Chapter 24 Trapped
I had just finished going over the contract for the new restaurant I was selling to H&L tomorrow morning when I received a text from Christopher.
"Hey, can you meet in the alleyway near Justin's Pizza Parlor, I need to discuss something with you."
What could he possibly want to discuss at this hour and at a place like that? That place had a murder occur literally every week. I decided not to think too much into it.
I replied," Ok I'll be there shortly."
I grabbed my suit jacket, left my office and made me to the kitchen only to find Venus gazing at me intently.
"Why are you still awake Venus?" She averted eye contact as she fiddled with her fingers.
She scrunched her nose up."I got hungry."She took a bite of the banana in her hand. God how I wish the banana was my-
"And ever since she started kicking an hour ago, she hasn't really stopped, "She laughed while rubbing her very visible baby bump.
"Oh, so she started kicking, " I mumbled sadly.
Why didn't she tell me? I mean I'm apart of this too. She's my daughter too.
She squinted her eyes shut."I was going to tell you but I decided against it because you seemed fully engaged in your work so I didn't want to interrupt you, "She rapidly rambled and then took another bite out of her banana.
Venus got up and walked up to me. She took my hand gently and placed it on her baby bump. Right then and there I felt my baby girl kicking against my hand. Knowing that I had a hand in creating her brought a smile to my face.
Venus's aqua blue eyes were glimmering as a smile made its way in her face."Do you feel her kicking?"She asked while biting her lip slightly.
I groaned softly because something as simple as Venus biting her lip can turn me on beyond extents.
Gosh, she so beautiful.
"Oh yeah, don't you have to go somewhere?"She ran her hand through her curly blonde locks as she removed her hand from my grasp.
"Hmm..what?Where do I need to go exactly?"A smile made its way on her face causing me to continue to stare at her.
She rolled her eyes."How am I supposed to know where you're going. Your the one who's dressed to impress and your car keys are in your left hand."
Wait dressed to impress.
What in the world was she talking about?
I took a quick look at what I was wearing. It was just my suit. I mean sure it was new but....oh.
I couldn't help but smirk." Venus?"
"Yes," She replied, quite sternly.
"Are you jealous?"I asked while winking her way.
She was quick to shake her head and avert her eyes."No...never...what me jealous. That is crazy."I nodded my head as I tried to fight the urge to smile.
"O,k then I best get going."Her eyes widened the size of saucers.
"Are you going to see one of your lady friends?" Her aqua blue eyes were shooting daggers right about now.
This time I couldn't hold it back, I smiled."I thought you weren't jealous?"
"I'm not?"It felt like she was questioning herself rather than telling me.
"Ok, then."She stomped away slowly like a two-year-old who didn't get the Lolly she wanted.
I decided to tell her because I knew it was going to keep her up at night."Venus I'm going to go see-"Before I even finished my sentence she so gladly interrupted me while pointing her finger at me accusingly.
"I knew it. I knew it. I swear, I knew it. What's her name?"I cocked my eyebrow from curiosity.
She so wasn't jealous.
"Christopher," I replied softly and for some reason, this only got her even madder.
She chuckled, sarcastically,"Oh so now you're rubbing it in my face, the women you can have. You know what Antonio after I give birth we're getting divorced and I'm going bar hopping and then I'm leaving with the first man I see just-" I placed my hand on her mouth to stop her there.
My free hand balled up as my jaw clenched slightly. "You will not be going anywhere. We are not getting a divorce and no man besides me will touch you." I removed my hand from her mouth.
She scoffed."You have no right what so ever-"
I pinched the bridge of my nose."Venus, my patience is limited and I hate repeating myself, therefore, I'm only going to say this once. No man besides me will touch you or I will have his head the second he tries."She rolled her eyes as she tapped her foot against the tiled floor." I'm going to go see your brother, Christopher." Venus nodded her head and I could tell she was trying to fight the smile that was making its way across her face.

"Christopher, where the hell are you?"I knew he was here because his car was parked in the front but I couldn't see any trace of him so I decided to look further.
I took out my phone so I could use the flashlight and then I pointed it in the direction I was walking.
I froze in my tracks when I saw what was at the end of the alleyway.
There lied an unconscious body.
Curiosity took the best of me and I found myself walking slowly towards the body.
It was Christoper. The body belonged to him and he was bleeding nonstop.
Without hesitation, I kneeled down next to him to check if there was a pulse but before I even got close I was interrupted.
"Antonio DeViao you are under arrest for the attempted murder of Christopher Angelopolis."
