Chapter 54 Sage

Every inch of my body hurt and my blood sugar was dangerously low. I usually had to eat something after Magical Combat because Professor Adamastus worked us really hard and the class was a few hours after lunch. My heart was racing, I was sweating, and I could feel my hands shaking.

I remembered most of what happened after Magical Combat.

Edward stole my clothes and electrocuted me.

I was swimming in someone’s T-shirt and lying on a hard floor with my hands tied up.

It was also freezing cold in here. I managed to get myself in a sitting position and Edgar was sitting across from me with his elbows on his knees. He appeared to have given me his shirt.

“What the fuck is this?” I demanded.

“Lola’s insurance your boyfriend keeps his promise. If he does what she asks, we’ll send you back to him and leave this school. No one intends to hurt you unless you make us. We’ll just stay here until after.”

“I need food, dipshit.”

“I got bottled water, but you’ll only get enough to stay hydrated because I don’t want to manage your bathroom breaks. I got a bucket for that. It won’t kill you to skip a few meals until this is over.”

“It’s public knowledge I have diabetes, you utter moron.

We just did a hard workout in the mud, so not only can I not skip a few meals, but if you don’t get me something to eat within the next twenty minutes, you’re going to have a serious problem on your hands.

You ever seen a type one diabetic go through severe hypoglycemia?

It’s not pretty and even if you’d mastered healing, you couldn’t use magic to heal me. I.need.food.”

“I can’t really leave you here and no one told me you were diabetic.”

“I told you. I told everyone that first day. My glucose monitor is visible when I wear certain shirts. Professor Adamastus specifically told the class if they targeted my insulin pump because I started doing well in class, he’d make their life hell.

Do you need me to have it tattooed on my forehead because you’re an idiot?

You can portal because it’s the only way you got me out of the locker room without getting your ass torn apart by a vampire. Get food.”

I tended to get cranky when my blood sugar got low, but even more so when some dipshit electrocuted me while I was naked and kidnapped me. I couldn’t even think straight to figure out how to either escape or figure out where I was so I could call for help.

Great. Edwin decided to leave and get food, but he broke out a roll of duct tape and taped my mouth shut.

He’d also used duct tape on my hands and feet.

I was starting to get tunnel vision, which was never a good sign, but I could feel a sharp rock digging into my leg.

I could work with that if I got my blood sugar up.

Edmund appeared with a box of old pizza he had to have had sitting in his dorm and shoved it at me. I bounced a piece of pizza off of his face.

“That’s going to make it worse. I’ve got glucose tabs in my dorm room, but the protection spells won’t let you in because you’re a fuck face who kidnapped me. I need fruit juice, gummy bears, or something like honey.”

“You’re a pain in the ass,” he muttered, disappearing again.

“Maybe you shouldn’t have kidnapped me then, dingus!”

I didn’t expect everyone to know how to deal with hypoglycemia and wouldn’t normally have thrown food at someone who brought me something that would make it worse, but this was a special situation.

The immediate situation was to get my blood sugar stable. After that, I’d deal with escaping my guard dog who could both portal and electrocute me.
