Chapter 7 - Kilian #2
“For sure!” Noé responded with enthusiasm, turning back to Dominic. “Your stage presence is incredible. How do you do it?”
“Oh, come on!” Lucien called over the table. “Like you have no stage presence.”
Alex laughed, and Noé responded to Lucien's comment with some silly remark. I just sat there, observing Dominic, who was drinking his water and slowly coming back to reality.
“Everything okay?” I asked.
“Yeah,” he replied, giving me a soft smile. “Everything’s good.”
We soon left the bistro around 10:30, and the staff seemed relieved they could finally close.
“We’re saying goodbye,” Alex said, buttoning his jacket. “It’s been a long day.”
“Yeah,” Noé confirmed, already exchanging a handshake with Lucien. “A very long day.”
“Where have you been, anyway?” I asked as I said goodbye to him.
“I just flew in from Stockholm today. On Monday, I’m meeting my band in London. It’s the last week of our tour.”
“Cool! Have fun!”
Lucien and Jonah also said their goodbyes, and I was left standing alone with Dominic. Before he could even think about saying goodbye, I grabbed him by the arm.
“Come with me,” I said, pulling him down a side street.
“What’s this?” he asked.
“I want to show you something.”
“All right, but will you let me go? I’m not going to run away.”
“Really?” I asked, stopping in my tracks.
“I promise.”
“Okay.” Reluctantly, I let go, which I didn’t like at all. But he kept his promise and followed me through narrow streets until we reached our destination.
It was a small alley, almost completely dark, if not for three blue lights set into the ground, casting a cool silver glow on the medieval facades.
“This is cool,” Dominic said. “I’ve never been here. Did you have something to do with this?”
“I wish.” I chuckled, walking alongside him. “No, they did it without me.”
Dominic paused in the middle of the alley and absorbed the atmosphere. I loved seeing how he was enchanted by his surroundings. When he noticed I was watching him, he smiled awkwardly but couldn’t tear his gaze away from me.
“You’re different from last Friday,” he said in a calm voice.
My heart skipped a beat. The fact that he had noticed made me panic for a moment. I tried to compose myself that Dominic was still standing in front of me. Willingly!
“You too. You’re not so grumpy anymore. Or is it because you shaved off your grumpy beard?”
Dominic held in a snort. “No, that had other reasons.”
I swallowed. Seeing him gradually open up to me made me weak. My gaze lingered on his beautiful lips.
“Kil?” Dominic narrowed his eyes, shifting his weight from one leg to the other.
Without thinking, I seized him by the collar of his jacket and pushed him back against the wall. As I pressed myself against him, my lips crashed onto his. His hot breath flowed into my mouth as I hungrily kissed him.
Dominic rested his hand on the back of my neck, holding me firmly in place—right where I wanted to be. But after a while, he shoved me away from him and stepped away from the wall. “I can’t.”
“What?” I asked, confused. “What do you mean? You just kissed me back.”
Dominic licked his lips and looked down in regret. “I’m sorry. It’s not you.”
I furrowed my brows, unable to comprehend what was happening. “That’s probably the one thing no one wants to hear.”
“I know, but …”
“I don’t plan on jumping into bed with you right away,” I said, annoyed.
“You don’t?”
I made a confused face. “Do you mean that in the sense of ‘too bad’ or more like ‘thank God’?”
Dominic fiddled with his lower lip and stared at me thoughtfully. “I don’t know,” he whispered. “God!” He threw his hands up in the air. “Everything is so complicated!”
“Are you still talking about us?”
He didn’t answer. He just stood there, shaking his head in confusion. So I walked up to him and placed my hand on his shoulder.
“I don’t know what’s going on in your head, but there’s one thing I know for sure. I didn’t like how well you got along with Alex.”
“We were just talking.”
“You’ve got a secret, and that drives me … I don’t know! It makes me crazy not knowing what it is.”
Dominic gently stroked my cheek and my lower lip with his thumb. “It’s nothing. Trust me.”
I squinted slightly, trying not to get too distracted by his touch. It was so gentle, sending a cold shiver through my body. His words felt like a spell, and I believed him.
“Now you’re in trouble,” I said. “Your lips are like heroin. Once I’ve tasted them, I’m addicted.” With another kiss, I stole his smile and absorbed all of his warmth.
I had no idea what I’d said earlier to keep him from running away. Maybe I had inadvertently hypnotized him or something. Either way, we kissed as if there was no tomorrow. Our lips rubbed together until they were sore. No tongues. Just our hot lips.
When Dominic was leaning against the wall again and I felt my half-hard cock pressing against his body, he emitted a strange noise. It wasn’t a moan, more of a hum. A warning, which I took seriously.
Sure, I would have loved to take him home right then and throw him onto my bed, but I hadn’t said what I did earlier just for fun. If he needed time … Fine.
So I pulled away from him and stepped back.
“See?” I said, caressing his cheek. “It’s all good. I’m a good boy.”
But something had shifted. Dominic seemed sad as he tilted his head and nodded nonchalantly.
“Come on, I’ll walk you home.” The situation was unsettling more than I wanted to admit, and I barely managed to hide it.
