Chapter 11

Pike

Just hearing Jailbait say the words makes my cock hard. Don’t ask me what the hell I’m doing with this girl because I don’t have an answer. I shouldn’t be claiming her and yet here I am doing it. Something about her drives me crazy. She makes my blood pump through my veins, and when she isn’t here, all I do is think about her. Sounds stupid, I know, but there’s more to Feather than I know, and I want to know everything about her.

“That’s right. That mouth is mine, along with everything else on that body. You don’t let anyone else touch you but me. Understood?” She looks at me, almost in shock. She doesn’t know what to say. Feather doesn’t know how to respond to me and that’s okay. I’m throwing this all at her at once, but I know she’ll agree.

“Why?”

“Why what?”

“Why are you making me say this? You barely know me, Pike.”

“I know enough. And I’ll know the rest soon enough.”

“What? Why? Don’t you want to know the person you are making say those things?”

“I know you’re slick. I know you’re smart. I know you have a no-good boyfriend who forces you to do things you don’t want to do. I know you have a good heart and feelin’s. I know you put others before yourself.” Her mouth falls open as she stares at me. She didn’t expect me to see all that about her. She didn’t know I paid that much attention to her, but she’s wrong. I pay very close attention to her. Every second she’s in my space, I can’t help but be drawn to her. I need to know these things. I need to see them. She’s a fucking magnet that keeps drawing me in.

“You’ve looked at me that closely?”

“Of course I have. Why wouldn’t I?” she shakes her head, no doubt still confused when I step into her space. “When somethin’ intrigues me, I learn more about it. And you, Feather. You intrigue me.”

“Why?”

“Do you always question things like this? Maybe I don’t need a reason why.”

“You force me to say no one else will touch me, and then you can’t even give me a reason why?”

“I don’t need a reason, Feather. I said you were mine. That’s reason enough.” Before I let her talk anymore, I lean down and kiss her. I grab her face in my hand and keep my lips pressed to hers. I kiss her hard, not letting her come up for air. I want her to starve for oxygen, for me. I want her to want me the same way I want her. She’s driving me insane, and she doesn’t even know it.

My hands slip down to her sides, pulling her closer to me. Her body presses against mine, and that’s where I keep her. Finally, she kisses me back. Our tongues dance as fire courses through my veins. This is what I’ve been waiting for from her. The moment she lets go and just feels. Our kiss isn’t hurried. It’s perfect.

When I finally pull away from her and let her breathe, she reaches up and covers her lips with her fingers. I smirk at her.

“I’ve never been kissed like that.”

“Get used to it.”

“What is this, Pike?”

“This is us, Feather. This is us tryin’ somethin’ new. You can’t tell me you love that asshole.”

“I … no. I thought I did at some point. I thought he was helping me when I needed him, but I know that’s all a lie. He was using me for what he wanted. He didn’t care about me.”

“That’s right, he didn’t. But this is different, Feather. This is gonna be different.”

“How so?”

“I’m not a liar. I’m not a cheater. I’m not gonna use you for somethin’ the way he did.”

“How do I know that?”

“I’ll show you. You’ll see.”

“I have to go back, Pike,” she tells me as I shake my head. She isn’t going back there. I don’t give a fuck what kind of reason she has. It’s not going to be good enough.

“No, you’re not. I’ll fuckin’ tie your ass to my bed if I have to, Feather.”

“You wouldn’t.”

“Try me.”

“I live there, Pike. My stuff is there.”

“You’ll get new stuff. I’ll make sure you have everything you need.” She isn’t going back there, no matter what excuse she comes up with. I won’t allow it.

“You can’t do that,” she protests. I grab her chin in my hand this time and force her to look at me.

“What did I just tell you? You and him are done. There is nothin’ you need from there. If there is, I’ll get it. Everything else is replaceable. Don’t fuckin’ fight me on this, Feather.” Her eyes pool with tears once more, and I’m not sure why. Does she want to go back to him? To that place? Is there more that I don’t know?

“You barely know me.”

“We’ve gone over that. I know enough. I know what I want.” Someone knocks on the door, breaking our moment, and I curse them quietly before pulling away from her and opening the door. Mask stands there looking between the two of us.

“You wanna tell us what’s goin’ on?” he asks.

“Jailbait found herself in a little trouble,” I tell him as he walks into the room and straight toward her. At first, he looks pissed, but his face slowly softens as he takes her in. He reaches up and grabs her chin, turning her face so he can get a better look before shaking his head.

“Who did it?”

“RRMC,” I tell him.

“Fuck, Pike.”

“I know, brother. Not what I wanted to hear either,” I tell him. He turns to face me now, and I see the look in his eyes. He isn’t having it. He has a soft spot for Feather, and I don’t know why.

“Word on the street is RRMC had somethin’ to do with the shootin’ as well.”

“No shit?”

“That’s what we’re hearin’. Not sure why yet. We have no issue with them until now.”

“We have an issue?” I ask him. He looks me dead in the eye before looking over his shoulder at Feather and back to me.

“I assume we do.”

“You’d assume right then. I can’t let this go, Prez.”

“Didn’t figure you would. Get her cleaned up, and we’ll talk.” I nod my head as he walks out of the room, closing the door behind him.

“I don’t want to cause any trouble,” she speaks softly.

“Oh, Jailbait. You just don’t get it, do you?”

“What?”

“That you’re mine now. That I’m keepin’ you, and I will do whatever I have to do to make sure this shit doesn’t go unhandled.”

“You can’t do that, Pike,” she claims.

“I can do whatever the hell I want. Look at that pretty face of yours, Feather. Look in the fuckin’ mirror. You didn’t deserve that.”

“I did. I knew what I was getting into, Pike. This is my fault.” Anger swells inside of me. This isn’t her fault. Not even a little.

“This is his fault!” I roar this time. She jolts but doesn’t look away. “He made you do this. He took you there and left you. It’s his fault, Feather, and he’s going to pay for that shit,” I remind her.

“What are you going to do?”

“What’s the difference? I’m gonna handle it.”

“You can’t hurt him.” That’s it. I need to know the truth. I need to hear it come from her lips. I get it. The two of them have a past; who doesn’t? But I need to know if she loves that man.

“Do you love him, Feather? I need to know right now. All bullshit aside. I need to know,” I tell her. She licks her lips as she looks at me and shakes her head.

“No.”

“Do you fuckin’ love him?” I yell louder this time. I can’t think. She’s driving me crazy. Having her in my space is making me insane.

“No, I don’t.”

“I need to know right now if you’re lyin’ to me, Feather. Tell me the fuckin’ truth. Do you love him?”

“I don’t love him, Pike! I don’t!” She screams at me this time. That’s all I needed. I rush her, grabbing her in my arms and kissing the hell out of her. I kiss her until her lips bruise, and I don’t even care. I lift her in my arms and carry her to the bed before laying her down and kissing her more.
