55. Sunny
Chapter 55
Sunny
“ I need to brush my teeth.” I grimaced, slowly walking toward the bathroom. My whole body ached, but in a nice way. My expectations for my heat had been low; I had only gone through one with Gregory, and I’d hardly been lucid, but with my guys? Fuck, it was the stuff dreams were made of.
Rune chuckled as he followed me, a pair of shorts slung low on his hips. “I can’t help you with that, Cher. Not after last time.”
“Last time?” I asked, turning to him in confusion.
He nodded, biting back a laugh. “On day three or four of your heat, we decided you needed a shower because we had made a thorough mess out of you. And when I decided to help you brush your teeth, you declared that you wanted a cock in your mouth and not a toothbrush and bit me.”
“I-I did what?” I spluttered. I had no memory of that happening.
Rune chuckled. “Yep, you were a wonderfully feral little thing,” he said, gently pushing me toward the bathroom.
“Oh, my word, I am so sorry,” I muttered, burying my face in my hands.
“Don't you dare apologize. It was amazing, and I can't wait for it to happen again next heat.”
I cocked an eyebrow at him. “You want me to act like a feral cock-hungry monster again?” I asked dubiously.
He nodded. “Fuck, yes,” he declared before turning back the way we came and shouting, “guys! Reassure Sunny that we absolutely loved her being a feral little cock monster!”
My face was probably bright red, and I wanted the ground to swallow me whole. Even though I was in love with these guys, it was still embarrassing for them to talk about my heat that way.
“Best. Time. Ever!” Blaze shouted with glee from the general direction of the nest.
Laughing to myself, I padded into the bathroom to get cleaned up.
Once the worst of the heat smell was off me, I threw on some clothes and, as a group, we made our way back to the house.
“I hope I don't smell too much,” I muttered as I ran a hand through my hair. “There are so many people there…”
If I hadn't been so desperate to see Luka, I would have hung out in the nest until I was sure everyone was gone.
“There's no need to worry about that. It's only Kennedy at the house. I told her this morning that your heat had broken. She decided to kick everyone out so you could come home without having to worry about looking like, and I am quoting her here, absolutely freshly fucked carnage .”
I snorted at the picture she painted. It probably wasn't far from the truth. Even though I had showered, my hair was still unruly, and my skin was covered in bruises and bite marks.
The omega, who was now technically my sister-in-law, was waiting for us in the kitchen.
“Sunny!” she shouted, barreling over to me and pulling me into a bear hug. “Smells like you had a lovely time.” She chuckled, pulling back and beaming at me.
“I did.” I laughed. “But I’m more than ready to see my baby.”
Kennedy nodded. “He’s in his room. He didn’t want to nap earlier, but after lunch, he conked out. Here, I’ve got the baby monitor with me.”
She darted over to the kitchen island, grabbing the small screen and handing it to me.
“Thank you… Why does it smell so clean in here?” I asked, glancing around. Now that I was actually looking, I noticed that every surface was sparkling and tidy. All of the usual clutter was gone. It certainly didn't look like I’d had multiple people staying at the house for the last few days.
“The last thing you need after a good heat is a messy house.” Kennedy shrugged. “My guys took our babies, so I had some spare time while Luka napped.”
“You didn’t have to.”
“I wanted to! Now, would you like me to stick around and help for a bit longer, or do you just want to get back to your little family for a bit?”
I bit my lip. “Is it rude if I say I just want to eat takeout and have some baby snuggles?” I winced. Kennedy had been so lovely, I shouldn’t have been booting her out as soon as I returned.
“Say no more! I’ve got my car, I’ll leave you to it, and I’ll text you later.” She embraced me again, squeezing me tightly before grabbing her bag and zooming out of the door at an impressive speed.
“Well, now that tornado has left… do you want pizza or Chinese food, Cher?” Rune asked, slinging an arm around me.
“Is both an acceptable answer? I worked up quite the appetite.” I giggled.
Rune chuckled, leaning down to kiss me. “I fucking love you.”
“And I love you.”
I was pulled out of Rune’s arms by Blaze, who gave me a bone-crushing hug. “I want some sunshine cuddles! Where’s my love?”
“I love you too, you moron.” I laughed, gazing up at him adoringly.
He nodded happily. “Good, because I’m obsessed with you, sunshine,” he said before kissing me again.
“Okay, no more kisses. She’s just been through a heat and needs a break,” Walker chided, pulling me away from the other two.
Having just declared my love for Blaze and Rune, I couldn’t leave him out. “I love you,” I whispered, kissing under his chin as he wound an arm around me. Our bond was alive with affection and warmth. It was so mind-blowingly comfortable and easy. Wrapped up in his arms, I felt inexplicably safe.
“And I love you, Sunny. You’re never getting rid of us.”
I sighed contentedly, snuggling into his arms. “I think I can get used to that.”
