Chapter 16 #3
‘Jesus, Luke,’ she muttered breathlessly, her head falling back to grant him better access to whatever he wanted.
He groaned in response, his hands slipping up the front of her cashmere knit as he started stroking her breasts, finding her nipples.
She had purposefully not worn a bra, aware her nipples had been seductively piercing through her top all evening in the cool night air.
Eliza began to tug at his shirt, desperate to feel his bare skin against hers, making Luke pull back just long enough to yank his shirt over his head, once again revealing his muscular torso.
She could feel herself getting wet, and she was desperate for him to touch her.
Looping his hands around her wrists he drew them up, cuffing them gently as he peeled off her top with one hand.
His eyes roamed over her body for a second, before his hands were back cupping her breasts, teasing every part of her, their touch desperate.
She arched into him, desire coursing through her veins when his head dipped and he began to tease and suck at her nipples, as she fumbled with the button of his jeans.
‘Sit down,’ she said, climbing on top of him.
Looping her hands around his neck, she pulled him close, kissing him like she was drowning, and then she slipped her hand onto his cock, stroking and teasing him, feeling how big he was. ‘God, Eliza,’ he breathed against her neck.
As she leant into him, his fingers reached inside her, feeling how wet she was. If he kept this up, she might explode right here, right now.
She slowly guided him into her, sitting on his cock, letting it go deep.
‘Fucking hell,’ moaned Luke, desperate for more. He looked up at her, eyes dark with desire.
She started to move on top of him slowly, rhythmically, her eyes never leaving his. His hands gripped her hips, guiding her movements, pressing her down harder with each thrust.
‘Tell me what you want, Eliza.’
‘I want you,’ she said breathlessly.
He pulled back slightly, drinking in the sight of her bathed in moonlight, as she felt the chill of the night air on her naked body.
‘You’re so goddamn beautiful,’ he murmured.
‘Luke,’ she gasped, as his thumb found her clit.
‘Look at me,’ he commanded softly. ‘I want to see your face when you come.’
His words sent a shudder through her. She moved faster, feeling the tension building inside her as he continued to touch her with maddening precision. The world suddenly narrowed to just this: her body thrusting against him, his hands on her skin, the cool night air against her back.
‘Luke,’ she gasped, tightening her legs around his waist to pull him even deeper. ‘Oh God, yes.’
Luke groaned in response, her rhythm becoming more urgent. Eliza could feel herself about to come, and Luke was thrusting up towards her, growing faster and faster, and she knew he was close, too.
‘Eliza,’ he panted, his forehead pressed against hers. ‘I’m so close . . .’
‘Me, too,’ she gasped, clinging to him, crying his name into the darkness as her climax washed through her. She felt Luke shudder and groan as he climaxed straight after her, burying his face in the crook of her neck. They just stayed there, entwined in each other, as their breath started to slow.
For a long time, they sat entangled beneath the stars, their bodies cooling in the night air. Eliza rested her head against Luke’s shoulder, feeling the steady rhythm of his breathing. The abandoned farmhouse around them didn’t feel so abandoned anymore – it felt like the beginning of something.
‘So,’ she murmured against his skin, ‘is this what Film on the Farm does to its audience? Because I have to say, it’s quite effective marketing.’
Luke’s laugh rumbled through his chest, as he pulled the blanket around her shoulders. ‘This was a special screening. Though I should warn you, I don’t usually provide this level of service.’
Luke stood, extending his hand with a playful smile. ‘Come on, we should head back before I spill all my deep, dark secrets.’
Eliza laughed. She might not know if he really was telling her everything, but would she ever? Right now, under the canopy of stars, near the house that would someday hold his future, she just didn’t want to think about it anymore. Maybe this was simply enough.
Looking over at his profile in the car, Eliza was struck by how fucking hot Luke was all over again. He reached over and threaded his hand through hers, and she felt as though everything had shifted somehow, but she couldn’t quite put her finger on why.
When they pulled up outside Willow Tree Cottage, Luke turned off the engine but made no move to get out. He turned to face her with a grin. ‘Thanks for coming with me tonight.’
She smirked. ‘Right back at ya!’
He reached up with one hand and cupped her cheek, stroking his thumb lazily just under her eyelashes. ‘That’s not what I meant! But yes, thanks for that, too. Anyway, listen, I’m going to head back to check on the dogs, but I’ll give you a call tomorrow.’
She had slightly hoped he might come in and fall asleep with her, but maybe this was better.
‘Sounds good,’ she said nonchalantly. ‘I need a good sleep; the wedding countdown is officially on.’
Once inside Willow Tree Cottage, Eliza leant against the closed door with her heart racing.
What the hell was she supposed to do? She poured herself a large glass of wine and niftily built a fire, postponing the inevitable confrontation with her heart, which insisted that she was falling for a man she would never be able to keep.
Her phone buzzed. It was Agatha: ‘Well? I’m dying here. Was it bondage gear? A secret wife? A dungeon? Details please!’
Eliza smiled and typed back: ‘He showed me his family’s old farm, which he has secretly bought back . . . and then we had insane sofa sex. Will give you a full report tomorrow.’
Knowing if she kept staring into the flames, she’d end up rerunning every moment, she opened her wedding notebook and focused on Fenella’s wedding.
There were only four more weeks before the big day, and even though she was a miracle worker, she wasn’t sure she could perform actual magic.
So, as soon as thoughts of Luke floated into her head, she pushed them away.
She could do this. Although, if she was honest, she wasn’t sure quite how easy that was going to be . . .
