Chapter 23
CHAPTER TWENTY-THREE
OLIVIA
I don’t think I’ve ever had this much fun. My stomach and face hurt from laughing as I take another sip of wine. After we went to this amazing sushi restaurant, we ended up at this wine bar, which, thanks to my amazing skills, I landed another account when I met the owner.
“How in the world are you putting up with us tonight?” Sophia asks Lyla. “We must be driving you crazy with our tipsy asses,” she giggles.
“Are you kidding? I’m having a blast,” she grins. “This mocktail must have a placebo effect, or I’m just getting tipsy off the wine fumes that I’ve been smelling all night.”
My phone dings, and I glance down at it. Miles’s text pops up with a picture of him and Bee. She’s in her pajamas, and they are making silly faces at the camera. My insides melt as I smile at the photo. I text him back and grin when I receive another one right away.
“I know that look,” Sophia laughs.
“What?” I look up, and all of them are looking at me with big grins on their faces .
“It’s not your fault. We’ve all gotten bitten on the ass by the Montgomery love bug,” Eve giggles.
“I don’t know what you are talking about,” I say, trying to play dumb.
“There’s no use fighting it. We’ve all been there,” Lyla grins.
“The last of my brothers has been tamed. Thank God,” Savi laughs. “Maybe now Miles will be too busy with you and Bee to focus on me.”
“We’re just friends and getting to know one another.” I set my phone down and take another sip of my drink. The white wine cools my flushed body. “You never know,” I shrug. “He could change his mind and decide dating a single mom is too much.”
“He’s at your house babysitting your little girl while you go out with your friends. Miles is invested and has his mind made up, trust me,” Savi laughs. “He’s my brother, and I’ve been with him my whole life. Not once has he looked at someone the way he looks at you.”
“I agree. I’ve known him since I was sixteen, and he’s different with you. Plus, you're meeting his parents on Saturday. That doesn’t happen in this family unless they’re serious,” Eve says, and they all nod in agreement.
“Did you really proposition him for the night?” Sophia asks, her eyes brimming with amusement.
“I guess word gets around in this family.” I feel my embarrassment creep in. “I just thought if we got the sexual tension out of the way, then we could move on and just be friends.”
“And how did that work out for you?” Eve asks, and they all burst out laughing.
“Not very well, obviously,” I try to hold back my laugh and fail.
“God, it was so stupid to think one night would be enough. That man is a deadly weapon, and all I want to do is be his target. He’s been touched by the gods in that department if you know what I mean.
” It’s clear the wine has taken over, and my filter has been turned off as I word vomit my dirty thoughts all over the table.
“We all know exactly what you mean. Well, except for Savi, that would be just gross,” Sophia giggles. “But the rest of us? God, do we know,” she sighs dreamily.
“Okay, ew. Enough talk about my brothers. I get it. They know what they're doing…ya da ya da,” she waves her hand in the air.
“You just wait, Savi,” Lyla’s eyes sparkle as she looks at her sister-in-law. “You’re next.”
“I’m not holding my breath,” she laughs, pouring another glass of wine and topping off everyone except Lyla. “Drink up, ladies. The grandparents have the kids all night, so I won’t accept any excuses.”
We enjoy the rest of the bottle, and by the time we walk to the car, we are a giggling mess.
The ride home is like carpool karaoke as we belt out our favorite tunes.
When we pull up to my house a few minutes later, everyone starts talking in hushed tones like we might wake up the neighborhood in our normal voices.
“Enjoy that deadly weapon tonight,” Sophia giggles, throwing them all into a laughing fit.
“I’ve been thinking about it all day. It’s so huge,” I whisper loudly before I can stop myself. “Did I just say that out loud?”
“Oh, yes, you did,” Eve laughs hysterically. “Wine never lies. It’s like truth serum.”
“Shit. Sorry Savi. I’m sure you don’t want to hear about the size of your brother’s coc…”
“It’s okay. I’ll take your word for it. I don’t need to hear the rest,” she says, quickly cutting me off. “I’m pretending it's someone else anyway. That’s what I have to do when these silly asses start talking in front of me. ”
“I do that with Bella when she talks about my brother,” Sophia says, looking serious as she nods. “It works.” Silence fills the car as if she just said the most profound thing before our giggles erupt again.
Once I can breathe again from our laughing fit, I search for the door handle and step out.
“Thank you, girls, for giving me the best night,” I grin.
“I’m pretty sure the best part of your night is just beginning,” Eve says, wagging her eyebrows before Savi elbows her in the boob. “Ow,” I hear her whisper as they shut the door.
Laughing, I wave goodbye and watch them drive away before walking up the porch steps. The lights are out except for a small lamp in the living room as I slide my key in and step inside. I hear the TV softly playing as I quietly remove my high heels and set my purse down.
My hand clutches the doorframe when I see the two of them sleeping on the couch.
He’s lying down, and she’s curled up next to him with his arm around her.
They must have fallen asleep while watching a movie.
My heart squeezes in my chest as I stand there and absorb everything about this moment.
With their two dark heads together, they look like a daddy with his little girl.
My bare feet walk softly across the wood floor as I bend down next to them. I brush back Bee’s soft curls and smile at her sweet baby face, which she still has at only four.
I hesitate briefly before moving to Miles and running my fingers through his silky, dark hair. His long eyelashes flutter before he focuses on me. Smiling, he touches his finger to his lips, letting me know to be quiet as he gently moves her more onto his chest and stands up with her.
I follow him to her bedroom, where he tucks her in. Gizmo struggles to get on the bed, and Miles picks him up the rest of the way. He lies against Bee, and her arm automatically hugs him in her sleep. I shut the door behind us as we walk back out to the living room.
“So did you have a good time?” He asks when it’s safe to talk without waking Bee.
“I did,” I grin. “We ate way too much sushi and drank way too much wine, but I’m so happy I went. Your family is incredible.”
“I’m glad you had fun,” he chuckles. “They can be a handful.”
“We were probably a handful for Lyla. Poor girl was the only one stone sober,” I giggle.
“I can only imagine.”
“How was Bee? Did she give you any problems?”
“She’s perfect. Just like her momma.” His eyes hold mine, and I feel myself being pulled under the hypnotic spell.
“So, I was thinking…”
He steps closer, and a hint of spice teases my senses. His hair is disheveled from sleeping on the couch, making him adorable and sexy all at the same time. A deadly combination that had me smitten on sight.
“That, maybe I could help you out properly this time with the problem you were having earlier.”
His lips twitch as he closes the distance between us.
“You mean this problem,” he says, bringing me flush against him as I feel him harden against my stomach.
“Yes,” I whisper. “That one.”
“How drunk are you?” He searches my eyes, and a giggle escapes.
“I’m not going to lie, I feel pretty damn good,” I grin, “but I’m not fully drunk. You won’t be taking advantage of me if that’s what you are worried about.”
He studies me for a few more seconds, and my heart feels like it’s going to pound out of my chest. I want this again with him, and if what I’m feeling against my stomach is any indication, he wants this too.
“Then let’s take care of this problem I have.” He lifts me up, and I wrap my legs around him as he carries me to my bedroom. My lips find his neck, and I take my time on his tattoo there. A soft growl rumbles against my chest and further fuels the fire growing in my belly.
His hands grip my ass tighter as I feel myself shamelessly rub against him. Throwing back the covers, he lays me down, and I quickly grab his t-shirt and lift it over his head. My hands explore his back as his tongue invades my mouth.
I feel his hand run along my thigh before gripping my hip and rocking into me. He’s hard as stone as he rubs against my center.
“More,” I plead, lifting my hips to ease my ache.
“I’m going to give you more, honey. You don’t have to worry about that,” he breathes against my neck as he pulls on my flesh.
Pulling back, his hands glide up my sides and lift my dress over my head. His eyes darken when he realizes I’m not wearing a bra.
Taking a nipple in his mouth, he sucks hard, and I arch off the bed as pleasure shoots to my core. He tortures the other one, and I moan loudly as the ache between my legs grows. I’m so turned on right now that I can’t think straight.
His fingers find my panties, and I gasp when they are ripped from me in one single tear.
“Sorry, love. I needed them,” he murmurs against my skin before his lips break contact.
Confusion hits me as he straddles me, taking my wrists in his hands and holding them above my head. In ten seconds flat, I’m bound to the bed as my thong is tied securely around me. I pull on the restraints, and there’s not an inch to budge.
“You tied me up with my own panties? ”
“I would have used handcuffs, but I didn’t see any last time I went through your drawer.”
“Of course, I don’t have handcuffs,” I huff. “What am I supposed to do with them? Use them on myself?”
“Good point,” he grins, stepping off the bed and dropping his shorts and boxer briefs.
My eyes go directly to the source as he fists his hand around and drags it down the length of him. Greys penetrate me as I feel the heat scorch my body.
“Why did you tie me up?” I whisper, already knowing the answer before he speaks it, and too afraid I might be right.
“So you can’t turn away from me this time.
” He gets back on the bed and hovers over me.
“You are going to watch me this time,” he says quietly, kissing the corner of my lips.
“I want you to see everything I feel when I have my cock buried deep inside you so there’s no doubt in your mind anymore of who I belong to. ”
